............. Even if one is not searching for anything, it is possible to have interesting conversations if responses actually show understanding (not necessarily agreement) of what is already stated.

Often it is about misunderstanding, arising out of projecting own thoughts instead of what is stated that becomes the basis for arguments in this forum. Or the stated misunderstanding may be deliberate in order to stick to a positional argument.

So if there is a genuine game , there can be fun even in simple chit-chat.

Often it is not, in which case silence is a better option. ....

Sir,

This is what I have been stressing from the very beginning.

Of course while I agree that we need to learn lot from animals, but my stand is that we human cannot be compared with that of animals as has been argued.

Incidentlly I would like to share the following:

24 Gurus of Dattatreya – Gurus and subordinate Gurus

For details click: https://www.hindujagruti.org/hinduism/why-did-shri-datta-acquire-knowledge-from-twenty-four-gurus

May be some try to see the world upside down like bats....!

Sri VB,

Every being in this universe is unique with its own special attributes.

In the context of living our daily lives nature and its being provides clues to live intelligently. Often our physical designs like planes are based on the way a bird flies for example.

Humans endowed with Viveka end up squandering this endowment by learning all the wrong things until they die ! The only discipline needed is to get our mind in a state such that we can exercise Viveka in our life.

In this context, I am reminded of this song which has deep meanings. The literal meaning is kind of funny.

When I read this thread...I remember this song.

Bats hang upside down...but it does not really make a difference cos they have poor vision but not entirely blind as commonly thought..so they do not see the world upside down.

In fact the image transmitted to the retina of man is actually upside down and the visual centre corrects it perception and we see images in normal orientation.

Therefore its the human that gets his images upside down and needs the brain to correct it.

So who is really upside down? Human or the Bat?

Very true, Renu! :)

Let us brush up our science by one of the google images:

Will a creature laugh instinctly at a human being if it has a soul?

Kadavul paathi,
Mirigam paathi,
Kalanthu seytha,
Kalavai naan,

Manithan enbavan deivam aagalam
A human can become god.

vaari vaari vazhangumpodhu vallal agalam
vaalai pola thannai thanthu thyagi agalam
urugi odum melugu pola olaiyaai veesalam. When he gives ( unconditionally and without any selfishness ( in scoops and heaps) ), he becomes a king (philanthropist),
Just like a banana tree ( whose every part is useful – signifying ultimate sacrifice) , one could sacrifice for the good of people and be remembered as a great human,
he could spread light ( all goodness and positive energy), like the wax in the candle that melts itself to spread light.
oorukenru vaalntha nenjam silaigalagalam
uravukenru virindha ullam malargalagalam
the hearts (people) that lived for the welfare of the society may become (noble) statues ( as a mark of respect),
a person who opens up (helps in need) for a relationship will bear a heart that is as beautiful and pure as the beautiful flowers. ( emphasizing the importance of helping people around oneself and the concept of inclusion)
yaarukenru aludhapodhum thalaivanagalam
manam manam adhu kovil aagalam
When one cries for the problems of others and gives a helping hand, he becomes a great leader,
such a heart with all these qualities, becomes a temple.
manam irundhal paravai koottil mangal vaalalam
vali irundhal kadugukulle malaiyaai kaanalam
If you have the heart then even in a bird’s nest you can accommodate a deer ( emphasizing that you are never too small to help, its all in the mindset),
if you have the vision/can see the path, then even in a grain of mustard ( something so small) you can envision a mountain ( something big) ( means that even in/with small thing , you can achieve great heights),
thunindhu vittal thalaiyil endha sumaiyum thangalam
gunam gunam adhu kovil agalam
if you dare, then you can carry any amount of burden on your head ,
such a virtue or trait , will be considered equivalent to a temple

There are many dog lovers who prefer to keep their dogs home in preferance to humans who are their relatives.

Dog show more loyalty and devotion to their masters[humans].

For many it is their only companion at the end of their lives.

There is no point in posting images of animals laughing. The question is above soul repeat it is about soul.

Now why humans are created in God's image?

That is my pic...I was laughing a lot and decided to post it.

Now coming to the soul...the Soul is an Unknown Entity.....none of us really know anything about it...I call it the Unknown.

We assume we are created in God's image that is we assume God looks human...but what if God is not really a human form?

None of us have seen Him with our eyes for we can NOT see Him with our eyes.

Indian artist draw God like an Indian..South Indian artist give God and Goddesses curly black hair.

But what if God looks like a a Nordic or a Greek or African?

We do not really know...for just like our Soul..God too is Unknown.

No one really knows the Unknown,
A journey all hope to eventually go,
What is beholds, remains the greatest mystery,
We assume its Existence,Consciousness,Bliss.

Well enshrouded by the Cosmic Deluder,
Spun like a spider a web of three colors,
What are we to destroy this bond with?
To emerge a chrysalis from the cocoon of existence.

Free to fly like a butterfly,
Yet tempted by the fragrance of desire,
Is there really a journey of no return?
After having sailed the ocean of sorrow and trouble.

The road to the Unknown can never be found,
By the light all see around.
Look within,not with your eyes,
Wake up Human...you are totally blind.

When the journey ends, truth will dawn,
There was no journey but just a run around,
Realize that there is nothing really to search,
Drop that ....For human..you are still in a lurch.

Love towards animals is different.

The subject discussed is about supremacy of human beings.

Supremacy is Mada.

Pride...it comes under the Shad Ari Varga...6 enemies of humans.

This feeling has to be dropped...otherwise there is no use calling ourselves seekers of truth.

The human has a hard time letting go of his/her status as highest on the food chain.

A human does not want to be dethroned and prefers to imagine he/she is divine.

Delusion of Grandeur is not easy to handle.

Most of early avathars of vishnu are part animal and part man.

Recently we celebrated Ganapathi [part elephant, part human] festival.

To glorify human alone as divine and special creation of God if there is one shows narrow thinking.

Kannadasans lyrics about what a human could become by his actions is nice no doubt. It only expresses his thinking on what is possible for humans and not what

they are in real life.

All beings have their plus minus.

No need to glorify one over the other.

Well said...You are really opening everyone's eyes.

.

We live in India
We belongs to Hinduism
We have fair knowledge about our God
Unlike animals we have free will

We believe we have souls
We believe we are God’s beloved creation.
And hence we believe we are supreme.

Discipline is an internal thing rather than an external. Whatever forced discipline, will not last long.

Don't drag Gods here

We are discussing about human beings.

Nobody said human being is divine.

Why forget to mention about Karni Mata temple at Rajasthan?

God created the human in his own image. This is a Christian concept.According to our literature, our earthly creations all came from god or goddess and when they entered this world, they got mingled in the quagmire of Maya and forgotten about itself. In this way only, we are selfish and always looking for our own survival than the survival of others. This only led to all degradation and not any religious doctrines.Whoever followed if they are brilliant or adored by all established the supremacy of their own doctrine.

One can live in Africa or Saudi Arabia,
One can belong to any religion,
No one has any knowledge about God,
Even animals have free will..they are not brain dead,
Everything has souls..not only humans,
God has no favorites...He does not favor only humans,
If you believe you are Supreme that is totally Blasphemous!

Greek Gods look maximum masculine.

They have animal attraction for all women

Indian women pray to snakes.

They put milk in their abode.

There is nothing that indicates that hindus alone have superior Gods.

Of course people are free to have their beliefs and live in a world of their own
