It is clear that national security has been rendered a political claptrap by 10 Janpath chamchas and they should give up power forthwith without waiting for demands from citizens through movements and agitations.
Islamist jihadi terror of 9/13/2008 (13 Sept. 2008) in New Delhi is the blast evidencing utter incompetence of the state to provide security to citizens of the nation. Enormous efforts are spent to protect 10 Janpath residents and chamcha-s of 10 Janpath. There is an UPA ally in Tamil Nadu announcing the release of 1405 convicts to commemorate some party icon.
The limits of tolerance have been reached and the evidences for the utter contempt of rule of law and constitutional propriety by the UPA Government functionaries and utter disregard for the safety of the life and limb of citizens, renders it imperative for the President of the Union of India to dismiss the UPA Government and all the state governments run by UPA partners.
A national government should be constituted with the immediate proclamation of a National Patriot Ordinance as a prelude to a Patriot Act announcing the resolve of the state to mount a total war on islamist jihadi terror.
Politico-s have failed the fundamental responsibility of protecting dharma. The first principle of Raja dharma is to set aside personal interests and place the nation first. I accuse this UPA Government and State governments led by UPA allies of utter failure in Raja dharma. They have forfeited their right to continue in office.
Enough. 10 Janpath chamcha-s, gaddi chodo, quit sattaa, get back to Luciana or new national government should facilitate residence in Tihar jail for the anti-nationals.

In the USA, the so called secular nation, the school system is biased towards christians and muslims. In the UK, consitutionally a christian nation every school is supposed to have a collective worship of christian character. A student who does not want to participate has to get official exemption. In some european nations, you have to get exemption if you dont want to be a christian. We have nothing much to say about middle east which are primarily theocratic states. But in India, we have to tolerate demographic siege. We have to tolerate communal budgeting. We have to tolerate islamic fundamentalism and terrorist attacks. Even the hinduitva parties have to plead for secularism and the people they represent are denied even that when we should be having a vedic state. If we should in a free vedic society, we should allow open criticism of religions including hinduism. The "inerrant bible" and "inerrant quran" are full of mistakes and totally unscientific. By getting constitutional protection, they have escaped rational criticism. And this has plagued our society which is known for critique of other schools of thought and defeat through logical debates. At the slightest criticism, muslim fundamentalists riot at the cutting edge as it happened during FACT exhibition. We need to fight for freedom of speech.

Any thoughts?

Dear Brothers/Sisters:

Please sign the Petition to Prime Minisier Manmohan Singh

HinduHumanRightsWat ch.Org has put the full page advertisement (attached) in 10 newspapers urging our colleagues to sign the Petition to Prime Minister Shri Manmohan Singh during his visit to USA.

This message will also be broadcast on two radio stations and two TV stations for 10 days.

The purpose of the Petition is to express our protest and anguish at the alarming rise of terrorism, and Prime Minister's incapability to save the lives and property of Indian citizens.

You are cordially requested to spare a few moments, go to http://hhrw. org, and sign the Petition.

Best regards,

Dear Srikrish!

I oppose your views. Without caste system there is no Hinduism.

I humbly suggest you to read Maha periava's view on jati system and its benefits.

Please think pros and cons before you come to some conclusion. Seek expert's like Mahaperieva's advise before you conclude.

My humbe suggestions, if you cannot take it , just leave it....

NAMASKARAMS

Dear MMji and srikrish85 ji,

You seem to equate varna with caste. They are not one and the same. Caste divisions are a curse imposed by the British colonialists and adopted by the secularists with their constitutional reservation policies that have divided the Hindus. The caste wound infliction would go if it is asserted in the constitution on the equality of citizens. But the secularists benefit by dividing the Hindus and therefore they keep enacting more and more reservation laws and protection of minority laws to divide the society. This actually against the secularist principles and separation of the State and the Religion. This constitution is the very cause of violence and the disintegration of Bharatham.

This constitution and the political system are anti-Hindu and the unity of Hindus can be achieved only by overthrowing of this putrid constitution. As a first step we should use this constitutional (so called democracy) to thorw out these beneficiaries of divided Hindus from power and then write a constitution guaranteeing the equality of citizens irrespective of his religion and varna. You will soon see the disapprearance of the castes.

