Last rites to an unmarried lady

When an aged spinster (Hindu brahmin) dies who is to perform her last rites and other connected rituals. Is it necessary to perform all rituals upto 13th day and thereafter.? :sad: :sad:

To the extent my knowledge goes, if this spinster has bequeathed any assets to anyone, then that person, and if such person is female, then her second son, will do the last rites. If the asset question is not involved, then it is done on the basis of affection. I have seen younger brother doing it. And, may be any male relative can do it out of affection to the departed person (soul).
