Vaalambiga Samaedha Hrudhupurishwaraya temple (Sri Neiyadi Appar Temple) is a historic temple in Thillaisthanam which APPAR,SUNDARAR,ARUNAGIRI NADHAR had sung on Lord Siva. It is one of the ancient temple in Tanjore district. This temple is facing East and God Sri Kirudapureeswarar is facing East, the Goddess Sri Baalaambiga is facing South
Festivals in this temple: Sabdasthanam in the month of Chittirai (during April-May) and Brahmotsavam in the month of Maasi (during January – February)
A Brief about famous festival Sabdasthanam:
SABDA means seven and STHANAM means place (temple).
SABDHASTHANAM ” is a famous festival being celebrated here by 7 villages around Thiruvaiyaru.
The day before CHITRA POWRNAMI, in the morning Swami Ayyarappar (Swamy of Thiruvaiyaru) will start his trip to visit other Sabdasthanam temples. Firstly he will go to Thiru Pazanam, then both the gods will go to Thiru Vedhikkudi to invite him, then all the 3 gods will visit Thiru Chotruthurai temple to invite him likewise Swami Ayyarappar will reach Thillaisthanam in the late night of the same day with other 6 gods. Thousands of people from various places will follow behind the gods and will assemble at Cauvery in Thillaisthanam at night, that day Thillaisthanam will be filled up with devotees. Swami Neiyaadiappar temple will be opend throughout the night for dharshan, a group of devotees will recite (sing) hymns of Thevaram inside the temple. In the mid night there will be a wonderful crackers show will be shown in the air in front of thousands of people.
The next day morning all the 6 gods will go together behind Swami Ayyarappar (swamy of Thiruvaiyaru) to Thiruvaiyaru and participate in the Marriage function. In the evening all of them will back to their place.
