i think 'vasai' is more a thanjavur word, us palghat folks use 'thittu' as a rule ...

As soon as she saw the 'thittu' (tiny thiNNai') in front of the house, she exclaimed,

'Ah! indhath thittu mattum enakkup pidikkum!'. A nice fun pun!!

When she was a kid, she used to go round and round that thittu, holding on to the three pillars erected above that!