Regards,

India’s worst Home Minister to stay

NEW DELHI: Loyalty saved the day for Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil. Despite the opposition parties and some United Progressive Alliance (UPA) allies making strong calls for Patil’s immediate ouster for being ineffective in dealing with terror, the Congress came out in the open to get him out of a sticky situation.Patil’s absence at the Congress core committee meeting called to discuss internal security issues gave rise to speculation that he is being shown the door to save the UPA government’s image on tackling terror taking further beating. Those who attended the all-important meeting, which was held at Congress president and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s residence, include External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony, Digvijay Singh, Margaret Alva, Veerappa Moily and the Congress president’s political secretary Ahmed Patel. The meeting, Moily said, was convened to discuss the recent blasts and the communal flare-ups in Orissa and Karnataka. However, he refused to comment about Patil’s absence.UPA ally and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is also the Railway Minister, made a veiled attack on Patil by admitting that the utter failure of intelligence agencies was responsible for the terror attacks. Sources said that the RJD chief also met the UPA coalition’s chairperson and urged that Patil be removed to save the day for the Congress and its allies, who would soon be facing general elections. As demands for Patil’s resignations gained momentum, the Congress had to field party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi to put speculation over the Home Minister’s ouster to rest. Singhvi said the opposition was playing “cheap politics”. “Demands for the Home Minister’s resignation at a grave time is nothing but cheap politics by the Opposition party,” Singhvi said at a hurriedly-called press conference. “How many such times was the resignation of L K Advani demanded and the same rejected by his party?” he asked.

KRS,

Here is a balanced view on the recent bombings from a Sikh. Worth reading.
I read it. I wouldn't say it is balanced. It is the anti-Hindu view portraying the Hindus as terrorirists. Let me quote a sentence:
Just as some fringe radical Islamist outfit or Muslims incensed at the slaughter of Muslims by Hindutva mobs, often in connivance with the police and the state administration, might well be behind some of the bomb attacks, so could Hindutva activists

This is not borne by the fact of serial bombings in cities after cities year after year perpetrated by the Muslim terrorists.

If that is the balanced view one would like to hold, then it is a damn shame!

The holy text and terror

S Gurumurthy
18 Sep 2008 01:18:00 AM IST

Wait only for five minutes from now! Wait for the Mujahideen and Fidayeen of Islam who will make you feel the terror of Jihad. And stop them if you can. Feel the havoc cast into your hearts by Allah, the Almighty, face His Dreadful Punishment, and suffer the results of fighting the Muslims and the Mujahideen. Await the anguish, agony, sorrow and pain.Await, only for five minutes, to feel the fear of death.”Within minutes of this e-mail finding its way into media computers, the jihadi bombs in Ahmedabad blew to smithereens over 50 persons. By the time terror hit Ahmedabad, such e-mails had become the pattern. The mails came ahead of the blasts in Jaipur and Bengaluru earlier. Also now in Delhi which was blasted on September 13. All in the name of Indian Mujahideen.

See how, in its Ahmedabad mail, the jihadi outfit unveils its Islamic agenda against the Hindus — read India.

“O Hindus!...Haven’t you still realised that the falsehood of your 33-crore mud idols and the blasphemy of your deaf, dumb, mute and naked idols of Ram, Krishna and Hanuman are not going to save your necks, Insha-Allah, from being slaughtered by our hands? Nor is your fictitious faith in monkeys, pigs and nude statutes going to save you from the Wrath of Allah and His humiliating punishment.

Know that it is only the true confession of the Oneness of Allah Alone, with no associates, that can save your blood from being spilled on the streets of your own cities.

