Just for information; what is the law in malaysia? Is it applicable to all?

P.S. I forgot to add..as a doc my concern is saving lives and pre marital sex is not an offence so I am not encouraging anyone to break the law.

Only muslims are bound by the Syariah Law if they are caught in the act of close proximity its called Khalwat here.
If a non muslim is caught in the act with a muslim only the muslim is charged in the Syariah court.

The law does not interfere in a doc's advise to patients.

Sex is an animal instinct, unlike animals that engage in sex for procreation most humans engage in sex for pure enjoyment. The times that we live in we should be discouraging premarital sex. I live in a country were under age pregnancies is a big issue. Girls lose out on education; the poor child is deprived of a proper upbringing. Bringing up a child as a single parent and burdening the girl’s parents, with additional support. I am not saying all, but I think most people that engage in premarital sex, will eventually have more than one partner before marriage, and leads to promiscuity. This increases the chances of STD’s, again in South Africa we have seen the scourge of HIV. It is not a good thing, we see a lot of child headed households, and abject poverty. Sex education is being taught at schools, I know see that more and more religious organisations are encouraging children to abstain, and proud to be a virgin. The big question is most premarital sex takes place with teenagers, are they prepared for it, are they able to think responsibly considering their raging hormones.

Teenage sex etc is a whole other issue. Let us just concentrate for now on mutual consent carnal activities between adults. I think we should do what we think is right for us and not judge people if they choose to be virgin or non virgin.

I quite agree with the rest of your post; except this point. Why should one have to spend money to woo members of the opposite sex? And surely you are not suggesting that only the males are supposed to spend money for wooing?

No No..what I meant is sometimes people take their girlfriends or boyfriends for dinner/movies etc but some are not even willing to fork out a single cent for anything.
Many girls and boys do share their expenses too.

There is a co doc whom I know who is faithful to his wife cos he said that he doesnt want to waste money to have an affair so one day another doc told him that he will sponsor a date with another girl and this doc agreed for it and went on the date with another woman.

I had that in mind when I wrote that line...so you see he was all the while faithful becos he didnt want to spend money but when he got a sponsor he was not so faithful anymore!!!LOL

Thats why I feel there are many reasons why a person remains a virgin or remains faithful to their spouses.

In my field of duty I have come across the weirdest of cases..Once I had a case where the individual was a quite a bad case of schizophrenia and he came to test his blood for HIV cos he has been frequenting commercial sex workers.

So I advised him to always have protection on and then he told me in a loud tone "Doc do you think I am MAD??off course I wore protection..in fact double protection!!"

I was thinking not bad..I get a schizo who practises safe sex but have normal patients who dont.

Ok want to hear one more case : when I was in the government service..one elderly male almost 80 who could hardly walk had come to see me.
He had a wheel chair bound wife too.
Then he sent his wife out and told me "doc can you prescribe Viagra for me"
I told him "No..you have a heart ailment and its not suitable for you cos there would be a drug interaction"

Then he said "doc I am not asking it for what others use it for but I need it so that I can make my urine stream straight cos right now it goes all directions"

I was thinking this old man was trying to give excuses..so I told him..

"Sir I will prescribe for you something free that you dont have to pay for and its called your hand..use it to direct your urine flow"

Nice stories from the front-lines. I think doctors are the most qualified to talk about people, their behavior and psychology. You get to have so many unique experiences; but of course some of them must be jerks.

But this is a different situation ..that was an analogy and this is a medical case I attended to.
Actually to a doc each bodily function is just anatomy,physiology and biochemistry..that's all.
