Does it become obligatory on the part of the son to perform the annual devasham ritual for his paternal grandmother, when both his parents are alive but not in a position to do so (Father is depressed and mother is bedridden).

Can the son be the karta when the father is alive ?

Does it suffice to give raw banana and rice to the vadhyar ?

Your sastrigal can do after getting kai pull from your father . your vadhyar can arrange for it. Grand son also can do after getting kai pull from his father and can do. rice and plantain kaai is not enough.
