You are talking of a gender difference..Son's holding lot of reverence for the Mother and daughter having high opinion of the Dad..
Ultimately we should salute our parents for sailing through sea of adversities to give us the best.
As far as treating all the world's children as our own and show love and compassion is a wonderful manifestation of a divine soul...Such a person would command universal reverence and recognition through out the spiritual world
Dear sir,
Most of us love our parents the same and do not see the difference between mother and father.
As we age I dont think we get too close to anyone. Not that we stop loving anyone but its just that dont want to get too involved with anyone besides doing the stipulated duties of being there when anyone needs us.
Thats why I feel the bond of any sort of love loosens as we age..so that we are mentally prepared for the grave.
Its not being pessimistic but just a retrospective study of humans and emotions.
For example..just notice any young baby..its dependent 100% on parents,
when a child is bigger he get independent and less dependent on parents,he acquires knowledge(dependent on teacher and co students).
then he gets married..dependent for love from spouse and the has children..and then life moves to a different stage as a person grows older.
I feel our religion prepares us to be less sentimental in life hence prescribed the Four stages of life.
1)Brahmacarya
2)Grishasta
3)Vanaprastha
4)Sanyas
Mentally religion prepares us for the ultimate journey of self realization. We ourselves hardly realize that we are actually loosening some bonds in our life.
No one actually holds on to anything too tight finally.
