நீண்ட நாட்களுக்குப் பின் பதிவிடுகிறேன். சரியான பதிலை யாராவது தந்திருக்க கூடும். இருப்பினும் இதோ: குமாரத்தி என்பது ஒரு கல்யாணம் ஆகாத பெண்ணை பொதுவாக குறிப்பிடும். புத்ரி என்பது ஒருவரின் குறிப்பிட்ட கல்யாணம் ஆகிய அல்லது ஆகாத பெண்ணை குறிக்கும்.

Both are Sanskrit words. Kumari is young pre-pubescent girl or unmarried girl and Puthri is daughter.

'குமாரி', 'புத்ரி' இவற்றின் வித்தியாசம்
அழகாகச் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறது!
'எனது' என்பது உயிரற்ற பொருட்களுக்கு உரிமை கோருவதாகும்.
உதாரணம்:

'என் குமாரி', 'என் புத்ரி', 'என் தந்தை', 'என் அன்னை' என்பவையே சரியானவை!
ஆனால், இந்த வேறுபாட்டைப் பலரும் கண்டுகொள்ளுவதில்லை!

வடக்கே "கும்வாரி" அல்லது "கும்வாரா" என்ற சொல் பழக்கத்தில் உள்ளது. அதிலிருந்து தமிழில் வந்திருக்க வேண்டும். இதன் பொருள் மணமாகாத எனப்படும்.
?!?!. Putri is putri even after 10 marriages. Kumari is no more Kumari even after illicit marriage.

I think it is "puth": Puth naama naraketi trayate iti putrah. புத்து என்னும் நரகத்திலிருந்து காப்பாற்றுபவனே புத்ரன். எப்படி எனில் 16 கர்மானுஷ்டானங்களால் கரையேற்றுபவன்.

Kumāri is any unmarried girl / woman.