We call you, O Hindus, O enemies of Allah, to take an honest stance with yourselves lest another attack of Ibn-e-Qasim sends shivers down your spines, lest another Ghauri shakes your foundations, and lest another Ghaznawi massacres you, proving your blood to be the cheapest of all mankind! Have you forgotten your history full of subjugation, humiliation, and insult? Or do you want us to repeat it again? Take heed before it is too late!” The IM goes further, quotes the most fundamental document, the Quran, to validate its theological stand. “Yes! We — the terrorists of India — The Indian Mujahideen, the militia of Islam whose each and every mujahid belongs to this very soil of India — have returned, to execute the compulsion of Allah: “Fight them (the disbelievers), Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace, and give you victory over them and He will heal the hearts of those who believe.” (Quran 9:14). It goes on to quote: “Fight those disbelievers who are near you and let them find harshness in you.” (Quran 9: 123). “Go forth light armed or heavy armed and fight with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah.”[(Quran 9: 41). So the IM claim is simply this:we are doing what the Quran commands us to do against the non-believers, namely those who do not believe in Islam.

The jihadis have openly challenged the pure Islamic theologians to deny that the position it takes against the Hindus is not the position of pure Islam. No Islamic theological school, not a single mullah or maulvi has shown the guts to tell the jihadis that non-believers in Quran do not mean non- Muslims. The Islamist scholars have kept deafening silence. The jihadis have thus effectively shut the Islamists’ mouth by quotes from the holy Quran.

But what about the secularists? The terrorists are misguided youths, angered by the Hindu outfits in Gujarat and elsewhere, they would counsel. The grievances of the terrorists need to be addressed, they would pontificate, to dissuade them from the wrong path. But what the secularists miss is that the jihadis claim, on the basis of their faith, the right to kill ordinary Hindus.

Do the secularists have the guts to ask the Islamic scholars to come out and deny that the theological position of Islam is not what the terrorists claim it to be? But, not surprisingly, not a single secular media or editor, nor any political party or leader would dare ask why the Islamic theologians are silent on the terrorists’ view of the holy book. What has their grievance against Hindu outfits or the governments to do with their claim that Islam mandates them to attack non-Muslims? The real issue is whether the Islamic faith mandates so. If the jihadis are aggrieved then they can take to violence against the state. Terrorism normally isolates the terrorists from mainstream society.

But when the terrorists claim that they have been directed by their holy text to kill people of other faiths and that view is not challenged by the mainstream scholars or the secularists, then the terrorists cannot be isolated. This is what the secularists seem to have preferred to miss out.

Thus neither have the mainstream Islamic scholars challenged the jihadis’ view that their holy text authorises them to kill the non-believers nor have the secularists asked mainstream Islamic scholars to deny the terrorists’ version of the Islamic faith. Emboldened the terrorists have now moved a step further in the Delhi terror mail. While, in the Ahmedabad mail, the jihadis have embarrassed Islamic theologians by quoting the holy text, they have embarrassed the secularists in the Delhi terror mail by relying on the secularists’ view to justify their terror against the Hindus. The secular enthusiasts had carried on a relentless hate campaign against the BJP and Narendra Modi after the Gujarat riots. They had even trivialised the Godhra terror attack that had roasted over 60 Ramsevaks, saying that it was an accident or that the victims themselves had set fire to the bogey, which enraged Hindu outfits even more. Later when acts of terror increased, the secular media even rationalised them by citing the Gujarat riots as justification for terrorists’ anger.

This secular largesse did not assuage the extremists. Instead it has put the Islamist terror on an escalator. Not surprisingly the jihadis have, in the Delhi email, used the very logic of the secular media, and very photographs carried by it a thousand times, to claim that they were taking revenge for the Gujarat carnage! While the jihadis see terror as a mandate of the holy book, the secular media remains juvenile in its oration. It still cites Shabana Azmi’s inability to get a fourth flat, in the building of her choice in the place of her choice as illustrative of the failure of constitutional equity to minorities, and asks how there could be peace with such injustice! But, no section is more badly treated or discriminated than the untouchables in India. If the secularists’ logic for jihadi violence is applied to them, they can legitimately turn terrorists. But mere grievances cannot produce that deadly hate. It is the jihadi theological claim, uncontested by the Islamist clergy and the secularists, that makes terror a religious duty, and a deadly one at that. Injustice, minus theology, cannot breed that deadly terror. Unless the debate on terror transcends the trivia and gets to the root of the terror — the theological motive for terror —the secularists will end up promoting terror, not containing it.Will they introspect?

