A serving Mumbai Police constable and his wife have been booked for allegedly cheating two people in Khar of Rs. 4 lakh after promising help to buy homes in a slum. A complaint was registered at Khar police station by residents of a slum at Khar Danda after the couple allegedly refused to return the money, the police said. The accused, Narendra Buga is posted at Malvani police station and lives at Khar Danda with his wife Seema Buga.

How sad when we feel that Water water everywhere but no water to drink! :(

Do you know that we can harvest fresh water from sea water with just a mug or a pail!

Fresh Water at Sea





Water, water,every where,

Had he known where to look for it, he could have dipped his cup in to the sea and raised to his lip a drink of delicious fresh water. Drinking water in the sea is a miracle, but it is a possible miracle!

This miracle happens this way. The rain water falls on land and seeps to the sea bed through porous rocks called “aquifers”, to supply the springs at the sea bed or ocean floor.

Aquifers are porous chalk or lime stone sandwiched between two layers of water-proof rocks that extend beneath the sea.

Fresh rain water, filtering down the aquifer to the sea bed is under sufficient pressure, to force its way through any cracks ( in the sea bed or ocean floor).

It gushes out into the sea as a spring of fresh water.

It has a higher temperature and lower density than the surrounding saline water. So it floats up to the surface, without mixing with the sea water. This forms packets of fresh water on the surface of the sea.

The existence of such fresh water springs has been known for hundreds of years. The earliest reference to such a spring was made by a 15th century Arabian navigator. Similar springs exist off the South east coast of The U.S.A and off the coasts of Britain and Ireland.

நாற்றம், நறுமணம்


அடிக்கும் அலைகடலில் படகேறி,
பிடித்து வந்த மீன்களை எல்லாம்,
எடுத்துச் சென்று அலைந்து திரிந்து,
கொடுப்பார் செம்படவப் பெண்டிர்.

இருண்டு, கறுத்து, உறுமும் வானமும்,
திரண்டு பொழியும் மேகமும் கண்டு,
இருக்க நல்ல இடம் தேடி ஓடியவர்க்கு,

பழகிய நாற்றமும் நறுமணமே ஆகும்;
பழகாத நறுமணமும் நாற்றமே ஆகும்!

  • Ravi Shastri, Sourav Ganguly should have minded their language

    New Delhi: Ravi Shastri feels that Sourav Ganguly has shown disrespect to the process of selecting the national chief cricket coach by staying out of the interview board when he made his presentation while the latter has hit back questioning why he was not present in person. Understandably, Shastri is disappointed at not getting the job after, in his own words, making a decent job of it as India’s team director in the “difficult last 18 months”. The board’s advisory committee of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and V.V.S. Laxman, with former board secretary and Madhya Pradesh captain Sanjay Jagdale as convenor, felt that former captain Anil Kumble was better suited for the job than Shastri and others who had applied.
