There has been a disturbance in the astrological forces.

What you think you know about the zodiac may be a lie. The sign you believe you were born under is different, to hear astrology wonks tell it. The dates for the western zodiac calendar have compressed and shifted later by a few weeks: If you were a Virgo born before mid-September, so the story goes, you are a Leo (now Aug. 10 to Sept. 16). Congratulations!

There is a thirteenth sign, too - Ophiuchus. People born between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17 are Ophiuchuses. (Your new talents include architecture and snake-bearing.) With all of the chaos in the heavens, one might think that a retrograde Mercury is to blame.

But there is no rogue planet at fault. Just an informative blog post aimed at children.

In January, NASA wrote a brief history of how the western zodiac came to be. The zodiac is grounded in history more than science. In short, the Babylonians created the zodiac as we know it some 3,000 years ago. Imagine a laser beam that shoots from Earth, through the noonday sun and into constellations of stars beyond. (These constellations are patterns that the Babylonians decided looked like animals or people.) The dates of the zodiac calendar follow this laser line as it sweeps from constellation to neighboring constellation, a bit like the hand of a clock.

The calendar did not translate to the stars perfectly. The ancient astrologers only had 12 months to work with, but the sun passed through 13 large Babylonian constellations. So they deleted one. Although the city of Babylon collapsed under the weight of repeated conquerings, this lean, Ophiuchus-less zodiac endured.

Its imperfections did, too. The ancient Babylonians knew enough to track the sun's path through the sky, but they were unaware their reference point on Earth was unstable. Unlike a globe, the planet does not spin perfectly about its axis - there is no stake through molten core pinning the north pole in place.

(In fact, Earth's north pole has progressed eastward since 2000, at a rate of about 7 inches a year. By geologic standards it is a dramatic lean. Recent scientific studies indicate that climate change is rearranging the planet's watery bulk, pulling Earth to the side. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory recently implicated droughts in Eurasia, in India and around the Caspian Sea. But much of the change is due to lost ice. "Greenland is the lion's share of the mass loss," University of Texas-Austin researcher John Ries told Scientific American in April. "That's what's causing the pole to change its nature.")

And because Babylonian astrology depends on the location of Earth, sun and star constellations, NASA pointed out the clock hand of the zodiac has been wound back. "Now Mimi's August 4 birthday would mean she was born 'under the sign' of Cancer (one constellation 'earlier'), not Leo," NASA wrote in January.

In mid-September, Cosmopolitan UK picked up the story and ran with it. Reactions varied. Zodiac tattoo bearers lamented their now-obsolete tats. Ophiuchus was deemed unpronounceable. Others chose to ignore the changes and stick to the 12 signs they're used to.

Nor is this the first time Ophiuchus and a shifting axis have thrown the zodiac into limbo. In 2011, Minnesota Star Tribune reported on the wobble's astrological impact and the not-so-lost sign. (The Washington Post wondered if Taylor Swift were best served as a Scorpio, Ophiuchus or Sagittarius, and decided she could be all of them.)

This time around, NASA took to its Tumblr account it clarify that it did not set out to blow up anyone's astrological calendar.

"Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology," the space agency wrote in a statement on Tuesday. "We didn't change any zodiac signs, we just did the math."

NASA's ultimate counter-argument is that the zodiac calendar is a fantasy on par with a fortune cookie. Fun and a little funky, perhaps, but in no way life-changing.

There is a brief but convincing history of scientists investigating, and failing to prove, astrological claims. In a double-blind experiment published in 1985 in the journal Nature, Shawn Carlson, a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley tasked 28 astrologers with matching tests. Volunteers filled out a personality survey and provided their birth information. Carlson, after removing the volunteers' identities, and had astrologers match the surveys with a corresponding astrological birth chart.

The results indicated the astrologers fared no better than chance. "We are now in a position to argue a surprisingly strong case against natal astrology as practiced by reputable astrologers," Carlson concluded.

Distant constellations, or even planets in our solar system, do not emit any known forces that could have a dramatic and personal effect on our lives, pointed out astronomer and science writer Phil Plait. If gravity ruled astrology, the moon would far overpower any other heavenly body, he noted. Likewise, if electromagnetic forces were the culprit, everything but the awesome power of the sun could be discounted. Nothing else in the heavens really comes close.