Dear Kamakshi Ji,

'Balanced' in the sense that the writer, who by the way I think is left of center in his opinions and has done quite a bit of work about Indian Muslims, gives you a different perspective from his side. This is quite different from the drumbeat of anti muslim message in this thread. By the way, just because I posted it does not mean I need to agree with it.

Educated people read about an issue from every angle and tend to make up their minds on an issue based on logic, not on emotion.

The government should be allowed to solve these bombing cases. In a democratic society, everything depends on the primacy of the legal system. If different groups take up arms, and try the vigilante justice then India as we know it will be lost. If one thinks that the government is not doing enough, then throw the rascals out through the ballot box.

I was appalled when the Swamiji in Orissa was brutally murdered but then I was more than appalled when I read that a mob of Hindus burnt several missionary places to the ground, in the process killing helpless women and children who had no family. No amount of atrocity by other people will allow me to think that such a response by my own people is justified. When the majority goes on a rampage like that, then the civilization is lost.

Instead of talking about how to strengthen our democratic institutions I see an insidious campaign to try to use the communal divide to be seditious against the Constitution of India. Such people who have this impractical dream of establishing a Hindu Raj in a nation of such a massive diversity and huge minority population, let alone a huge disadvantaged and disgruntled Hindu population belonging to what they perceive to be a disadvantaged castes, don't know what they are doing and if they do, certainly are courting disaster in the form of mass genocides!

This Hindutva business and all the methods employed to establish a Hindu's primacy within the modern life is going to ruin India. This is my firm belief. Jai Hind.

Regards,
KRS

KRS,
By the way, just because I posted it does not mean I need to agree with it.

So why bother posting it?

You say:
Educated people read about an issue from every angle and tend to make up their minds on an issue based on logic, not on emotion.
This is contrary to what you say first. You say that you do not agree with the writings of the Sikh gentleman siding with the Islamic Terrorists yet you think that educated people can make up their mind reading it. Obviously you are not one of those 'educated people' for you say you do not agree with it. All we can understand is that you feel it uncomfortable to read our complaints about the Islamic Terrorists and want to speak for them.

Seditious?! Who? The ordinary masses or the fifth columns that run the govt? "Impractical dream?! In spite of the sedtious attack on our beloved Rama and the extolled Rama Rajya by your secular friends at the state and at the centre, we have not lost our hope. How can you call yourself a Hindu and Brahmin and deride the virtues of Dharma raajyam. Sorry to be blunt but I have to request you to stop preaching from the pulpit (the U.S.). Even the pulpit's democracy stinks with the way they hijacked it to wage war on Iraq or steal the election by rigging in Florida. The citadel of democracy is now busy spawning the collapse of the world financial system.

I don't think you understand what the so called democracy has done to India and the Indian culture and heritage. We have an economic crisis (part of the world-wide capitalist market crisis), we have a political crisis (sustained by the power of black money by corrupt politicians), we have an intellectual crisis (we have let an unpad Italian bar maid with a bare education to lead the nation and vested her with a D.Litt and no one knows what contribution she did to the literature of this country or any country. May be she has mastered the art of singing lullaby to the Indian masses that they are in slumber like Mahavishnu in his Anantha Sayanam. Your soft cornered friends from Bangaladesh have invaded to all nook and corner in millions, the Chinese abetted maoists have pitched tents all over the country and the Pakistani ISI have infiltrated the Indian Muslims to turn them into roaming bomb squad through the SIMI while the Paki Govt is busy minting more Indian currency than Pak currency to create econonmic havoc.

Sure, this is the appalling achievement of the secular democaracy in the last sixty years. Only foreigners like you can extoll it!

SIMI's 'success' is a result of our secular polity

M R Venkatesh | September 17, 2008 | 15:41 IST

'In peace prepare for war, in war prepare for peace. The art of war is of vital importance to the state. It is matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence under no circumstances can it be neglected.' -- Tsun Tzu, ancient Chinese philosopher
The Students Islamic Movement of India, Wikipedia informs us, was formed in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, in April 1977. The stated mission of SIMI -- the 'liberation of India' from Western materialistic cultural influence and to convert it into an Islamic society -- makes it an enemy of the State of India.

