மாயக் கண்ணாடி!





அழகிய வடிவுடைய ஒரு கண்ணாடி,
அழகினைக் காட்டும் மிகத் தெளிவாக;
தூசுகள் படிந்து அது மாசு அடைந்தால்,
துளியும் நமக்கு பயன் தராது அன்றோ?

ஆத்மா ஒரு அழகிய கண்ணாடி!
அற்புதமான, அதிசயமான, அரியதான,
ஜீவாத்மாவுக்கு அது தேடும் அந்த
பரமாத்மாவைக் காட்டும் கண்ணாடி!

கண்ணாடியை மறைப்பவை தூசுகள்.
ஆத்மாவை மறைப்பவை மன மாசுகள்!
விருப்பு, கோப, தாபங்கள், பேராசை,
வெறுப்பு, மயக்கம், மதம் போன்றவை.

அழகைக் கண்ணாடியில் காண்பதற்கு,
துடைக்கணும் அதிலுள்ள தூசுகளை;
அவனை ஆன்மாவில் காண விழைந்தால்,
துடைக்கணும் அதிலுள்ள மாசுகளை.

தூசினைத் துடைத்து அகற்றிட தேவை,
துணித் துண்டு சிறியது ஒன்று மட்டுமே.
மன மாசினைத் துடைத்து, அகற்றிட நாம்
மாயங்கள் என்ன என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும்?

தியானம், தவம், சுத்தம், நேர்மை,
தியாகம், பக்தி போன்றவைகளே;
மன மாசினைத் துடைக்கவல்ல,
மாயத் துணித் துண்டுகள் ஆகும்.

மாசினை அகற்றும் மாயம் அறிந்தோம்;
மாயம் அறிந்ததால், முனைந்து, முயன்று,
தூசினைத் துடைத்த கண்ணாடியைப் போல்
மாசில்லாத மனத்தினைப் பெற்றிடுவோம்!

மாசில்லாத மனமே அமைதி கொள்ளும்;
மாசில்லாத மனமே பூலோக வைகுந்தம்;
மாசில்லாத மனமே ஊழ் வினை ஒழிக்கும்;
மாசில்லாத மனமே பிறவிப்பிணி அறுக்கும்! !

The root chakra holds all the dormant energy in the form of Kundalini.

So we were taught that we should start by concentrating on the
Moolaadhaara chakra and move upwards slowly awakening each higher chakra, till we reach the Ajna chakra or the eye brow center.

Reaching the Sahasraara to enjoy the bliss of divine presence and the nectar, depends on the luck of the person-his seriousness, sradhdha and His divine blessing.

ருசியும், வாசனையும் உணவுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல;
ருசியும், வாசனையும் பிறவிக்கும் தேவை.

மணக்க மணக்க உண்டபின், ருசி நாவிலும்,
மணம் கையிலும், நெடு நேரம் தங்கிவிடும்.

அனுபவித்த பொருட்களின் பலவிதத் தாக்கம்,
மனதினில் மாறாமல் நிலை கொண்டிருக்கும்.

நமக்கு பிடித்த பொருட்களில், நமக்கு ருசி;
நமக்கு அவை வேண்டுமென்ற அவா, வாசனை.

நாம் எடுக்கும் பிறவிகள் அனைத்துமே,
நம் ருசி, வாசனைகளைப் பொறுத்தவையே !

இசையில் ஆர்வம், நடனத்தில் நாட்டம் ,
இயலில் ஆர்வம், நாடகத்தில் நாட்டம் ,

கலைகளில் நாட்டம் , கற்பதில் ஆர்வம்,
சிலை வடிப்பதில் சிந்தனை என நம்மால்,

காரணம் கூற முடியாத ஆசைகளை, நம்
கண்மணிகளிடம் நாம் காண்கின்றோமே!

எங்கிருந்து வந்தன இந்த ஆர்வங்கள்?
எப்படி உண்டாயின இந்த நாட்டங்கள்?

பூர்வ ஜன்மத்து ருசியும், வாசனையும்,
ஆர்வமாய் அவரைப் பின்தொடருவதாலே!

நல்ல ருசிகளையும், நல்ல வாசனைகளையும்,
நாமும் நித்தம் மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

இப்பிறவியில் மட்டுமின்றி அவை எல்லாம் ,
எப்பிறவியிலும் நமக்கு பயக்கும் நன்மையே.

உத்தம குரு!





இறையருள் பெற நாம் எண்ணும்போதே,
இறையருளால் உத்தம குருவும் வருவார்!
நாம் நாடித் தேடிச் சென்றிடும் முன்பே,
நம்மைத் தேடி வந்து விடுவார் அவரே!

