Let me, analyse, the views written by you & that of Dr. Renuka. It is a fact that Dr Renuka has taken the full liberty to offer her comments in every disputable Topics in this Tamil Brahmins Forum for many years.She confesses that she does not differentiate bet ween General discussions & chit-chat & write her comments, mostly ,contradicting the majority views . In the current Topic , she has taken a stand, intentionally not to appreciate the Indians way of life , esp. that of Tamil brahmins with the reality of older people in India, having deep rooted faith in spirituality , finding solace in the evening of their lives.

Though she has spiritual bent of mind , besides being a Practicing Dr. for many years & not having Full knowledge of Tamil Brahmins way of life , takes the liberty to , not only offer unpalatable Comments / which ,we are not able to digest ? Her habit is that she cannot resist her thoughts , whenever any Topic comes up in this Forum, & invariably start commenting , though she may not have intricate knowledge on the Topic. Actually I was not recommending any major overhaul to any specific community...that was just a general statement for the elderly who might be without a spouse to think about a companion to share their heart and soul...but I do understand some got over emotional and thought I was attacking the values of the TB community.

Anyway that is stale news...In the case of the the man you know who divorced his wife who had a brain tumor and advertised for remarriage at the age of 60...I can only say he can't handle acute change in life pattern.

He must be having intense fear of being left alone...he could have been entirely over dependent on wife and her potential death would have destabilized him. So he wanted remarriage to mimic the situation of being dependent on wife to shield himself from major change in life.

Actually with some amount of psychotherapy he could have faced his fears..also if a wife truly loves her husband she wont really mind him remarrying after her death cos who is going to look after him when she is gone?


We all know that males actually handle death of spouse very badly and they seldom cope well..either they become depressed and withdraw into spirituality by masking their true feelings or start nagging everyone around them.

No amount of Bromance of a group effort of any spiritual activity can replace the need for a personal affection of a spouse even at a ripe old age.

I guess some can not detached personal affection from sex and they feel any male female relationship has to walk down the sexual lane...and hence felt offended with my post that it insulted the Urdhva Retas scenario.

BTW RR ji...I have violated some unwritten rule in this thread..that is I wrote some informative perspective about the case of the man who divorced his wife and wanted to remarry...you see..according to a member here I lack intricate knowledge so I have to put a disclaimer here.

True RR ji...see how nicely you replied me about the prevalent culture of non remarriage in the TB community.
Even in the thread about disposing flowers that have been used in prayer you explained to me that the way I use the flowers to make scented bath water might not be an accepted practice in the TB community.

This is all I expect from any member here..to share info regarding differences in culture practice...but sadly some choose to go Tu Tu Main Main and launch an attack of the suicide squad kind.

Then some repeatedly remind me that this is a TB forum..off course I know this..that much I can read!LOL

BTW there is a Subhashita in Sanskrit that goes that a King's words are only to be repeated once...if repeated more than once it means no one bothered for his words and it loses it effect and respect.

I guess that is why Rajini says :Naan oru thadava sonna, nooru thadava sonna maadiri.

Not everyone can be a Basha!LOL

But its also understandable that not everyone can get a grip over anger...its one of the most difficult expression to gain control.

Dear Sir,

In this same forum there are so much talk about divorce among TBs ,intercaste marriages and its problems and re-marriage too...we also find posts in this Forum under matrimonial for innocent divorcees looking for bride and groom etc.

Even when I travel to India I have read matrimonial advertisements for remarriage for TBs too.

Well not long ago a TB woman put an advert looking for a groom for her gay son...and they even found a match..that too a son of a priest.

So I naturally thought times have changed for every community cos we find the similar issues among other communities....divorce rates are soaring too..that would naturally lead to remarriage.


But RR ji...she explains to me nicely..so that I can get a clearer picture.

I feel moral policing is not required... it is another form of bullying when someone is losing out in a debate.

As if posts in this forum would indeed affect the tb community. But then, if it did, I would be happy.

Self interest & family interest supercedes all other interests... even that of the community. That is why many orthodox TB parents have somewhat reconciled with their offsprings even if they had married out of the TB fold. Love, in any manner, will definitely break free the chains that bind the mind.

TBs are changing. Remarriage in the TB community is very much there, and anybody denying this is in a fool's paradise.

Just like how "Rama" is an ideal and not real, the "brahmin" too is but a tag, underneath which there are only bundles of emotions...

I feel moral policing is very much necessary and hence there is a provision for a panic button?

It is because that if anyone pass any derogatory, disparaging , adverse or damaging remarks, without sitting in a fools paradise’s, one can exercise his right by protesting , agitating, objecting and is free to fight for the right.

Of course, no body can take the ammunition of 'Freedom of Expression' as every thing has limit and governed by regulations.

It is the Moderator, who has considered the representation, applied his mind and has rightly deleted the suggestions.

Those who are aggrieved by his act and not in agreement are free to go for an appeal.

Why this is not followed and what is the need for such a posting.....?

So, presumably, the thread has now taken a turn of Brahmin bashing... which is an entertaining subject for most and few loves sit too.

In fact it is the outpouring of emotion of one particular member that led to this long drawn out wrongle.

That way, everyone is a bundle of emotion, only thing is the place differs, some in Office with coleagues, some in family, some with friends and some in this Forum.

Frequently you have talked about "groups" or "members" who derail threads but the irony would be that your mind veils you from the true nature of your postings, which are nothing but blatant charge on the member rather than against the post. In the end, only dust is unnecessarily whipped up.

The fact remains that if one fails to upkeep the dharma, morale, discipline, ethics, manners, decorum, etc in a small Forum like this, how is that one can able to do it outside world??

Where is need ........ ? There is IPC and Cr PC and there is a well established law enforcing machinery functioning under the able leadership of our Hon'ble Chief Minister to deal and protect the rights of the citizen.

Anyway, you like it or not, you are one among the other members of this Forum and have no right or privilege to give me any instructions to go outside and fight. You should know your limits. And much you know me??

Last but not the least, there is a learned Moderator to protect the interest and principles practiced by TBs and to support us.
