A SIMPLE STORY TO PROVE THAT NO ONE HOWEVER OLD HE/SHE MIGHT BE, IS STILL USEFUL TO THE SOCIETY!

30. சாம்பற் கயிறு.

அரசன் ஒருவன் அறிவித்தான்,
அனைவரையும் வியப்பிலாழ்த்தும்
அதிசயமான புதிய அறிவிப்பு;
அதுவரை யாருமே கேளாதது!

“அறுபது வயது முதியோர்களால்,
ஒரு பயனும் இல்லை, உலகுக்கு!
அவர்கள் பூமி தேவிக்கு வீண் பாரம்,
அவர்கள் உண்ணும் உணவும் வீணே!

நாட்டில் எல்லோருமே இளமையாக,
நல்ல அழகுடன் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
அறுபது வயது தாண்டிய முதியோரை,
அரிய தண்டனையாய் நாடு கடத்துவேன்!”

அரசன் ஆணையை மீற முடியுமா?
அதற்காக முதியோரை விட முடியுமா?
மதி மிகு அமைச்சர், அச்சம் என்பதின்றி
‘மாதக் கெடு’ மன்னனிடம் கேட்டார்.

ஒரு புதிய அறிவிப்பு வெளியானது.
‘ஒரு கயிற்றைச் சாம்பலால் செய்து
தருபவர்க்கு உண்டு பொற்காசுகளின்
அருமையான பரிசுக் கிழி ஒன்று’ என்று

மாதக் கெடு முடியுமுன் வந்தான்,
மன்னன் கேட்டபடியே ஓர் இளைஞன்;
சாம்பற் கயிற்றினை அழகியதொரு
தாம்பாளத்தில் வைத்து எடுத்தபடி!

ஆயிரம் பொற்காசுகளை அளித்தபின்,
தூய அமைச்சர் கேட்டார் அவனிடம்,
“யார் சொல்லித் தந்தார் இதனை?
கூறு உண்மையினை அச்சமின்றி!”

“எழுபது வயது நிரம்பிவிட்ட என்
ஏழைத் தநதையின் எண்ணமே இது;
‘சாம்பலால்கயிறு செய்ய முடியாது;
கயிற்றைச் சாம்பலாக்கி விடு’ என்றார்!

தாம்பாளத்தில் கயிற்றைப் பொசுக்கி,
தங்களிடம் எடுத்து வந்தேன் நான்!”
“நாடு கடத்தப்படவேண்டுமா அரசே?
நல்லறிவு உடைய முதியவர்கள்?

எந்த இளைஞனுக்கும், பெண்ணுக்கும்,
இந்தக் கூர்மையான அறிவு இல்லையே!
அறிவு இருப்பவர்களையும் தாங்கள்
பூமிக்கு பாரம் எனக் கருதலாமா?”

அரசன் இது கேட்டு நாணமுற்றான்!
அரசு ஆணையை ரத்து செய்தான்.
அனைவரும் முன்போலவே மிகவும்
ஆனந்தமாக வாழத் துவங்கினர்.

Our brahmin children specially married girls know that senior citizen parents are a great resource.

From help at child birth to being baby sitters the parents do a brilliant job relieving youngsters of the burden of bringing up children.

We do not require reports from studies abroad confirming the known facts.
 
One of my well wishers told me that as long as an elderly person is an ASSET, he / she will be welcomed by the children.

When he / she becomes a liability ........... You know what!! :sad:

Most senior citizens live with fear of abuse by children.

Well wishers only add to the fears by warning of consequences of becoming a liability.

There is no alternative to having a strong sense of self worth to combat fears.

World is a big place.

Many times strangers are better resources than children.

One needs to reach out to all manner of people and make relationships doing something or the other for them in our spare time.

I am sure some will remember later what we do for them and reciprocate.
 
We have a cute and good natured wife of one our cousins.
She reaches out to help everyone in the big complex where
she lives with her husband and parents in law.
Anybody who wants to get anything archived
they just have to give her a call on the phone! :thumb:
 
My elder son has been offering to get us Green Card since nearly 5 years.

I am glad we got it in the right time before the VISA rules and the other

Immigration rules changed and the annual quota got reduced to 50%.

My paternal uncle announced this to his wife in this weird manner.

"Visalam's son wants someone to work in the kitchen

and so he is arranging for her Green Card!

As for him and wife, they bluntly refused to help

their D.I.L when their grand daughter was an infant.

Even now they live separately away from the family of their only son!

Two such women will be too much to coexist under a roof! :argue:

The chain of events with time lapse!!!

First The Likes and the number of likes vanished!!!

Then the total number of images posted vanished!!!

I think the images have vanished as well - especially

those which are NOT images of Gods!

Now the scores have vanished!!!

Someone very influential with you-know-who

is behind all these systematic changes!

The day is NOT far off when out avatar as well our user name will vanish.

That will be the ultimate equality of the society.

No one will now what was posted by who.

It is O.K for the copy paste Kings and Queens.

Those who rake their brain to produce something worthwhile will be the ones affected! :pout:

Why can't such brilliant minds spend their free time in creating their own work and improving their score

instead of destroying the empire built by the others - single handedly, step by step and brick by brick! :doh:

Since in most cases it is the mutual patting on the shoulder

by the members of the M.A.S (Mutual Admirer's Society)!

If the number of POSTS and the number of VIEWS also vanish

it will become the real "samarasam ulaavum idam!" :(

How long do we have before this will happen??? :decision:
 
My father used to talk about Socialism when I was a small child.

The concept is to handicap the talented and meritorious ones.

He would say,

"If a person runs fast and has long legs, his legs will be made shorter.

If a person is light weight and agile, a dead load will be attached to him.

If a person is very tall his legs will be chopped off - if not his head!"

May Socialism flourish!!! May Inhumanity perish!!!

May the little voice inside a person - if it is not put out completely already -

haunt and taunt the evil thinker/speaker/doer the way that PERSON deserves!

Domestic violence.

It became a regular incidence,
In the neighbour’s residence;

மற்றவர்களிடமிருந்து முற்றிலும் ஒருவர்
மாறுபட்டாலோ அன்றி வேறுபட்டாலோ,
விளையும் அனர்த்தம் விரும்பாவிடினும்;
விதியாலும் அதை மாற்றிவிட முடியாது!
தன்னிலும் வேறுபட்டவரைக் கண்டால்,
தாங்கவே முடியாது சக மனிதர்களால்.
மாறுபட்டவர்கள் படும் பாட்டையோ
மாளாது நாவினால் சொல்லிச் சொல்லி!

பட்டப் பெயர்கள் பலப்பல சூட்டப்படும்;
திட்டும், உதையும் தாராளமாகக் கிட்டும்;
கல்லால் அடித்துக் கூடச் சிலர் விரட்டுவர்;
சொல்லால் அடித்தும் நிம்மதியைக் கெடுப்பர்.

புதுக் கருத்துக்களைக் கண்டு, விண்டவர்கள்
பொதுவாக எங்கும் வரவேற்கப்படுவதில்லை!
கருத்துக்கள் முற்றிலும் புறக்கணிக்கப்படும்;
கருத்தினை உரைத்தவர்களும் அதன் கூடவே!
