Ingredients
Servings: 6-7 Dosas
1. | Wheat flour 1/2 cup |
2. | Fine rava (chiroti rava) 1/2 cup |
3. | Rice flour 1/4 cup |
4. | Salt to taste |
5. | Cooking soda 1 pinch (optional) |
6. | Curd / yogurt 1/2 cup |
7. | Oil |
How to make Wheat Dosa?
1. | Mix all the ingredients, except the curd and oil, in a bowl. |

2. | Add curd to the flour mixture. | |
3. | Add water gradually and keep mixing the curd-flour mixture to make a batter. The batter should be very thin. If possible, set aside the batter for 10-20 minutes. Otherwise, you can make the dosa immediately. | |
4. | Heat a tava. | |
5. | Coat the tava with little oil. | |
6. | Pour the dosa batter on the entire tava using a ladle. Lift the tava by holding the tava handle and rotate the tava in a circular pattern to spread the batter evenly on the entire tava. | |
7. | Sprinkle little oil. Turn the flame to medium. | |
8. | As soon as a few brown spots begin to appear on the dosa, turn the flame to low. Lift the dosa partially with a spatula and see if the rear part of the dosa is golden brown. If it is, the dosa is cooked. Otherwise, cook for few more minutes and check again. Thin, crispy wheat dosa is ready. |
