தாமோதர குணமந்திர ஸூந்தரவதநாரவிந்த
பவஜலதி மதந மந்தர பரமந்தரம் அபநய த்வம் மே

தாமோதர என்பதற்கு மட்டும் அர்த்தம் பார்க்கலாம்.

ஸ்ரீ விஷ்ணுவின் 12 நாமாக்களில் இங்கு 2 நாமாக்களை ஸ்ரீ ஆசார்யாள்
கூறுகிறார். - தாமோதர , கோவிந்த.

தாமம் என்றால் கயிறு. உதிரம் என்றால் வயிறு. இது சேர்ந்து தாமோதர
ஆயிற்று. கயிற்றால் கட்டப்பட்ட வயிற்றை உடையவன்.
சிறு பிராயத்தில் கண்ணனை யசோதை அவனைக் கட்ட முயற்ச்சித்தாள்.
பகவானைக் கட்டமுடியுமா !

அவனே அவள் அன்புக்குக் கட்டு்ப்பட்டு தாமாகவே கயிற்றில் கட்டுப்பட்டார். ஆகவே ' நான் ' அவனிடம் பக்தியால் சரணடைந்து கட்டுப்பட்டால், அவன் நமக்குக் கட்டுப்படுவான்.

' தாம ; என்றால் உலகை முழுவதும் கட்டும் கயிறு என்று ஒரு பொருள்
உண்டு. அதாவது மாயை. அந்த மாயை ஸ்ரீ பகவானுடைய சொரூபத்தில்
கற்பிதமாக இருப்பதால், தாமோதர என்றும் அழைப்பதுண்டு.

ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணன் ஒரு தடவை மண்ணைத் தின்றபோது யசோதை அவனிடம் எங்கே வாயைக் காட்டு என்றாள். அவன் வாயைத் திறந்தான். உள்ளே மாயையாள் கட்டுப்பட்ட அண்ட சராசரங்களும் தெரிந்தன. அதனால் தாமோதர என்று அவனை அழைப்பார்கள்.

அவன் நமது ஸம்ஸாரக் கட்டை அவிழ்ப்பவன்.

In Narayaneeyam it is described in detail how when Yasodha tried

to tie up Krishna, she found the cord falling short by two inches.

More and more cords were attached but it was the same story.

The coir always fell short by two inches. Yasodha became

tired, ashamed and sad. Then Krishna decided to get tied up by her.

Whoever contemplates on this bondage will be relieved of his

bondage in Life by his karma and Maya.

Please download 'rich text' in g mail. It is free.
It allows you to type in English and that can be made to appear in any Indian language (by selecting the language.)
It is very easy and simple.
In case you do not get the word you wanted, you can click the mouse on that wrong word and more options will appear in a small box.
One on them will be the correct one. Just by clicking on the right word, you can replace the wrong word. Try it. good luck.

It might already be there and you may not be aware of it.
Every time I open a new account in g mail, I find that rich text is there already.
You can check up now in your g mail.
Please take the compose mail page.
You will the options of the font, font size, color, bold, italics, etc along a row.
The first letter in that row can be either அ (or the first alphabet of any Indian language.)
If it is there you can click on it and select Tamil. Thereafter by clicking on the அ you can type in English and make the words appear in Tamil.
It must be there I am sure-if you are unable to download it.