And if you are worried about the next time Mercury is in retrograde, breathe easy. The planet seems to change direction - traveling east to west rather than west to east - as matter of perspective on Earth, not orbital pinball. (It's akin to the way a car appears to move backward from a fast train, even if car and train are moving in the same direction.) Contrary to pop astrology, Mercury has no bearing on your electronics.

I gave up preaching reason in this forum. Please listen to my post+35 debunking this myth called horoscope.
But if you mastered in mounting steel rim to wooden wheels used in horse carriages, and live in the city of new york, what do you do.
You talk about your expertise to anyone who is still living.

The stars are millions of light years away from earth. Some of the stars may be dead by the time their light reaches us. How can they influence our life on earth? I just happen to visit this thread, and this is my friendly advice, just humor them. LOL.

In my view, this information is very relevant. I do not know if south Indian astrological charts are affected. Some additional links that clarify position of NASA

Back in 2011, as TIME reported, astronomers from the Minnesota Planetarium Society found that because of the moon’s gravitational pull on Earth, the alignment of the stars has shifted.

சூரிய கிரகணம் சந்திர கிரகணம் ஆகியவற்றை இவர்கள் துல்லியமாகக் கணித்து பஞ்சாங்கத்தில் பதிவது உள்ளிட்ட ஏராளமான திதி,வாரம்,நட்சத்திரம்,யோகம், கரணம் பற்றிய உண்மைகளைப் பஞ்சாங்கம் தெரிவிக்கிறது. இது இல்லாமல் நமது வாழ்க்கை முறை இல்லை!

1980ல் ஏற்பட்ட முழு சூரியகிரகணம் பற்றிய தினமணியின் செய்திக் கட்டுரைகாலம் காலமாக கிரகணங்களைப் பற்றிய உண்மைகளைப் பஞ்சாங்கம் தெரிவித்து வருகிறதென்றாலும் கூட 1980ல் அபூர்வமாக ஏற்பட்ட முழு சூரிய கிரகணம் நமது பஞ்சாங்கம் பற்றிய அருமையை உலகம் உணர வழி வகுத்தது.

16-2-1980 சனிக்கிழமை அமாவாசையன்று கேது கிரஸ்தம் அவிட்ட நக்ஷத்திரம் சென்னை நேரப்படி பகல் இரண்டு மணி 29 நிமிட அளவில் பூரண சூரிய கிரகணம் ஆரம்பமாகி மாலை 4-35க்கு முடிவடைந்தது. உலகெங்கிலும் இருந்து விஞ்ஞானிகள் அபூர்வமாக நிகழும் இந்த பூரண சூரிய கிரகணத்தைப் பற்றி ஆராய்ச்சி நடத்தவும் அனுபவபூர்வமாகப் பார்ப்பதற்கும் இந்தியாவில் சூரிய தேவன் ஆலயம் இருக்கும் கோனார்க் நோக்கி விரைந்து வந்தனர். ஏனெனில் இப்படிப்பட்ட பூரண சூரிய கிரகணம் அடுத்தாற்போல இன்னும் 360 ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பின்னர் தான் ஏற்படும்!

அந்த சூரிய கிரகணத்தை ஒட்டி தினமணி நாளேடு தனது 14-2-1980 இதழில்‘புராதனமான கணித சாஸ்திர வெற்றி’ என்ற தலைப்பில் வெளியிட்டிருந்த சிறப்புச் செய்தியின் சாரத்தை இங்கு பார்ப்போம்:

