18/09/2015

NEW DELHI—It may be known as the 'rape capital,' but then sometimes Delhi can win your heart too.

Recently, a couple of school boys turned into heroes and helped land a mobile-snatcher behind bars.
A few weeks ago, at around 10 pm, the boys were practicing for a match in Malviya Nagar, when they heard a woman scream for help. They left their match midway and saw a man running away after trying to rob an Uzbek national.

They ran after him and after a long chase, they finally caught the man.

The entire episode was caught in the CCTV cameras that was installed in the area. The footage has gone viral now.

Arun Singh Rajput, one of the boys, told Times Of India that it was an adrenaline rush. "The man was like a 'goal' that had to be scored," he said.

The Uzbek woman who had reportedly come to India three months ago on a business trip and was staying with a friend in Malviya Nagar.

On the day of the incident, she was seen walking inside the gated colony when the man, later identified as Suraj, started following her.

The man came from behind and then tried to snatch her phone. The CCTV footage shows when the woman resisted, he attacked her.

On hearing the women scream, the group of boys jumped the park walls and started chasing the man.
Among the boys were Sarthak Sharma, a class XII student of LBS School R K Puram, Arun Singh Rajput, a class XII student of St Paul's School, Japneet, a second-year-student of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College and Aayush Joshi, a class XII student, reports ToI.

Delhi is a city of contradictions.

One day it would seem it is a city of evil alone , when one would hear of a horrific rape or murder

Then another, an incident would get reported which would warm any ones heart.

I came to know of this incident only thru PJ sirs post.

Still the city remains alive and kicking.

even the dengue epidemic does not stop people from going about their normal life.

only the senior citizen worry about overflowing water tanks and water dripping from ACs outside homes.

Today I saw at a traffic light in National highway I saw one senior citizen in between two relations on a two wheelor , looking sick .

The relative in front ,was the driver , one behind holding medical card of LB shastri govt hospital nearby.

He was obviously returning from a private lab getting his blood tested instead of the hospital.

It is the poor, specially kids getting very hurt due to dengue.

Most senior citizen might die more due to fear than dengue.

It seems that only at times, such happenings winning one’s heart do take place at Delhi. The public of Delhi have equal responsibility in preventing crime and through such brave acts they can prove friends of police.

Delhi is reportedly already in the grip of water and power crisis and currently suffering with an outbreak of dengue

There are hospitals refusing to admit suspected dengue patients and there are dispute with the number of patients hospitalised and number of lives lost due to dengue

AAP is running the Delhi Government while the Municipal Corporation is run by the BJP

Caught in the cross fire are the open hearted and hard working citizen of Delhi

There is cold war between the Governor and the Chief Minister as to who is powerful

There are debates on topic as to what caused the outbreak, is it apathy or aedes mosquito bite….

Modi's economic reforms are being stalled in the parliament by the Opposition Parties

And this is the current state of affair of our capital city…..

The outbreak of dengue is a yearly issue .

Only this time it is reaching epidemic proportions.

Multiplicity of political parties in power in MCD, Delhi govt and centre is complicating the response .

AAP has got eggs on its face for the way it is handling the issue.

Will it go the bjp way ?

Now from initial callousness and late response , it is too much publicity and hype about the disease leading to all going on overdrive and look for admission to hospitals

whether required or not. Private labs are making a killing on blood tests.

Rain is unpredictable . It again rained yesterday .If rains end, it might bring relief as far as dengue is concerned.

It is a matter of managing three weeks .by oct 15 ,this dengue politics will end. Only a few more from vulnerable sections will die.
