Terming the September 13 by-election to the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat an “immoral” and wasteful exercise, Tushar Gandhi, great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, on Monday called for electoral reforms to prohibit candidates from contesting two seats in one election.


“This by-election is immoral necessitated only because of the ego of one person [Mr. Modi]. It has been forced on the electorate. This is a betrayal of the massive mandate that the people gave him. It is high time that reforms were carried out and candidates allowed to contest only one seat,” Mr. Gandhi told The Hindu.

My opinion is not based on my bias, i am not for or against any candidate. It is about wasteful practice.

The election is over .. all that matters are results at the end of 5 years ..
Great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi is not an earned title and so his comments and opinions are irrelevant for now

Perhaps his NGO is did not get its monthly cheque from abroad. It seems the govt has quietly instructed the reserve bank that all foreign contributions to ngos have to be whetted and cleared by the govt.

Gandhi's vamsavali has inherited all his bad qualities and did not inherit his virtues.