“இந்தியர்களின் வான இயல் கணித மேன்மைகள் இன்று நிரூபிக்கப்படுகிறது. காலம் காலமாக வான இயல் வல்லுநர்கள் கிரக சாரங்களையும் அதன் சஞ்சாரங்களையும் மிக துல்லியமாக மதிப்பிட்டு பலவற்றைச் சொல்லி உள்ளார்கள்.அவர்களுக்கு இன்றைய விஞ்ஞானத்தின் வசதிகள் எதுவும் கிடையாது. கம்ப்யூட்டர்கள் கிடையாது. மிக நுட்பமான வான ஆராய்ச்சிக்கான கருவிகள் கிடையாது.அவர்களிடம் ராக்கெட் மூலம் படம் எடுத்து பார்க்கத்தக்க கருவிகள் கிடையாது.எதுவுமே இல்லை. கணக்குத் தான் உண்டு.நாள் தவறினாலும் பஞ்சாங்கம் பார்க்காத நபர்கள் மிகக் குறைவு.இந்த பஞ்சாங்கம் எத்தனையோ ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஆண்டுகளாக வந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது. காகிதமும் அச்சும் வருவதற்கு முன்பு கூட ஏடுகளில் பஞ்சாங்கம் கணிக்கப்பட்டது. பஞ்சாங்கம் கணிப்பவர்கள் ஓராண்டுக்கு முன்பாகவே இன்ன தேதி, இத்தனை வினாடியில் சூரிய சந்திர கிரகணம் தோன்றும், கிரகண அளவு (பரிமாணம்)இவ்வளவு,இந்தெந்த பகுதிகளில் தெரியும் அல்லது தெரியாது என்பவற்றை எல்லாம் மிக கச்சிதமாக எழுதி வைப்பார்கள்.அதில் ஒரு வினாடி தப்புவது கிடையாது.கிரகண காலத்தில் இவைகளைச் செய்யலாம் செய்யக் கூடாது என்று சாஸ்திரங்கள் கூறுகின்றன.

I have a question. Given the large number of rules is it not possible to make mistakes when an astrologer is make interpretation of a given situation? It is also possible to exploit the vulnerability of people by unscrupulous soothsayers.

Are there professional associations of Astrologers in India that both set standards of competence and also of ethics? In this internet age there are large numbers of astrologers offering services. How does one choose a right astrologer? By word of mouth only?

If there are no such association it will be nice if the forum experts can provide guidelines as to how to find a right astrologer.

Precise analysis is what required for a right prediction A good astrologer must have the blessing of his personal deity to have a good command over prediction Many astrologers do upasana of their deity for certain mandalams before getting into serious astrological consultation.
I don't have any knowledge about any association for exercising check or control over astrologers in India Maximum we can do is to spread awareness about astrology so that people can recognise the true system and its practitioners and that is what the motive of this thread is.

Continuing with the above question let me explain the broad principles under which analysis of a particular query is undertaken by the astrologer. Whenever a query is posed to an astrologer, he has first to examine and decide where in the horoscope to look for the problem and also for its remedy if any. For this purpose, he has to examine the House related to it, the House lord and his placement in the chart, Karaka for the concerned event and his placement, Aspects of various planets on house, house lord and Karaka.
Suppose let us say, the query is related to marriage. We know the house related to it is 7[SUP]th[/SUP]. But that is not the only thing an astrologer will look at. In addition we also look at 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and 8[SUP]th[/SUP] house for longevity of marriage, 4[SUP]th[/SUP] house for family values (attachment and bond ness) and 5[SUP]th[/SUP] house for children prospects. First and foremost he has to see whether there is a promise of marriage is there in the chart. For this he has to analyze apart from D 1 (the Lagna chart), the Moon chart (that means chart keeping Moon as Lagna) the Venus chart (keeping Venus as Lagna). Some astrologers also see the chart of Karaka as Lagna, in case of marriage since it is Venus it is automatically included. Once the promise is established, we look for the time of delivery of the promise. The delivery of a promise in a horoscope normally takes place during Dasha, Antar-dasha of the concerned house lord or Karaka. The aspect of transit (Gocharam) Jupiter and Saturn on concerned house of D1 is another precondition for the promise to be delivered. Now a day’s people see up to Pratyantar-Dasha and Sookshma- Dasha (will learn about this in coming posts) to get more precise results. In other words check for the promise in the horoscope, check for the appropriate Dasha/Antar-dasha/Pratyantar-Dasha/Sookshma Dasha and timing of aspect of transit Jupiter and Saturn on the respect house to predict the event. This is the normal practice and if the timing of D1 chart is accurate and the astrologer has not missed anything in between, normally it gives more or less accurate results.
As we were discussing about the prospect of marriage, the examination of the charts as above would suggest whether a promise of marriage is there or not. A well un afflicted promise in all the three charts will ensure a happy, long and successful married life for the person provided supported by appropriate Dasha and Gocharam by concerned planets. The timing is most important and in case the timing of any of these events gets beyond the normal marriageable age, the result is a delayed marriage. This means if the promise is there but the respective Dasha is delayed or the Transit aspect is delayed, the delivery of promise also gets delayed accordingly. I have already said that Dasha of the house Lord or Karaka is must for any promise to be delivered, however, delivery of certain promises like marriage could be taken place in the Dasha of Jupiter or Rahu even though they are not the Dasha Lord or Karaka (this will be explained later)
I think a little explanation regarding Transit or Gocharam is also important to understand the term. As we all know the D1 chart represents the time of birth or time of taking place of any event. In a way it is considered as the reflection of our Karma and a record of events in store for the respective birth. It contains lot of promises of things to be happened in future. How to expect the timing of these pre-designated promises? As already said the delivery of promise depends on Dasha and Gocharam. Dasha also is somewhat explained in earlier posts. Now what does Gocharam or Transit means? It simply means the present planetary position at the time of examination..We all know the periods of stay of various planets in different Rasis. Like Jupiter stays in a Rasi for about 12 months. We also know Jupiter aspects the 5[SUP]th[/SUP] 7[SUP]th[/SUP] and 9[SUP]th[/SUP] houses. So what expects from the transit Jupiter is to aspect the Rasi which represents the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] house or 7[SUP]th[/SUP] lord of the chart in question. Same principle goes with Saturn( aspect 3rd 7th and 10th house) also. The event could be predicted like this. We know Saturn stays in a Rasi for 2 and half years, so it could aspect the concerned lord and house during these times and the same of Jupiter brings down it to one year and by corresponding Dasha/Antar-dasha/Pratyantar –Dasha we can bring this time span further down and to almost precise time schedule. This is only to show how to arrive at the time of delivery of a promise. There are many things to ensure whether there is a promise or not which will be explained in coming posts.

ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் பூமி நான்கு நிமிடங்களுக்கு ஒரு பாகை வீதம் சுழன்று கொண்டே வருகிறது. ஒரு நாளைக்கு 360 பாகை சுழல்கிறது. இவ்வாறு சுழன்று வரும்போது பூ மன்டலத்திலிருந்து பார்க்கும் போது கீழ் வானம் எந்த ராசியில் பூமியை சந்திப்பதாக தோன்றுகிறதோ அது தான் லக்னம்.

2. சாவமான ஆண்டு:- சூரியனை அடிபடையாக கொண்டது. முதல் நாள் சூரிய உதயத்திலிருந்து மறு நாள் சூரிய உதயம் முடிய ஒரு நாள். எனக்கொண்டு ஒரு ஆண்டிற்கு 360 நாட்கள் என வரும்
3. . இது தசா புக்தி கணக்கீடு முறைக்கு பயன் படுத்துகிறோம். வருஷாதிபதி மாதாதிபதி தினாதிபதி கண்டறியும் முறையிலும் இது உபயோக படுத்த படுகிறது.
4. சாந்திரமான ஆண்டு:- சந்திரனின் சஞ்சாரத்தை பொருத்தது .சுக்கில பக்ஷ ப்ரதமை முதல் அமாவாசை முடிய ஒரு மாதம். இந்த ஆண்டு 354 நாட்கள் கொண்டது.இதை சைத்ர மாதம்; வைசாகம்; ஜ்யேஷ்டம்; ஆஷாடம்; சிராவணம்; பாத்ரபதம்; ஆஸ்வினம்; கார்தீகம்; அக்ரஹாயனம்;பெளஷம்; மாக மாதம்; பால்குண மாதம் என் அழைக்கிறார்கள். இதையே சங்கல்ப மாதம் என்பர்.
5. நக்ஷத்திர ஆண்டு என்பது நக்ஷத்திரத்தை அடிபடையாக கொண்டது. 27 நக்ஷத்திரங்கள் ஒரு மாதம். 12 மாதங்களுக்கு 324 நாட்கள் கொண்ட ஓராண்டு.
6. பார்ஹஸ்பதி ஆண்டு. பார்ஹஸ்பதி என்றால் குரு பகவான். ஓராண்டில் ஒரு ராசியில் சஞ்சரிக்கும் காலம் 361 நாட்கள் கொண்டது ஓராண்டு.

யோகம்:- ஆகாயத்தில் ஒரு குறிப்பீட்ட இடத்திலிருந்து சூரினும் சந்திரனும் செல்லுகின்ற மொத்த தூரத்தை குறிப்பதாகும்..

