"Beware of Risks arising out of Mobile Phones"?

Can current travel through Flash light of camera to your body? yes it is 100% true

Dear friends,
With deep pains (and tears in my eyes), i am sorry to inform You that yesterday morning, one of my dear friend's elder son (Mr. Aditya Suresh Joshi), age 19, studying in 1st year of engineering, died in Keshvani Hospital, Mumbai. He was admitted in Keshavani Hospital as burned patient.
Reason
4 days back this boy had gone to Amravati (One of the district place located in State of Maharashtra ) on study tour. After their study was over, he, his classmates & his teachers, all of them were standing on "Badnera" railway station to catch the train. "Badnera" is the name of the railway station for " Amravati " city.As soon as they arrived on Badnera Railway station, many of them started taking pictures of their friends using "Mobile Phones" and/or "Digital Camera". One of them complained that, in his camera, he was not able to capture more number of friends in one frame. He was not able to catch the angle. Another boy suggested that let's climb on train boogie and take picture so that all of them can be accommodated in single frame.
At that there was one goods wagon (all of them were oil tankers) train resting between 2 main railway lines.
Kumar Aditya climbed up oil boogie. Above his head, 40,000 volts electrical line was passing through. As soon as he clicked the digital camera? 40,000 volt current passed through the camera flash light to his camera and then from his camera to his fingers and then from his fingers to his body. All this happened within fraction of minutes. Next moment he was thrown from the top. His body was half burned on the spot.
At that time, his father (my friend) was traveling in Bangkok . His many friends in Pune came to know about this via mobile SMS. They instantly arranged air ambulance in Amravati and his burned body was brought to Keshavani Hospital , Mumbai. i was told that this is the best hospital in Mumbai. For 1 and 1/2 day or so he was talking to his relatives. When he was admitted to the hospital, at that time only, doctor informed his relatives that don't keep great hopes. Because of lot of complex issues in half burned body? He died yesterday morning.

· Now how many of us are aware about this technological threats & dangers? Honestly, Kumar Aditya and his father was not aware. His family was not aware. Our entire friend circle of more than 12,000, we were not aware. Now should we call ourselves as fully educated and fully knowledgeable people? Please Think of it.

· Please avoid mobile phones on petrol outlets.
· Please avoid talking on mobile phones while driving. I also know many of my friends who do not bother about this good suggestion and each one of them have opted for "Chalta Hai Yaar Attitude".
· Please avoid talking on mobile phones while they are in charging mode.
· Please avoid charging mobile phones near Your bed and/or near wooden furniture. Avoid mobile phones near high voltage electrical lines like railway stations and use flash lights.

· My friend, his family members and we all friends learned our lesson with loss of young life. Now Would You like to empower Your friends about this accident so as to avoid future accidents? We can save human life by empowering all the IT users who are in Your network?
· i have done "My Karma {with deep pains & tears in my eyes}" by empowering You about this horrible experience.
·
· What can we do ?
·

Please Please.....I request you to send this very important life threatening
information to your loved ones.....

I am really shocked to read the incident. Definitely I shall pass on the message to my email contacts.

There was one incident in which the mobile phone, kept under the pillow exploded in a very strong lightning, killing the owner instantly. So, better to keep moble phones safely away, especially when there is lightning.

Actually this happened on feb 15 , 2010.

It is sad that in India safety is given a back seat. We believe our "Vidhi" or Karma will save us?

If you really look at this - it is just not the technology danger - It is the utter disregard for the rules which are framed - climbing the bogey! Mobile phones are not designed for that - We need not know all big technological dangers. If we know we have to follow simple rules, big dangers will take care of themselves.

.Some how "Nothing will happen to us" is the mentality I have seen in the Indian behaviour while flouting the rules.

Kids should be taught about safety first. The other day a saw a woman jumping a signal in Bangalore with 2 kids (one on the front standing and one on the back sitting - herself without a helmet! My heart stopped for a moment.

When I taught driving to my wife only one important piece of advice I gave her:

"A good driver is one who not only avoids his/her own mistakes, but also that of others while on the road".

It is a common Indian attitude now that flouting or violating any rule is heroism. Any youngster who tends to obey rules is looked down upon as some "ammAnji-type", "thoDai naTungi" or "chOpLAngi" by his friends.

I read somewhere that this is a change brought about by the civil disobedience movement of the last century which made people who flouted the (then British Government) rules as patriots and heros.

I remember my late chithappa taking about driving in Chennai - Not only you have to follow rules, you have to assume that no body is going to follow the rules!

Dear Revathi, people always say you need special skills to drive in Chennai, perphaps everywhere else in India as well. But, I vehemently disagree.

IMO, it is easy to drive in Chennai, nobody follows any rules and anything goes. But, in the west, you need to follow the rules, you need to know when to stop and when to yield (anyone in India knows what this means?), who has the right of way, you need to know how to change lanes (is there lane sense in India?), you need to know how to enter a highway and how to exit, and a myriad of other rules that has to become second nature to the driver.

I think anyone can drive in India, all you need is a minimum level of incivility and a feel for the steering wheel. Not so in the west, you break a rule and you jeoprdice not just your life, but many more as well who didn't bargain for itl.

Cheers!

IN this particular example, the use of Mobile phone as camera is cited as the main reason for burning. As an electrical engineer, I wish to clarify that it need not be a mobile phone for accidents. For any high tension conductor, there is a radius of influence around and humans should not enter into this radius. The technical term is called "Clearance" from the nearest object to the High tension line.
We have HT lines passing near residential buildings and I have seen many roof tops / balconies near to a live HT conductor. People who go into the proximity of HT lines should be careful as the electromagnetic influence covers a larger radius depending on the voltage rating.
The youngsters in this example have encroached the danger zone to make a photo click - this is the primary mistake. An electric arc can pass through human body and burn it and a mobile phone is not needed for making such an accident.

Will you please the change the title to : Dangers of climbing on the roof of trains?
