I saw this on Thanthi tv some days back. Though the DK principles are somewhat fanatical, there was one particular area that I had to agree - The feeling of superiority of the upper castes over the lower, so much so that even a upper caste young lad would say "dey" while addressing an old lower caste. If I am not wrong, it is in vogue even today in the rural areas and amongst the "power packed" gounders, naidus etc.

The challlenge, albeit against the brahmin, helped to cut loose some shackles in those days... because of which we are on the negotiating table now.
