South-west facing house

Surprised to see main door is south west cos usually the main 4 directions only will be available for door. Only corners of the house will be the other cross 4 directions like SW, NE, SE, NW.

Earlier vasthu is seen only for temples. But in 90s after globalisation when china vasthu occupied, slowly people adapt to vasthu. Also people prefer north or east facing but again it cannot be generalised and it will be suitable for some places. Say like in Chennai if it is applicable north and east facing it may not be applicable to Coimbatore and etc.,. But people are selecting with general concept of east or north facing.
 
Thanks for the reply. It is mostly because the street is lining the houses to face southwest, and that forces the door to be facing the street, and hence it is also facing south west.
 
Then it is very nice to keep in the wall opposite the door with either puja room or keep god's photos as that will be north east which if ideal direction to keep
 
My house's front door is towards South by South West. We have lived in this house for 32 years. Raised a happy family and financially successful. I do not believe in superstitions.
But I live in the USA.

generally east and north are good ,,,,,,west is okay,,,,south is avoidable.....but some ppl south is good

according to individual rasi.....in many constructed houses will not able to full fill the directions...

only we build our own house according to our choice may be possible....in our location

in USA...if we want buy house east /north face....sometimes we have to extra premiums...

These questions arise only when you do not have 100% faith in God. Have full faith and avoid paying or paying heed to people who want to rob you.
God will take CARE.
 
I do not believe in Vasthu. But one solid principle which was taught to me by a Vasthu specialist helped me- afternoon sun should not fall on the bedroom. Hence avoid the houses where the bed room wall faces west. This is simple to understand since the overheated bedroom will not be cool enough till very late in the night! (especially in a hot place like Chennai or Mumbai, where I have my flats). Incidentally, both my flats face south!
 
South west facing houses in northern hemisphere are good for sun light, fresh air rotation.
Concept of following vastu is money making and using human weakness in lack of self confidence.

Are you a vasthu consultant? Isn’t India in Northern hemisphere? What vasthu rules applies in India is applicable to USA. Please don’t misguide people. One of the worst houses is the SW facing one. I would run away from that house without looking back. However, if one is planning on building emergency hospital in that lot, it will give good business.

This is one of the important events in life. I would advice the questioner to consult a good vasthu consultant than asking forum members.

I have a southwest-facing house and a great life. What is your problem with that?

Vastu is no science. It is just nonsense. Go to any old village in Tamilnadu. There will be a Vishnu temple facing east and a small Agraharam with houses facing north and south in a row on both sides of the street. On the east end there will be a Siva temple in which the Shivling will be facing east and Amman will be facing south. This is the architecture of many agraharams. I have my ancestral home in one such Agraharam and the house is facing south like many other houses. Our family had lived in that house for more than eight generations and life had been pleasant and prosperous only.
After we migrated to city we have been living in a south facing house for the last several years and have no complaints.
This vastu occupied a place in the minds of people only in the last 50 years and it was imported from Andhra.
So, my advice is just ignore vastu and make best use of your plot of land and live a comfortable life.

i agreed....many agraharam houses in south face.....this vasthu has nice business for many ppl....just i wonder

many generations lived there under one roof..this vasthu is good for city ppl...east is sunrise...so

we get positive energy.....south fear is YAMA...
 
My house is facing North.
I wanted a house facing North so that it does get hot when the sun rises or sets.
House is cooler.
