In India retirement is not gender specific it is 60 for both men and women. For positions particularly in Medical and scientific fields which require special higher qualifications it has now been raised to 65. Above all, our ever young politicians have no retirement age!!

hi

our young politicians are going to 90 years old....still in service...they can serve till death....no age limit...age

limit is ONLY FOR GOVT EMPLOYEES...EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS AND AGE LIMIT ARE ONLY FOR GOVT

EMPLOYESS....THESE TWO NOT APPLICABLE FOR POLITICIANS...

Though life expectancy is lower in india, extending retirement to 65 for academics and doctors [specially women with less life expectancy than men] is not wise.

Most labour on beyond their physical capacity though mentally agile. Most hang on for the money they get as compensation. Many working women in these professions

cannot look forward to good retirement as they have to

do the jobs of normal

housewives after retirement.

That is incorrect..As per world Bank data (2015) women have a life expectancy of 69.9 years and male have 66.9 years...
