What is the difference between Printing and Minting money??? :decision:

When the government Prints money it is called as Minting!!!

When private persons Mint money it is called as Printing!!!
 
The Scamp at the Camp.

Was it his folly to set camp
On a ground so very damp?

Was there a nearby swamp?
He has to check with tramp.

A cold bed can cause cramp,

உலகினைத் துறந்தனர் இருவர்;

தவிக்கும் போது மனைவி கேட்டாள்
தலையில் ஓங்கி அடித்தாற் போல!

“சிறு கல் ஒன்றையும், வைரத்தையும்
ஒரு போல் எண்ண முடியாதவர் நீங்கள்!

சந்நியாசி ஆக விரும்புவானேன்?
சம்சாரத்தை வீணே துறப்பானேன்?”

'என்னைக் காட்டிலும், ஒரு காலத்தில்
பொன்னை விரும்பிய பெண்ணே மேல்!'

Ahimsa and Satyam

A king's gold goblet had been gobbled off by one of his sentries on duty.

It was too much to lose the gem studded goblet which the king loved most.

Truth could not be extracted from the men on duty at the time of the theft.

King did not believe in subjecting all the men on duty to extreme measures.

All but one of them were innocent without a doubt... but which one???

The Raja guru was a man of wisdom and suggested a ahimsic solution to this problem.

He handed over a stick to each of the men on duty on that day of the theft.

He told then thus, "All these sticks are identical in every respect.

I have uttered a mantra so that ONLY the stick in the hands

of the guilty person will grow by one inch."

He dismissed them after telling them to bring back their sticks the next morning.

Sure enough one of the sticks was one inch shorter.

The thief wanted to make up for the growth of the stick and cut off one inch from it.

Moral:

We do not have to use extreme measures to arrive at the TRUTH (Satyam)

Subtle methods work equally well! (Ahimsa)
 
The escape!

He stood listening with a gape,
To the story of her lucky escape,

From a demon in human shape,
When he attempted her to rape!

The one who saved her was an ape!
To whom she often offered a grape!

It held the rogue by his nape,
She could recover her cape;

She found some time to drape
Her cape and she could escape.
 
Some people think it is not corret to ask God for something we need.

The argument they put forward is this

God knows whaT we want. So if He really loves and cares for us

He must give them to us - even without our asking for them!

My arguement is this.

God is our parent and we are his children.

A parent may know all the requirements of his offspring

and yet may give it to him/her only he/she asks for it.

குருகுலம் ஒன்றை நடத்திய
குருவுக்கு தேவை செல்வம்;
சென்றார் அரசனிடம் அவர்
செல்வம் பெற எண்ணியபடி.

அரசன் பூஜையில் அமர்ந்து,
பரம பக்தியுடன் இறைவனை
அர்ச்சனை செய்ததும், பின்னர்
அவனை இறைஞ்சியதும் கேட்டது.

குரு வெளியே போகலானார்,
சிரித்தபடியே தனக்குள்ளேயே.
குருவைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தினான்,
அரசன் மிகவும் திகைப்படைந்து!

“வந்த விஷயத்தை நீங்கள்
எந்த முறையிலும் சொல்லாமல்
சென்றால் எப்படி?” என்று மேலும்
மன்றாடிக் கேட்டுக் கொள்ளவே,

குறு நகை புரிந்தார் அந்த குரு;
புரியாத அரசன் திகைத்தான்!
நடந்ததை அவர் கூறியபோது,
மடமையை அவன் உணர்ந்தான்!

“குருகுலம் நடத்த உன்னிடம்
பொருள் பெறவேண்டி வந்தேன்;
பொருள் பெற வேண்டி, நீயே
இறைவனிடம் யாசித்தாய்!

ஒரு யாசகனை நாடி வந்து,
ஒரு யாசகன் என்ன கேட்பது?
உன்னிடம் கேட்பதை விடவும்
உலகை ஆள்பவனிடம் கேட்பேன்!”

இவர்களுள் யார் நிஜ யாசகன்?
அரசனா? அல்லது அந்த குருவா?
இறைவன் முன்பு இங்கு வாழும்
அனைவருமே நிஜ யாசகர்களே!