Wikipedia further points out that 'fears exist in government circles that SIMI has been penetrated by al Qaeda. It goes on to add that it is suspected that SIMI after being banned by the Government of India is now also operating under a different name of Indian Majahideen, an outfit that has taken responsibility for the successive blasts in India over the past several months.' Yet SIMI remains virtually un-debated by the polity and the intelligentsia of the country.

Contrary to the popular belief that SIMI is run by uneducated, misdirected and poor Muslim youth, readers may be surprised at the fact that SIMI's founding president, Mohammad Ahmadullah Siddiqi, is a professor of journalism and public relations at the Western Illinois University. And with the spate of terror mails sent by hacking Wi-Fi connections, it seems that SIMI is even to this day run by the educated, privileged and the moneyed.

Despite such repeated terror attempts, SIMI is largely an unknown commodity in India, especially to the common man. What are its objectives? What are its guiding philosophies? How does it operate and what makes it the centrifugal force of terrorism in India? Crucially, what makes it devastating despite a ban by the central government?
The answers to all these questions are not difficult and need not be a subject matter of speculation as these are in the public domain. Yet, some preliminary understanding of SIMI provides the text to the polity that intellectually facilitates its existence, sustains its growth and shields it from the reach of law, all of which collectively make SIMI a potent force in the Indian context.

SIMI -- a fact file

Basic research about SIMI reveals something stunning as well as chilling. SIMI believes in leading human life on the basis of the Quran as well as propagation of Islam in India. While there is nothing wrong about these two objectives, as these are guaranteed by the Constitution, the third -- jihad for the cause of Islam -- makes it a potent terrorist organisation.

SIMI does not believe in a nation-state. To amplify further, SIMI's ultimate aim is to have an Islamic caliphate with an Islamic India an integral part of such an arrangement. And to achieve this, SIMI sees secular, democratic modern India as a hurdle. Yet it is the secular cabal that acts as a cheerleader for SIMI!

Consequently, it does not believe in the concept of Indian nation, culture and values. And to achieve its self-professed goal, SIMI seeks to wage a low-intensity war against the Government of India so as to liquidate the very concept of India. In this attempt, SIMI seeks to utilise the youth in the propagation of Islam and also to mobilise support for jihad and establish a Shariat-based Islamic rule in India through Islami Inqilab.
In effect, whatever it may be christened or defined by the secular polity in India, SIMI is basically a fundamentalist organisation that not only rejects other beliefs, ideals, as well as other 'anti-Islamic cultures', it in fact seeks to systematically eliminate them. Ideologically, SIMI maintains that the concepts of secularism, democracy and nationalism, keystones of the Indian Constitution, are antithetical to Islam.

Parallel to its rejection of secularism, democracy and nationalism is its oft-repeated objective of restoration of the 'caliphate', emphasis on ummah and the need for jihad to establish the supremacy of Islam. Further, it reveres Osama bin Laden while it does not believe that Jammu and Kashmir to be an integral part of India.

SIMI is also reported to get generous financial assistance from the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, Riyadh, the International Islamic Federation of Students' Organisations in Kuwait, and of course the dreaded ISI of Pakistan. Further, SIMI gets operational and training assistance from the Jamaat-e-Islam units in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen, and the Harkat-ul-Jehad- al Islami Bangladesh.

And in the process, SIMI is at war with India. And in this war SIMI gets all the funding, training as well as strategic help from various countries. If Osama provides it ideological inspiration, Pakistan and others provide it strategic, financial and military support, overtly or covertly.

But what about support within India?

While it may be easier to blame others, especially in the neighbourhood, the fact of the matter is that the success of SIMI lies exclusively within India. It is patently unjust to blame an entire community. Quite the contrary, the rise and success of SIMI is a direct product of our secular polity and the manner in which successive governments have handled this convoluted yet crucial issue.

It may be recalled that SIMI was first banned -- the first and preliminary steps at containing it -- by the then National Democratic Alliance government on September 27, 2001, immediately following the terror attacks in the US on September 11, 2001. This ban remained till September 27, 2003. In this interregnum, several prosecutions were launched against its members under the provisions of the now repealed Prevention Of Terrorism Act.