உத்தம குரு வெறும் மனிதர் அல்ல,
இறையே அந்த குரு வடிவு எடுக்கும்!
உத்தம குருவும் இறையும் ஒன்றென
விரைவில் நாம் விளங்கிக் கொள்வோம்.

மந்திரங்கள் காதுகளில் உபதேசிப்பார்;
மனதில் வைராக்கியத்தை வளர்ப்பார்;
அறிவில் விவேகம்தனை விதைப்பார்;
ஆன்மாவில் நாட்டம் கொள்ளச் செய்வார்.

ஜீவாத்மாவையும், அது அலைந்து தேடிடும்
பரமாத்மாவையும், குரு சேர்த்து வைப்பார்;
பார்வை அற்றவனுக்கு வழி காட்டுவது போல,
நேர்மை மாறாத நல்வழியில் நம்மை நடத்துவார்.

கங்கையைப் போலப் புனிதமானவர் குரு;
விந்தைகள் பலப்பல புரிய வல்லவர் குரு;
நிந்தனையால் அவர் உள்ளம் மாறுபடார்;
சிந்தனைச் சிற்பி என்பவரே நல்ல குரு.

மூன்று வகை வைத்தியர்கள் உண்டு;
மூன்று வகையினர் குருவும் ஆவர்.
அதமம், மத்யமம், உத்தமம் என நாம்,
அறியும் வகைகள் உண்டு இரண்டிலும்.

முதல் வகை வைத்தியர், நாடியைச் சோதித்து,
மருந்தை அளித்து விட்டுச் சென்று விடுவார்.
முதல் வகை குரு நல்ல முறையில் போதித்து,
“மகனே! இனி உன் சமர்த்து!” என்றிடுவார்.

இரண்டாம் வகை வைத்தியர் மருந்தை,
வற்புறுத்தி, வலியுறுத்தி உண்ண வைப்பார்.
இரண்டாம் வகை குரு, இனிய சொற்களால்,
வற்புறுத்தி, நம்மை நல்வழிப்படுத்துவார்.

அடுத்த வகை வைத்தியர் நம்மை, ”பாடு
படுத்தி”யேனும் மருந்தைச் செலுத்துவார்.
பலப்பிரயோகம் செய்தேனும் நம்மை,
நலம்பட வாழ்விப்பவரே ஒரு உத்தம குரு.

குருவருளும், இறைஅருளும் ஒன்றாய்க்
கூடி வரும்போது, நம் உலக வாழ்வில்
குறை இன்றிக் கோரினவை கைக்கூடும்.
குருவை வரவேற்கத் தயாராகுங்கள்!

கலியின் இருப்பிடங்கள்.

ஒரு நாள் மன்னன் பரீக்ஷித்து கண்டது,
ஒரு கால் எருதினை அடிக்கும் மனிதனை;
அருகினில் ஒரு பசு உருவினில் பூமகள்,
அருவியாய்ப் பெருகிடும் கண்ணீர் வழிந்திட;

முதல் யுகமான கிருத யுகத்தினில்,
முழு எருதாக இருந்தது தர்ம தேவதை.
தவம், ஆசாரம், தயை, சத்யம் என்ற
தன் கால்கள் ஒவ்வொன்றாய் இழந்து;

கலியுகத்தில் சத்யம் என்னும் ஒரே
காலுடன் தடுமாறுகின்றது தர்மம்.
தடியால் அடிப்பவனே கலிபுருடன்,
தாங்க முடியவில்லை மன்னனுக்கு.

“இனி என் நாட்டில் உன்னைப் போன்ற,
இரக்கமில்லதவனுக்கு இடமில்லை “என்று
கலியை விரட்ட முனைந்தான் மன்னன்,
கலியோ தன் பக்க நியாயத்தைப் பகர்ந்தான்.

“இறைவன் என்னை இப்படிப் படைத்தான்,
இதில் என் தவறு ஏதும் இல்லை. நீங்கள்
அளிக்கும் இடத்தில் ஒளிந்து கொள்கின்றேன் ,
அனுமதி தரவும் வேண்டுகின்றேன்” எனப் பணிய,

மது, மாது, கொலை, சூது, தங்கம் என்று
மன்னன் கலிக்கு அளித்தான் ஐந்து இடங்கள்.
போதாது என்று மன்றாடிய கலிக்கு அளித்தான்,
மேதாவி மன்னன் மேலும் ஐந்து இடங்கள்,

காமம், பொய், வெறி, கலகம், பகைமை;
கலிக்கு கிடைத்த வேறு ஐந்து புகலிடங்கள்.
கலியின் புகலிடங்கள் அறிந்து, அவற்றுடன்,
கலப்பதை நாம் அறவே தவிர்ப்போம்! .