வாடகைக்கு வண்டி ஓட்டும் ஓர் ஆட்டோக்காரன்!
வாடகை உதவுகிறது வண்டியை ஓட்ட ஒருவருக்கு!

தருவான் வளர்ந்த பின் நிழல் என்ற எண்ணிய மகன்
கூறாமல் சந்நியாசம் வாங்கி கொண்டு போய் விட்டான்.

அவனுக்காகக் கட்டி வைத்த மாடிப் பகுதியின் மாத வாடகை
அவன் தர வேண்டிய மாதாந்திர உதவிப் பணம் ஆகிவிட்டது!

ஆட்டோக்காரனும் மகன் ஆகலாம் - ஏளனம் செய்யாதீர்கள்!
வீட்டு வாடகையும் உதவிப் பணம் ஆகலாம் - உதாசீனம் என்?

29. ஆத்ம தரிசனம்.






மரம் வெட்டி விற்று, அந்த
வருமானத்தில் வாழ்ந்தான்
சிரமம் நிறைந்த வாழ்க்கை,
சிறு விறகு வெட்டி ஒருவன்.

மகான் கூறினார் அவனிடம்,
“மகனே! நீ காட்டுக்குள் செல்;
செல்வம் கொழித்து, நல்லதோர்
செல்வந்தனாய் ஆகிவிடுவாய்!”

அடுத்த நாள், அந்த விறகுவெட்டி
அடர்ந்த காட்டுக்குள் சென்றபோது,
விலையுயர்ந்த மரக் கூட்டங்களைத்
தொலை தூரம்வரையில் கண்டான்.

தினமும் சிறிது வெட்டி விற்று,
மனம் மகிழ்ந்து வாழலானான்.
“இன்னும் உள்ளே சென்றால்,
என்னென்ன உள்ளதோ?” என்று

கண்டறியச் சென்றான், ஒரு முறை
பண்டு செல்லாத பகுதிகளுக்கு!
தாமிரச் சுரங்கத்தைக் கண்டான்;
கோரிய பொருளைப் பெற்றான்.

இன்னமும் உள்ளே சென்றால்,
இருந்தது வெள்ளிச் சுரங்கம்!
அள்ளிக் கொண்டு வந்தவனுக்கு,
கொள்ளை கொள்ளை மகிழ்ச்சி!

இன்னும் உள்ளே சென்றவன்,
பொன்னும், வைரக்கற்களும் கூடி
மின்னும் சுரங்கத்தைக் கண்டான்.
இன்னும் வேறு என்ன வேண்டும்?

சித்திகள் எட்டும் இவ்வகையே.
யத்தனம் நாம் செய்யச் செய்ய,
புத்தம் புதிதாகக் கிடைக்கும்;
மொத்தமாக அல்ல, என்றுமே!

சக்திகளில் மயங்கி நிற்காமல்,
யுக்தியுடன் தொடர்ந்து சென்றால்,
கிடைக்கும் ஆத்ம தரிசனமும்;
கிடைக்கும் இறையின் தரிசனமும்!

Once a person was bragging to me how much power he has and he can astral travel to any country becos of his Siddhic powers.

So when he had come knocking at my door at work to see me..I didnt open it.
I told him walk through it!LOL

After that he quit talking about his power.

Dear Renu,

Probably they can travel freely in air but not walk through solid walls and doors! :)

I have read about a yogi who could produce light from his arm pit.

A torch can do this 'miracle' as well as he can - if not better!

Should he waste the power of penance to compete with a torch light??? :der:

Think of how inconvenient the light will be to the others sleeping in the same room! :tsk:
 
A halo can be hidden by a cap/turban/ hat during the day

and by a scarf/kullai/muNdaasu at night. :hat:

But the light from the kashkam will illuminate the room every time

the arm is lifted and the light gets switched ON!:cool:

P.S

Most gents roam around/sleep topless or wearing a sleeveless vest! :)
 
An Ace Pilot.

Among the pilots he was an ace,
Still she felt it was wise to brace;

This indeed was a tough race,
Flying so low in open space;

He will retain his first place,
By his favourite God’s grace,

Now is the time for loops and lace,
Looking easy enough on the face!

The fine movements he has to glace
Or will surely get hit as if by a mace!