The second ban, in effect the extension of the first, was between September 27, 2003 and September 27, 2005. The government of India had effected a third ban on SIMI from February 8, 2006. Therefore SIMI was in effect legally in existence between September 28, 2005, and February 7, 2006.

The third ban on SIMI was lifted by Delhi high court tribunal on August 5, 2008, which has since been stayed by the Supreme Court. 'Material given by the home ministry is insufficient, so ban cannot be continued,' Justice Geeta Mittal, a sitting Delhi high court judge, had said while lifting the ban. Obviously, the hydraulic power of the secular polity, with a proven soft corner to SIMI, had its desired effect on our bureaucracy.
But how did secular India react to all these acts of SIMI? Consider this:

Mulayam Singh Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav said the ban on SIMI was wrong in the first place.

Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said the order was "no setback" to the government and added, "Wherever terrorist attacks have taken place in the recent past -- Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat -- it is the state governments that are investigating the matter. It is their responsibility to submit the evidence against SIMI to the central government," implying that it was the state government that needs to act against SIMI, not the central government.

(contd.)

contd..

Salman Khurshid, president of the Uttar Pradesh Congress committee, was the counsel defending SIMI in the high court and in the Supreme Court against the ban.
Others, including the Communists, have ensured that their responses are either muted or guarded, lest they be branded as communalists by others in the polity.
With such wonderful local support, why them blame others including the ISI? The issue is not of the terrorists and their activity. Rather it is something quite serious that points out to the serious drift in our national polity and our skewed concept of secularism.
It may be noted that while our secular polity was explicitly exonerating SIMI, a study by the Institute of Conflict Management headed by K P S Gill, had clearly listed over 100 terror incidents from 2000 to 2008 which involves SIMI. Yet, such blatant and patent support to SIMI by our polity is inexplicable.

Substantiating the finding of this institute, even a spokesperson of the Indian government told the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal held in New Delhi that contrary to notions that SIMI's activities declined following its ban, the organisation "had stepped up its subversive activities and was involved in almost all major explosions, communal violence and circulation of inflammatory material across the country." And it is this group that the secular polity virtually exonerates without any remorse!

Let us not make any mistake -- we are amidst a war, a war with a faceless enemy. But it is not the only advantage that our enemy has. As explained above, the approach of our polity rationalises, legalises and sanctifies terrorism in India. It is this attitude of the secular polity makes the faceless enemy that much potent. It is time that we the ordinary people realised this simple fact.

As the Chinese philosopher said centuries ago, war is for peace. Unfortunately a country that has Ashoka (who renounced war and became a pacifist) as its model and hence does not even cognise the fact that it is amidst a war runs the risk of being a failure as a State and faces the prospect of disintegration.

It is time that we need to wage a war, both against such terrorists and those who are apologists for such terrorists. In the interregnum, of course, politicians from the safe haven of Z-plus category security can continue to pontificate. Whether we will be alive to hear them is a different matter.

I know its literally heretical to post in b/w here. But just wish to clarify that:

1) Attacking a person personally is no use and is improper. When attacked personally, any person can do a reverse and attack the attacker, and such things can go to any lengths. It is un-necessary and is a waste of resources in a group that seeks to be united. Please attack the views, not the person.

2) Everyone who does not hold Indian citizenship or holds dual citizenship does not mean they are un-patriotic. No way. Such a presumption would amount to a highly immature attitude in dealing with people and sentiments. Everyone knows - You can take an Indian out of India, but not India out of an Indian. Some Indians who live overseas might perhaps contribute a lot more to the country in various ways than do those who live in India; and understand the country from a broader perspective. It is un-necessary to write things like 'only foreigners...can extoll it'.

When cowards run the State, the nation bleeds

Tarun Vijay

September 17, 2008
Again the same old stories, the same threats and same resolve of politicos, like wet, squeezed paper. We told you so, at that date and time, but you didn't listen. We asked for a stringent law. Our intelligence department was warned, yet no one acted. It's a plot to derail the peace process with Pakistan, we shall never get trapped but continue our mohabbat. They are not Islamists. Bad guys have no religion, so don't say it's Islamic terrorism. They come from nowhere. May be from Mars , but certainly not from Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. They are not our people, not Kashmiris or Delhi-ites.