When you say that you start meditating directly on the eye brow center, then you are already living in the sixth floor.

May I know how you reached the sixth floor except by climbing up from the ground level?

Did you get dropped by a helicopter directly in the sixth floor?

All great places are reached through long winding stairs. I personally do not believe in short cuts.

உலகையே வெல்ல விரும்பிய அலெக்சாண்டர்,
உலகினில் உள்ள சிறந்த பொருட்கள் ஐந்தை,
அரிஸ்டாடலுக்கு காணிக்கை ஆக்க விரும்பி,
அரிய படையை நடத்திப் பாரதம் வந்தார்.

கங்கைக் கரையில் அமர்ந்து மெளனமாக,
சிங்கம் போல தவம் செய்யும் சாதுக்கள்,
சந்நியாசிகளைப் பற்றிக் கேட்டு வியந்தவர்,
சந்நியாசி ஒருவரைக் காணவிரும்பினார்.

தளபதியிடம் அரசர் ஆணையிட்டார்,
தாமதமின்றி படையுடன் சென்று,
உலகம் துறந்த ஒரு சிறந்த ஞானியை,
கலகம் இன்றி அழைத்து வருமாறு!

“எமக்கு உம் அரசரிடம் என்ன வேலை?
எமது தொழில் தவம் செய்வது ஒன்றே!
உமது அரசன் என்னைக் காண விழைந்தால்
உம்முடன் நீர் இங்கு அழைத்து வாரும்!”

தளபதியின் சாந்த குணம் மாறியது;
தாளமுடியாத சினம் தலைக்கு ஏறியது;
உலகே அஞ்சும் பெரிய அரசன் இந்த
உலகைத் துறந்த ஆண்டியிடம் வருவதா?

ஆணை இட்டார் தம் வீரர்களிடம்,
“பிணைத்தாகிலும் இந்த ஆண்டியை
அரசனிடம் அழைத்து வாருங்கள்!
பிணங்கினால் விட்டு விடுவோமா?”

சென்றது ஒரு படை வீரர் கூட்டம்,
முயன்றது அந்த வீர சன்யாசியைக்
கயிற்றில் கட்டியாவது இழுத்து வர;
முயன்று முயன்று முடிவில் தோற்றது!

என்ன ஆச்சரியம்! என்ன அதிசயம்!
எத்தனை வீரர்கள் கூடி முயன்றாலும்,
எள்ளளவேனும் நகர்த்த முடியவில்லை,
எள்ளி நகையாடும் அந்த சன்யாசியை!

“உங்கள் அரசன் மண்ணை வென்றவன்;
நானோ என் மனத்தையே வென்றவன்.
என்னை யாராலும், எங்கும், எதுவும்,
நான் விரும்பாமல் செய்ய இயலாது!”

ஆன்மீகத்தின் அரிய சக்திகளை
அனைவரும் உணர்ந்து தெளிந்தனர்.
மண் ஆளும் அரசனும் இடவேண்டும்
மண்டி, மனத்தை வென்ற ஆண்டியிடம்.

The Olden days or todays socalled Yoga Gurus teachings will not help to get results, but a person got a Perfect Living Master and blessed with "NaaM" will lead towards inwared journey from eyecenter. I must admit, I am a bit disappointed with this reply. I thought Sri.Ramanar encouraged 'listening and observing' as the best tool to learn. Just imagine a person who does not know something just sit by himself/herself and meditate for 2 1/2 hours; possibly at the end of 2 1/2 hours, that person may not have gained any more knowledge about that subject. On the other hand, if the same person sits quitely listening to a lecture/discussion about the same subject amoung expets on that subject, then at the end of 2 1/2 hours, that person would have gained a fair bit of knowledge. I like this later method much better. That's why I asked my children to enrol in the University and attend lectures.

Greetings. With due respect to your comment, I feel, the method of learning differes based on the subject. While meditating in silence to keep the mind is quiet, such meditation may not help if one desires to learn a particular subject like science or maths. I think we are comparing apples to oranges. I was talking more about learning 'materilistic' subjects for which lectures and discussions are beneficial. I was not talking about spirituality at all. As one may observe from my messages, I don't even have any 'ஸ்நான ப்ராப்தி' with sprituality. So, kindly don't mistake me, please.

We have been always traveling outside our body.

When we start the inward journey, it is a new and unexplored path and a dark one too!

We need to know what we are looking for and also a guiding light to help us see in the darkness.