In my view, it must be very hard for anyone to master all the rules that exist. Most believers cannot be expected learn enough to tell if an astrologer they are consulting is competent and scrupulous. Since it is now offered as a study area in universities it is good to have a review system and certification system for ethics and the rules.

With so much of in depth study of subjects related to advanced mathematics and astronomy,i involved, very few intellectuals will succeed in arriving true evaluation of horoscopes.

Gopalan Sir has provided some valuable information in his post no. 145 regarding delivery of promises by various planets which also is very important while deciding the time of delivery of any promise in charts. Will try my best to contribute more here. With strong support from Gopalan Sir, I don't think it is going to be a difficult task any more.

[h=3]Various YOGAS formed in charts.[/h]Combinations of different planets in Rashis causes formation of various Yogas. The most common of them are called Raja yogas. Raja yoga is formed if the lords of a kendra and a trikona house are in conjunction, mutually aspected or in reception. In other words it is a combination of good fortune (trikona house) and action (kendra house). Raja yoga could be formed by one planet, and also by two planets.

For example With an Aries ascendant, the Moon is lord of the fourth house and the Sun is lord of the fifth house. In case the Sun and the Moon are placed conjoined in a horoscope with an Aries ascendant, the two planets then form a raja yoga. In this case, the Moon is lord of a kendra house (the fourth) and the Sun is lord of a trikona house (the fifth).

There are literally thousands of these kinds of yogas. A good astrologer needs, a good memory to remember all these Yogas by heart. During this course, we shall discuss a number of yogas. Studying a horoscope for the presence of yogas presents an astrologer with new dimensions in horoscope interpretation. When you analyse a horoscope for the presence of yogas, as discussed below, you will quickly obtain insight into the principle components of a horoscope.

PANCHA MAHAPURUSHA YOGAS

Pancha mahapurusha yogas are yogas that are easy to find in a horoscope. To begin our analysis for this group of yogas, we note the position of the Lagna and the Moon.

The Moon is an exceptionally important planet in Vedic astrology, and for this reason, we can use the sign the Moon is in as an alternative to Lagnam. So the formation of yogas could be looked from Lagnam and from the Moon Chart i.e. keeping Moon Rasi as Lagnam. For instance, if we say that a certain planet must be placed in a kendra house to be considered as a planet making a yoga, the kendra house is calculated from either the ascendant or from the sign the Moon is in.

Example: We have a Moon placed in the fifth house. Kendra houses calculated from the ascendant are the first, fourth, seventh and tenth houses. Kendra houses calculated from the Moon in this example, are the fifth (first house calculated from the Moon), eighth (fourth house calculated from the Moon), eleventh (seventh house calculated from the Moon) and the second (tenth house calculated from the Moon) houses.

And now to the yogas and their consequences:

Ruchaka yoga: Mars in its own sign or in exaltation, and in a kendra house - brave, arrogant, the victor.
Bhadra yoga: Mercury in its own sign or in exaltation, and in a kendra house - intellectual, learned, rich.
Hamsa yoga: Jupiter in its own sign or in exaltation, and in a kendra house - religious, very fortunate.
Malavaya yoga: Venus in its own sign or in exaltation, and in a kendra house - wealthy, loves life, sometimes self-indulgent, good marriage, strong sense of justice.
Shasya yoga: Saturn in its own sign or in exaltation, and in a kendra house - powerful, strict, position of authority.

In short, the characteristics of a certain planet are strongly emphasized in a pancha mahapurusha yoga.

Example of a ruchaka yoga: Adolf Hitler had Mars in Aries in the seventh house. Mars is in its own sign (also a moolatrikona sign) and in a kendra house (the seventh house). How he used the ruchaka yoga is evident. This yoga need not be used is this manner. Many sports people have a ruchaka yoga in their horoscope.

A bhadra yoga enables a person to become good in commerce and communicating.

A hamsa yoga could be seen in the horoscope of a learned person, a clergyman or someone who has a lot of good fortune in his life.

We could expect a Malavaya yoga in the horoscope of a millionaire or a beauty queen. I found Malavya Yoga in horoscope of one the members of this forum which was send to me for my studies. Venus is in its own sign(Libra) in the Lagna. Although I have not met but from the correspondence made till now, I understand that this person must be reasonably rich and should also be looking pretty good. Famous personalities like Mahatma Gandhi & John F Kennedy had this yoga in their charts and their popularity and life styles are no secret to the world.