Don't embarrass Pakistan by pointing fingers at it or at SIMI or Hurriyat -- we are continuing with our Confidence Building Measures and such blasts aim to disrupt it. Why should we allow that?

Another feature, another magazine: SIMI is an association like the YMCA, these communal hate-mongers have connived with the Congress government to implicate them wrongly while they were conducting adult education classes. Please see the truth from secular eyes and defeat the anti-Afzal Guru crowd. Maybe the next time we will include Afzal as a minister for internal security after having experimented with the Muslim League as a partner in governance.

The Deoband's concerned maulvis will again issue a statement to be welcomed by all peace-loving people. Look, they have again said that their scriptures don't recommend this kind of violent jihad and killing innocent people. But no one would ask them how many killers of the jihadi variety have turned peaceniks and left their bomb factories after such dictates.

'Hindu intolerant groups behind such bomb blasts!' -- another secular television channel would scream -- because they create an atmosphere to malign Muslims and get votes, it's election time folks. These bomb blasts, like the Godhra train fire, have been planned by Hindu chauvinists.

A job well done. We can all go to sleep.

When cowards run the State, the nation bleeds.

A will to eliminate the weeds and face the wrath of malevolent elements with the confidence of a victor is the prerequisite to be a ruler and, yes, to be a citizen. If it's there, you build a nation. If not, civilisations vanish.

If citizens encourage and harbour the wicked, forget dates like December 13 that should be remembered, forget to take revenge on anti-nationals, continue with their late-night parties when dead bodies of their fellow citizens lie splattered in busy fashion markets, no one can save that deadwood society.

Where writers and columnists advocate yielding to the gun-wielding secessionists because 'they want it', no one can save that country from disintegrating as every day new secessionists will emerge.

It's useless to blame this party or that organisation. See what we have done and to what level the state of affairs have been brought to. Everything boils down to personal wars and wins, and homemade potboilers rule the top echelons of organisations.
The nation as a matter of serious planning and vision has simply vanished off the agendas of those who are the known faces of our leadership and decision-making mechanism of the State.

Personal jealousies, vendettas and mandi-isation of the high and mighty turn peoples' security into a joke of the ghostland where signal-jammers and black cat commandos iconise the Neros and the Republic is left to fend for itself.

This is our state of affairs today.

Any day, any time, anyone.

Free Afzal committees. Visits to the Azamgarh home of a terrorist. Demand citizenship for Bangladeshi infiltrators. Demand ban on patriotic organisations. Win the election. That's the final aim of governance and our living. Only the people are to be blamed. It's a democracy. Choose those who bring you safety and succour. If you choose the marauders you get back marauders.

The Indian people, as Indians alone, have done it marvellously before too whenever the occasion demanded solidarity and cohesion. Kargil saw it, 1965 saw it, 1962 had a great solidarity of the patriots. Always, it's the leaders and politicians who have failed the country and backstabbed the trust people had reposed in them.

Peoples' power saw that the culprits behind the Uphaar cinema fire tragedy case were brought to book, however influential they may be. It was because of their pressure and media build-up that the Nandas were punished in the BMW case. The Right to Information Act is a great instrument given to the people not because politicians wanted it but there was public pressure to have it and finally it was done.

And look how Jammu rose to see the tricolour win against the Pakistani flag-wallahs. No one had ever imagined a people can create an upsurge unknown in regional history and win too. Great things happen nimble-footed. The British never had ay inkling of the 1857 uprising till Mangal Pandey shot the British officer in Barrackpore. Jayaprakash Narayn's too was a movement whose expanse and impact no one had anticipated, and so was the Ram Janambhoomi movement that changed the contours of the Indian polity.

If people will, they can.

Indians will have to decide how many more will have to die before they feel compelled to rise in revolt. India needs a rebellion of Indian people who would merge all their other identities under one banner -- the tricolour. Forget temples, churches and mosques. The first to protect the church should be a Hindu like the first to protect a swami should be a Christian. That's where the nation gets life.

