Dear PrasadJi,

I have to strongly disagree here.
Abortion is NOT=Amputation.

Doctors only amputate limbs that are gangrenous and which can cause widespread damage to the normal parts of the body..in other words Amputation is done for a Pathological condition.

A fetus is NOT a Pathology.A fetus is a living individual with a soul and heart and mind.
A fetus needs our protection and that's why God chose to shelter fetuses in a uterus for 40 weeks.

Just to add..in the medical field now we are NOT allowed to call pregnant woman Patients when they seek antenatal care.
We are only supposed to address them as a pregnant mother.
Cos the word patient is used when there is a person who is ill with a disease.
Pregnancy is NOT a disease so now for all practical purposes we are not allowed to call or document any pregnant lady case notes using the word Patient.

Thalidomide children. Many mothers went for abortion. But the children born and who became adults, had a different story to tell. They were happy to be alive and worshipped their parents who took a different stand and the society which helped them to achieve their potential.

Dear Renuka,

What a great relief to me, reading what you have said above!!!!!!!

For a very very long time, I used to feel sick when I hear pregnant women being called as Patients in hospitals.

If pregnant women are called Patients, obviously such pregnant mother out of wedlock would consider herself as a patient with some very serious health issues and need to be rescued by termination. Otherwise of which she will ever remain a chronic patient. She would then realize that this sickness though acquired can be well treated with all care and sympathy by doctors. So, nothing to worry if again got infected out of some thing that is so desirable.

Dear Ravi,

You will be surprised to know that the statistics of married woman who go in for abortions are higher than unmarried woman.

You see a married person has regular supply of sex so her chances of getting pregnant are higher.

An unmarried sexually active person sometimes does not get regular supply and has to go on the prowl looking for a kill.
So chances of her getting pregnant are less.

Sometimes owing to fear, whether married (if husband's or family member's consent
is not available) or unmarried, if abortions are resorted to through pills secretly, (as
the affected person may not be able to get admitted as as inpatient) one can
imagine the fate of the child?

Is it correct that thalidomide, a sort of pain killer (if I am correct) is prescribed
to pregnant woman who suffer from morning sickness particularly nausea and
vomiting associated with pregnancy.
