The chase for money and Power

I see today peoples mind being reduced to single track thinking. It is the road to money and power. How sad! People even the supposed wiser ones seem to have lost track of reality. To their defence one must say that unprecedented and ubiquitous forces have made them fall in line with the majority.

Power and money actually trap you into a world of illusion. It offers illusory sense of control. There is always a feeling of something missing whatever heights you may reach. Life becomes full only with both give and take in all senses. The chase for money and power only makes you to focus on take.

Life should be a lot more balanced. Only then can it make mind happy. When mind is not happy we are under the grip of illusion.

Depression, suicide, violence, crimes etc are all consequences of an unfulfilled mind. We see a lot of them now and they are increasing at an alarming rate. The increasing obsession with money and power and consequently self is gradually obliterating the much needed unit of family. A family inculcates a number of desirable qualities and sustains them. So it is unfortunate it is breaking down. There is no worthy goal now and the life moves on in a mechanical way. We really need to start reactivating our inner selves to cure the ails of people and society.

Its not always about money and power.
It is just wanting to chasing anything..some chase
1) money
2) power
3)the opposite gender
4) the same gender or both
5)spirituality
6)attention

Money is just one of the factors.
When there is nothing to chase we chase our thoughts.

Renuka,

Money and power ensure the rest except spirituality. The chase for spirituality is at worst harmless but always elevating in the long run.

After a point money and power offers only diminishing returns. In addition negativity begins to increase. They are not worth the focus and efforts after a certain point. But people fail to realize this.

The spiritual industry has a full potential to make more money than Elon Musk.