When the nation is in peril, gods must be discovered in national unity and not within concrete structures. These ugly, nincompoop politicos need to be thrown into the dustbin lock, stock and barrel. The truth is we, as Indians, never paid a price for our independence and honour. When I had interviewed Morarji Desai, which turned out to be one of his last, in his Mumbai apartment, he said not more than five percent Indians had participated in the independence struggle. The rest were either too lazy to come out or had lined up before the British for bakshish and be their officers.

Read what Abraham Lincoln did to save America from disintegration and his famous Gettysburg address and also his inaugural one as president. He accepted a civil war but refused the demand to divide America. Nearly seven lakh Americans died in that war, but a new sun rose on its horizon that inspired millions across the globe with its egalitarian and democratic values.

What sacrifices have we offered to save national integrity and the civil life of our nation?
Isn't it time to ask this question and rise in rebellion to say 'no' to this bloodbath unitedly?

Sure HH. I apologize if I cast aspersion.

Let me tell you one thing. Secularism is not Indian. It is a product of English political philosophy. It doesn't suit India.

Dharma is Indian. A lot of foreigners of Indian origin are really intensely enthsuastic and passionate about it. They form a great backbone of support to the Hindu renaissance. Among these foreigners of Indian origin KRS is an exception.

Rahu and Kethu. Who are they?

They are two of the nine planets. These two do not own their own house. So in effect there are only seven Grihas who are honoured with being named after the seven days of the week. Rahu and Kethu are thus only shadows.

Pandit Das Goravani wrote:

Rahu and Ketu have actually little to do with the other planets as they are outcasts, rakshasas. They are one, but two parts, one being, an anti-godly power being, a power demon originally.

The presence of Rahu and his other half Ketu in the heavens comes only because an eventful moment in Rahu's life wherein just as he was getting what he sought, he was slain, and henceforth having gotten a taste of the eternalizing (within this realm) Soma Drink, is now living on like a God, but is not a God. Ketu is the dead half of his body. Rahu is the ever living head. One alive, one dead. One angry at the tattle-tales of Sun and Moon Gods, the other one dead but in the ecstasy of the touch of the deadly but liberating Sudarshana Chakra of Vishnu. So Ketu is more purified- as he has no choice- is more ultimate- Rahu is still toiling. The Rahu side of this axis represents toil, and the Ketu side detachment. Gain and Loss, in one sense, but Rahu's gain is not always material or external.

There is some connection with Sukra due to the later being the Guru of Rahu and all of us know that Sukraachaarya is the demonic Guru.

Dear Kamakshi Ji,

I am taking this opportunity to respond to your response to my posting above as well as this one.

Where do I begin? First of all Secularism is not a 'English' political philosophy. The original idea perhaps was born in India, but it was certainly practiced here. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Zaroastrians and countless other religions were welcomed, given refuge to and allowed to flourish on the Indian soil by the most enlightened Hindu kings and others. This notion that other religions were mainly a forced ones on us is absolutely wrong. Such a tolerant regimes were 'secular' whether you like it or not.

Democracy is the saviour of India. Without democracy, India would be in worse shape than Pakistan. In a non-democratic India, people like you will run roughshod over other Hindus, passing Hindu versions of strictures and fatwa equivalents. In a space of a few sentences above and elsewhere you already have passed several strictures: I am not a Hindu, I am a 'foreigner', etc., etc. You alone would be a good reason for India to be democratic!

By the way any talk of overthrowing a democratically approved constitution is sedition. Go and look at a dictionary for its meaning.

As I said, as long as people like you who spread venom in the name of a long bygone system, and by the way who does not practice most of the required practices of a Brahmin, I will post, so everyone can read.

By the way, please stay away from commenting on America or Capitalism, because in my opinion, you will only embarrass yourself. Parrotting what is read in the extremist journals and regurgitating here without any personal viewpoint is actually sad.

If you want to discuss point by point without making absurd hateful statements, I am here to argue to stand up for my logic.

Regards,
KRS

KRS,

You reveal who you are by writing as follows:

It won't be worth my salt to respond to you. Good bye.

Dear Kamakshi Ji,

I am sorry you feel this way. As usual, when the facts can not be discussed, you flee. So be it.

Regards,
KRS
