Think or sink!

1. jaadikku Eththa moodi, bodykku Eththa lady.

The old man looked like the hero of the movie UP.

He was dressed in a perfectly fitting suit, hat and boots -

a glaring contrast to the others who were dressed in the most casual clothes.

His wife was a chirpy lovely old lady - all smiles and

for sure one who celebrated life and being alive.

What endeared them to me???
They have been married for 55 long years!!! :clap2:

At a time when we may have to celebrated the

25th, 50th, 75th Day of being married!!!

I wished them many more happy years of togetherness!!!

2. The young short girl (a real Naaladiyaar with an apology to the owner

of that name!)was walking away holding a baby seat in one hand and her

curly haired toddler girl in the other.

My father refers to children as "luggage with legs"

Luggage since we have to carry them just as luggage

and with legs since unlike the regular luggage

which stay put on the ground when put them down,

these kids try to move away as fast as

their tiny legs can manage to carry them -

in the opposite direction to where we want to go -

whenever left free on the floor.

Two air hostesses came running with a similar basket seat.

A similar looking luggage with legs was seated in it

wide awake and enjoying the fast stride

in which she was being transported by the tense ladies.

The mother blurted with a sheepish smile,

" I was planning to come back for her! "

I BET she wasn't!!!

Which husband/parents/ siblings will allow a lonely lady to travel with

four luggage (two with legs and two without legs)

in addition to her checked in luggage. :bump2:

OR was she traveling alone against their wishes

like Sati Devi did??? :noidea:

3. That boy was returning after visiting his sister.

I am not sure whether he can be classified as a

Rip van Winkle or as Kumbakarna. :decision:

I have seen people becoming hypoglycemic

even after eating the two palm-sized-tray of food

served during the 9+ hours journey.

I tried to wake him up for the two meals but

he refused even to open his eyes.

He must have flung himself on food after reaching home

and tried to fill up the cupboard hiding in his skeleton! :hungry:

5. She felt as if she were walking the red carpet but

she had to walk sideways to get through the narrow space!

[Don't people become all-rounders as they add mass to their infra structure?

I never realized that the cross section was elliptical and not circular. ]

Latest discovery.

Jet lag does not affect certain people namely those

1. who remain saturated with sleep all their lives

2. who can sleep morning, afternoon, and night any day anywhere.

[After all the time must fall in one of these three slots anyway!!! Right???]

Tarun has learned to appreciate light.
He started with the electric lights and
went on to the other light sources slowly.
The moment he enters room he looks out for
the various light sources and feels happy.
Light = Illumination = Knowledge!! :thumb:

When I moved a fancy loop shaped straw in the beam of sunlight,

he was more fascinated by the moving shadow of the straw on the floor.

He tried to grab it but in vain since now the shadow fell

on his hand and was not inside his hand.

Soon he realized that the moving straw was causing the moving shadow.

Therafter he comes to grab the straw in stead of the shadow!

I am duly impressed since this little child knew
the difference between the real and the virtual,
the cause and the effect, the satyam and mithya! :clap2:
He will surely know the right from the wrong when he grows up.

On the day I left for India, Tarun was playing quietly in the office room.

I was amazed to see him employ an old, used C.D to reflect the sunlight

to various corners of the room - just as I had done.

He studied the vertical rainbow pattern formed by the disc on a wall.

He studied the shadow of the translucent center portion on the floor.

He will never look for or cry for any specific toy - since he has learned

how to engage himself usefully with the simple everyday thing we use. :thumb:

The lovely vertical rainbows.

I have not seen Tarun since 23rd July.

I was afraid that the little chap might have forgotten me.

As my sons say these tiny tots live in the present -

worrying neither about the future no recollecting the past.

Yesterday I had the phone placed on his ears and asked,

" Hello Zu ZU! How are you today?"

Immediately he responded with his swift "Ait!"

So not only he recognized my voice but also

remembered me as the Light Paatti! :)

One of the few things I will cherish is holding Tarun
(the exact replica of younger son at the corresponding age)
close to my heart and swirl in the high backed executive chair.
He too enjoyed being held thus by a paatti softer than sponge!!!
I will also hum the "Oh my darling Clementine tune"
softly replacing the words by "zu zu zu zu"
That is how he became Zuzu kutty and I became his ait paatti! :)

May the person who wakes up another from deep slumber :boink:

plunge into the deepest hell and suffer from

insomnia in all the future births.

On second thoughts "Is the reason for this behavior that

the curse has already taken effect from the person's past karmas??? :noidea:

Choice-less existence!
We were offered only one pot meal (some form of mixed rice.)
They call it as some bath (vaangi bath, vegetable pulav, bisibela bath)
When the choice is ruled out and the salt and mirchi and loaded
our lives become choice-less existence.
Believe me choiceless existence is painful! :(
Especially when no curds/ butter milks is
made available to buffer the mirch - masala.

I heard the most amusing comment in my life today.

The head pundit/priest/ vaadhyaar himself had come

to perform the Ayush Homam of Tarun Kanna.

After everything was over I handed him one of my website i.d cards and

requested him to have look or take peek when he found some free time.

He said with a straight face and frankness which put me to shame,

"You do not look like one who writes Devi Bhaagavatam in the Internet!"

He did not know these things.

1. Appearance deceive.

2. Asthivaaram nandraaga irunthal aaravaaram thevi illai.

3. Aarvaaram nilaikkaathu nedunaal asthivaaram illaavittaal.

4. vishayam irunthaal vilambaram thevai illai.

5. vilambaram nirkkathu vishayam illaavittaal.

I told him with a smile that people all over the world know me -

except those who were living near me!

I could have suggested a Google search but it might look boastful-

contrary to his opinion and comment about my simplicity and humility!

Any woman worth taking notice must be loaded with
strings of jasmine flowers in her hair,
heavy silk sari with brilliant brocade work,
tons of gold with dozens of bangles and fistful of chains.
No thanks...not for me - most certainly.
I want to be known and remembered for
what lies inside my dense dome and
not for what adorns my exterior.

Human Body is both a mystery and chemistry.
Upset routine/ food habits / medications
launch a chemical warfare inside the body!
The solution lies in pushing the toxins out of
our system from either end of the food canal.
I am happy my body settled for the top opening!