Just meditating with no infrastructure may help one to find "Soonyam" and "mounam" and in all probability a "Sound sleep"
(when stuck in a blank meditation extending up to several hours).

Actually we merge with our 'Atman' in deep and dreamless sleep, every night!

That is why we feel rejuvenated after a good sleep!

But the pity is that we won't remember anything about the 'Atman' with whom we have interacted, after we wake up in the next morning!

But when we interact with 'Atman' in deep (sleepless) meditation,
we will remember everything.

That will unfold all the secrets of creation. :flypig:

Praveen hope you are listening. I gave you exactly this very feedback. I told you that some members using tamil might isolate those brahmins who don't know tamil.

Dear Mr. Nath,

I give the slokas and meaning in Tamil so that more people will benefit from it.

Remember the name of the site itself is tamilbrahmins.com.

I can't type Sanskrit words in English due to various reasons.

The English alphabets are NOT enough to differentiate the letters.

(sa, sa' sha, ksha all look good when written individually, but in a sloka

they will become tongue twisters)

Even person who knows Sanskrit very well will not be able to read them.

Well If I give it in Sanskrit and English, many people will find it difficult to

read the moolam as well as the meanings.

There are certain things like the provers in Tamil which can't be given in

English, as already I am comparing them with those in English.

As for my poems in Tamil, translation will ruin their beauty and impact.

You have got two options. Get a Tamil friend who can red out those -in

case you can understand Tamil.

Otherwise get the translation in Telugu and study it.

When people proudly declare that they can not read or speak their

mother tongue Tamil, I want to do something with in my capacity to

improve the situation.

Not that I am against English. The majority always should be given priority.

That's why Praveen I stressed that If you evolved this site into brahminsworld.com then enforce english strictly otherwise make brahminsworld.com as separate website and leave tamilbrahmins.com untouched, so that some tamil brahmins can continue posting in tamil script.
Please understand Praveen, we can't impose our language onto others. There are kashmiri pandits who love their language and similar assamese brahmins love their language.
Please don't mind I appreciate you taking a wonderful step in creating this forum about tamil brahmins but still you say all brahmins are welcome. So when some tamils use tamil in their posts then obviously non tamils won't understand unless they know a bit of tamil. Language is most vital part of a person's culture. We might love tamil, but a bengali may love bengali and so on.
Nothing personally against tamil. I'm a proud tamil. Frankly I altogether avoid all posts in tamil except those whose length is short or where someone has replied to me. I take help from my mother.
If english is not enforced strictly till a final decision then non tamils will feel left out.
Its just as if Indian Govt continues to treat Hindi as national language but many oppose it or don't understand it altogether.
Praveen you yourself came from US, surely you must have met some tamils who don't know the language read and write.

So let every one read what he/she likes and enjoys most.

Ramanujan, most of the posts made in the site are in English. Threads with posts containing liberal amount of Tamil, to the extent unintelligible to non-Tamil members, can be counted in one hand. These threads are of interest only to people with Tamil knowledge anyway, such as Tamil poetry or Azhvar pasurams. IMO, to insist that such Tamil threads must not be allowed is a bit extreme, no?

sir u misunderstood what i said. i never said that threads should not be allowed. but if every1 started writing in tamil then this will never end. then obviously those who don't know the language will feel left out. Threads in tamil r not a problem but the message is much wider if its in english.
I sense thats why praveen flouted this idea of brahminsworld.com.
I always said this site not be disturbed and create a new one for all brahmins.
But then the member base will be freshly required. there will be void.
If this site is converted into brahminsworld then we have to pay price by avoiding posting as far as we can in tamil.
In case of separate site the members of tamilbrahmins would be required to go through that brahminsworld site logging in and logging out, password remember, other settings, it will be a bit strenuous and time consuming. but I will manage it no probs.
Its a catch 22 situation.

The English and Tamil typed in English script sends occasional shivers down my spine.

Why this sudden antagonism against Tamil?

Can we translate the sentence

"Honey moon became a Sani moon" in English, without losing its beauty?

Typed words like 'frend' , 'wud' and 'cos' slap me on my face!

It is so easy to start animosity against a person or among persons in the pretext of saving a language (English?) and degrading another(Tamil?)

'Adithya Hrudayam' series got finished today.

'Bhaja Govindam' will be getting finished in another five days' time.

As far Laliths Sahasra Naama, nearly 300 naamaas are over.

So I request you to buy the Telugu translation of these three works and make up for what you have missed in the Forum (because of the language barrier).

In future, I will try to add a brief translation in English also, wherever possible.

We don't have give an opportunity to people for projecting 'a mole hill' as 'Mount Meru'.
