Think or sink!

I try to give sarees to relatives discreetly a few days before marriage so that they can wear them after stitching blouses for the wedding .

I also do not accept any presents for marrying people in the wedding/reception hall .

flowers/bouquet are fine

This leads to happiness in those attending the wedding/reception as a major issues of social/economic dis parities are kept out of family functions.

we are meeting i family functions for a few hours of enjoyment and happiness . why spoil it.?

.

Dear Mr. krish,
When you give away the saris discretely and sectertly,
if they give you gifts in the same manner
WILL YOU OR WON"T YOU accept them??? :noidea:
Giving away the saris before the wedding has two advantages.
All the people will attend the function in their new clothes.
We don't have to carry all the saris to the mandapam and
chase the people to hand over their gift packets to them!!!
LESS LUGGAGE MORE COMFORT!!! :)

North Indian jewels for the ears are elaborate and heavy!

One of my neighbors had her ear lobes torn off completely. :scared:

She got them stiched and changed over to lighter ear rings!

There is a rich girl with doting parents.
While the parents were getting sets of jewels made
with gem stones of every conceivable color for her,
she kept buying more and more one gram jewels.
One day she disappeared with her lover/husband
with all the one gram jewels packed neatly.
She had everything planned well in her head.
Good thing she did not disappear
with the genuine gold jewels!!!

Gold # 15.

A King or an eternal prisoner?

Gold is named as the 'King of Metals"'and the 'Metal of the Kings. Is it really a King or a life-long-prisoner? Gold lies buried under ground. It is mined out and cast in to bars and again locked up in inaccessible places, armor plated safes, underground dungeons, protected by several barbed wire fencing carrying 5000volts as in Fort Knox.

Not even the most wicked criminal in the world is given this kind of security and guarded so vigilantly by the electronic eyes-which do not even have to blink!

A small amount of gold is used by dentists. Industries have started using more and more gold. Electronics consumes gold for the transistors and diodes. Gold platinum alloy is used in the construction of equipments for synthetic fiber plants.

Nuclear Physics uses Gold Seals effectively to seal off all the loopholes through which air can enter into the accelerator cavities, in the vital units of accelerators for charged particles. A high vacuum of the order of thousand-millionth of an atmospheric pressure (1/1000,000,000 of atmospheric pressure) can be achieved.

Gold can contribute to the exploration of outer space. Gold can ensure efficient thermal regulation used as the satellites sheathing. It is transparent to ions. So the danger of ion accumulation resulting in various emergencies may be avoided.

I wonder why many mAmis wear crystals and beads locking up all the lovely gold jewels in their bank!

Weddings are the occasions to wear those lovely jewels, right? :)

Dear RR ji,

Gold jewelry look so old fashion and carbon dated. The color of gold is boring.

At least white gold has some fashionista look.

Yellow gold sucks!LOL

Crystals on the other hand look very trendy and stylish.

Dear Renu,

You are a rare lady due to several reasons

1. Your frankness and fearlessness

2. Your brilliance and quick wit (Pratibha Renu!)

3. Your shunning gold and diamonds

4. your shunning silks.

5. You are a bipolar (like yours sincerely)

Can I ever think of another lady like yourself??? :noidea:

Dear VR ji,

So far the only person who is like me is my own reflection in the mirror!

But recently a friend of mine told me that he met a doctor in India who looked exactly like me and even spoke and smiled and had the same voice like me.

It is such a co incidence that my look alike is also in the same profession.

He said that person was a mirror image of me..so who knows someone else like me is out there.

Don't you want to meet her Renu???

Don't you want to meet her Renu???

My friend did not get her details..he was actually supposed to see another doctor and so happened this doctor was just the replacement and he only knows her 1st name.

I dont mind meeting a look alike.

When I was in University there was another of my look alike ..she was from Bihar but not a medical student...some other faculty.

One Bihari guy used to be crazy for her and when she refused his advances he become very sad and then one day he saw me and he said "OMG you look just like the girl I liked and she refused me"

Then I thought I better make sure this guy does not trail me becos that was what he was trying to do..he wanted to get either me or her!LOL

Finally he got no one.

Becos that shows that he was attracted only to the looks of a person becos he did not mind anyone!

Dear VR ji,

I had a weird dream last night.

In my dream I was in some part of Tamil Nadu and there was some religious function going on where a statue of Goddess Lakshmi was taken out in a chariot and many people were standing to get a darshan.

Then the chariot stops and the priests tells everyone to take a good look and make a wish and it will be answered.

Then there was this one old lady she looked very poor..she was standing next to me and she was singing and crying in Tamil that how much her family is suffering without any money and blessings of health.

Then the priest kept telling everyone.."make your wishes fast..the chariot is going to go"

Then I made a wish that may Goddess Lakshmi smile upon the life of the poor old lady and bless her with wealth and health.

I wonder why I had that dream??

Dear Renu,
Your post is interesting becos there are so many becos(s).
Just like little children using a new word very often
in order to remember it better!
Yes! That guy was after your/ her jaw-dropping-looks!
It was irrespective of the interior inside that exterior.
I hope he did not go on a wild goose chase looking for
the five other possible look-alikes!!!

Dear Renu,
It must be to emphasize that Time and Tide wait for no one.
In stead of lamenting and crying in front of the goddess
the old lady must have asked for what wanted to have!
Gods are busy and have to answer the prayers of everyone! :)

Dear VR ji,

Actually in my dream I had no intention of asking anything becos since a child I somehow did not feel comfortable with the concept of Lakshmi.

The drawings of her depicting wealth and gold somehow put me off.

But the sight of the crying old lady in the dream moved my heart to pray for her to be blessed.

When I was a child I somehow liked Saraswati becos she looked more sensible.

But as I grew up I started liking Lord Shiva becos I felt He looked the most handsome of all Gods!

dear Vaagmi ji,

I never use masala when I cook.

At home there is no onion or garlic too.(If I eat out I dont really watch for onion or garlic)

Its not that I am Sattvic that I do not use garlic and onion at home..its becos I hate cutting it!LOL

I only use ginger when I cook becos its easier to cut and the only seasoning used is salt and some turmeric and some cinnamon...that too just sprinkles.

But even then I can dream of even Pisasus!LOL

dear Renu,
Brahma is often depicted as an old man with flowing white beard.

(Did Saraswati Devi ever wonder
"Mein kyaa karoon Raam mujhe buddha mil gayaa?) :noidea:

VishNu is far too faminine.
(He is the husband of Lakshmi Devi and wife of Siva-
double role in real life belonging to both the genders)

Lord Siva is the strong, powerful, masculine Yogic God
He is the the Mukti DAayakA as well as GnAna DAyakA!!

My father always used to say
"DurgA, Lakshmi, Saraswati!"
and very very rarely
"Brahma, Vishnu, Siva!"
Either he knew the feminie power
or may be our househld had
4:1 :: daughters: son (ratio)!

Visalakshi ji,

Just kidding, but wondering if this is the purpose of this thread -- to 'butter up' a favorite! :wof:

Visalakshi ji, those who do such buttering up service to others might secretly hold a wish to receive the same from them/others. This is plain psychology abc any child can also guess! My heart goes out for your 'yearning heart'!!(So please don't post your argument trying to prove everything I say is wrong, as you would normally do).

Cheers!