A shasya yoga is fitting for the horoscope of a politician or a director.

Let us not forget we find pancha mahapurusha yogas in the horoscopes of approximately of half the population, and certainly not everyone is famous. Only the appearance of such a yoga is by no means enough to warrant fame. Other aspects in the horoscope must also support this.

PARIVARTANA YOGAS

They are formed exchange of places by planets, i.e.planet one is placed in sign of planet two and vice versa. Parivartana in simple means exchange that's why this exchange. This exchange causes mutual influences on these planets and thus makes their characteristics stronger for the house they represent.
For eg., Mars placed in Taurus and Venus placed in Aries:- Here Mars is in Venus's sign and Venus has occupied a sign owned by Mars tjat dosen't mean that this is always a beneficial yoga. The result of this Yoga depends on the houses on which they are formed and planets involved and their lordship. The influence on this occasion is more or les like a conjunction making both the planets powerful to deliver the result as per their placement in the chart. That means if they are meant to deliver favors the favors will be delivered with a strong authority and also the same as in case of negative results. There are three types of Parivartana Yoga.

Dainya yoga: This yoga is formed when one of the planets involved in the yoga is lord of the sixth, eighth or twelfth house and hence are supposed to deliver unfavorable results. These are dushtana(malefic) houses that generally have an unfavourable influence. In most cases, the lord of the sixth, eighth or twelfth house will be strengthened by the benefic influence of the other planet which means malefic will become powerful and benefic will lose its beneficial powers. However, the other planet involved in this yoga is always damaged.

Eg. When Sagittarius is on the ascendant(Lagna), the Moon is lord of the eighth house and the Sun is lord of the ninth house. Should the Moon be in Leo and the Sun in Cancer, then we have a dainya parivartana yoga. In this case, the Sun will be damaged because it has to battle with the difficult energy of the eighth house. The Moon however, will get a boost from the influence of the favourable ninth house energy.

A possible interpretation for the lord of the eighth house when it is favourably influenced: Perhaps the person involved here will receive an inheritance (eighth house) from his father (ninth house), or he may be a teacher (ninth house) of psychology (eighth house).

A possible interpretation for the lord of the ninth house when it is unfavourably influenced: Probably this person's father (ninth house) has had a problematical life because the lord of the ninth house has been affected by the influence of the lord of the eighth house, which has to do with all kinds of problems. In addition, it is possible that his good fortune (lord of the ninth house) will be tainted (influence of the lord of the eighth house). Our former Prime minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi had 3 different Parivartana Yogas in her chart and we all know how she had the ups and downs in here Political carrier. She had her Saturn in Cancer, Lagna (Moons Rashi) and Moon in Capricorn, 7th house (Saturn's Rasi) then Venus in Sagittarius(6th house) and Jupiter in Taurus (11th House) and Mars in Leo (3rd House) and Sun Scorpio (5th house) .

Kahala yoga: This occurs when one of the planets involved in this yoga is lord of the third house. The other planet may not be lord of the sixth, eighth or twelfth house (because we then have a dainya yoga). The third house is the house of energy and strength.There is another version also that is " if the lords of the 9th and the 4th be in kendra positions with respect to each other and if the lord of the Lagna is strong, the yoga produced is Kahala" A Kahala yoga would mean that the person involved would invest a lot of energy and vigor in improving his circumstances and also be noble, able and dynamic, possess a radiant personality, and command a well-equipped army and lord over cities and villages.

Eg: If Taurus is on the ascendant, the Moon is lord of the third house and Saturn lord of the ninth and tenth houses. Supposing the Moon is in Capricorn and Saturn in Cancer. Then we have a Kahala yoga. This person will put a lot of energy (third house) into his career (tenth house) and into broadening his horizons (ninth house).

Maha yoga: When a Parivartana yoga occurs between the lords of the first, second, fourth, fifth, seventh, ninth, tenth or eleventh houses, we have a maha yoga. The lords of the third, sixth, eighth or twelfth houses may not be involved, because then we would have either a dainya yoga or a kahala yoga. This yoga enriches the planets involved.
