Tamil Nadu Vazhga!

No such thing that Malayalis are more cultured and educated than those in TN.

Its just a difference in taste of type of movies.

In TN people are crazy about Thalaiva and the Film Industry and in Kerala they are crazy about Shakila and the Porn Industry.

Just type in You Tube..Hot Mallu Aunty and you would come to Mallu sites with overweight totally out of shape buxom females with bulging abdomens in action!LOL

BTW Malaysia still wins...Air Asia had a contest to promote Kabali cos Air Asia is one of the sponsors and Air Asia India painted planes with Rajini's pic on it ..then Air Asia Malaysia contest winner would get free flight to Chennai to watch Kabali.

In Msia everyone is excited about Kabali too... cos it was filmed here and a local Malay actor too has a short stint in it.

correction!. It is not like only porn rules Malayalam movie industry..They also have taste for good classical movies as well. Malayalam movies and artists have won the maximum of national awards. Almost every hero and heroins of Malayalam movie industry have won national awards. 30 to 35% revenue of Tamil movies also are attributable to 3 and a half crores+ malayalies.

Yes. It is also the reason why a popular Carnatic Musician acted in a Tamil movie titled with a famous raga in mid 1980 but failed miserably at the box office.

GNB/MS also acted in Tamil movie.

We are not crazy! We like dabankuttu! So be it! It is our taste! We have different tastes in TN...Cinema goers support songs rendered in a classical raga too...Have we not got mesmerized by Vaseegara rendered by Bombay Jayshree...Keralites overwhelmingly support the porn industry that floods the Cimema Halls from Kashmir to Kanyakumari! May be that is part of their culture?

Overpricing of tickets for Kabali... and it is reported that theatres flout norms and officials warn of action....

The economics of Kabali: What happens if Thalaivar's movie flops?

Will it be Lingaa Part 2, if the movie doesn’t perform well?

A hardcore Rajinikanth fan would tell you that is impossible that a Rajini film flops.

But they said the same ahead of Baba and Lingaa, and yet, the movies did not do as well, incurring huge losses to the distributors who then ran to Rajini to save them from their financial misfortune.

Tamil movies make money from different avenues. The biggest chunk of the profits come from theatrical rights sold for Tamil Nadu. Apart from that, dubbing rights are sold for other languages like Telugu and Hindi, Tamil rights in other states in India, and for international markets like US, Europe, Middle East and South East Asia.

Further, TV rights will also bring in money after the release of the movie. Finally, money could be made from marketing deals with corporate brands and other miscellaneous channels like merchandise.

True!

Salma Khan releases his movie on Eid, because it is a Holiday!

Thalaivar releases a movie on any day & it becomes a Holiday!

In delhi cinemas kabali tickets are easily available even for first show tomorrow.

I am not sure whether I should go for it.

My wife says she would prefer younger actors

Never tried shakila movies though.

I believe she has a big fan following.

Wasted adult life.lol

Seen most of Rays' films.

Like his 'Mahanagar, charulatha.

Dear Krish ji,
We all know what a normal Rajini movie would be like. Don't think much about. Movies are simply there to make you enjoy for a couple of hours. Don't expect any class from it, of course if you get it that will be an additional bonus (like what you enjoy in Ray movies). In my opinion, going to a movie is neither a gain nor a loss, it is simply time pass!!

Ganeshji
I am not much discriminating.

Tomorrow is a working day.

No sense in wasting it in kabali

Day after can be tried.

I can take a call tomorrow.

I do not plan much in advance.

Shakila was supposed to release a book about her scandals with high ranking politicians in South India..wonder what happened to the release of the book!LOL

May be that could be made into a movie.
