Dear Renuka

To hell with Gautam [whatever the hell] - that picture of you is great - prompted
Tmt VR to describe you 'diva'. Now, don't feel shy and please revert back to that.

Rats stink and carry all sorts of diseases and against your name it's awful.

Come on, be a sport. I'll standby you while you 'stand your ground' and handle the
camel's pregnancy, lest someone suspect 'foul play' in it.

Yay Yem

It is also the obligation of the patients, when they go overseas, to ask their doctor to write the generic names of the prescriptions. It is not like the old days when the doctor gave a red liquid and the patient drank it. The patient must be well-informed about his/her condition and the drugs they are taking. If worse comes to worst, they should describe their illnesses to the physician they contact overseas. That way there will not be any confusion.

dear Mr. Iyyarooran,

Please read the posts # 14, #16 and # 51 in the "Meeting in person" thread

by Mr. kk4646 in the Chit Chat section and do the needful.

A new member Mr. Jagusha form your area wants to become your friend! :)

Dear Renuka

I think you people are primitive there. This script is what I call "Medi Granthi Lipi" . Tomorrow's historians
will not have to break their heads trying to decipher this Lipi. Any pharmacist anywhere in India is supposed
to read and understand this script - written by any Doc anywhere in India.

See, this Lipi is well beyond cast / communal / linguistic / religious / regional barriers - one uniform system -
that's our level of achievement in " Unity in Diversity ".

Surely, you cant be "J" of that! Using capital letter / printers, Nah! That's killing an 'Art Form' !

Guruvethunai
Yay Yem
yes the prescription of a particular doctor can be read by his/her own clinic staff or pharmacy they reffer only.as mrs.renukajisays we need not bother to read that special libi

Dear Tmt VR

" Down Down Human life"
" Long live Art Form "

Art form or no art form, let's accept the fact that we lose more lives every year due road / rail / industrial accidents
than to medical goof-ups. We have become so brazen that one hardly takes notice of a few people dead here
or there. Deaths on our roads and railway lines is a daily occurring, so boringly regular that is only a "statistic'.

Add to these dowry deaths, farmer suicides, bride burning, hatred killings, honor killings, abortions,
exam-time suicides, deaths due to road-rage, deaths due to drunken driving and one has a situation when needs
to think whether human life has any value at all!

The death of a Central Minister [ Rajesh Pilot ] in a road accident did not bring-about any noticeable
reform in the way we drive or the way traffic is regulated. One need not go too far out of our country
to see how road rules are followed / enforced.

The deaths of Speaker of Parliament [ Bala Yogi ] and AP CM [YSR ] in helicopter crashes don't seem to have
improved 'air safety' - choppers keeping falling from the sky and aircraft keep popping tires while take-off
or landing, or overshoot the runway altogether i.e., if at all they land at the airstrip assigned !

These are basically because of our [collective] brazenness / callousness and not because of some botched-up
medication / therapy.

I am not sure whether there are any records maintained for deaths due to medical negligence, but
I sure know one thing - it's a long way off before we see a Dr Conrad Murray here.

Art Forms have to be preserved for posterity - this art form, affects our posterity in no way.

dear ananth sir !
no use of keeping records until some effective measures are taken by department concerned. but it wil make us alert to avoid such mishop taking place in our family

Dear Renuka

I Don't know why, but when I read some of the weirdest med jokes, I get reminded of you !

Here's one of them - it goes something like this:

An elderly lady to Doc: " Doc, I am passing a lot of wind, and it's so embarrassing "

Doc : " Passing wind is a pretty natural phenomenon, there is nothing to be embarrassed about it"

Lady:" But Doc, I don't hear a thing and doesn't even smell bad "

Doctor gives her a prescription and asks her to come for a review after a week.

After a week, Doc " How are you feeling now ? "

Lady : " The wind is about the same, but it has started to smell really bad "

Doc : " Excellent "

Lady : " What do you mean Excellent , Doc ?"

Doc : " We've fixed your sinuses, now all we have to do is to take a look at
your hearing ".

one more joke
the relative of apatient was telling the doctor that he was so scared that yamadharma may take the life of the patient.

the doctor replied as consoling word, thinking that he can cure" how yamah can take the life when i am here ? what for we are here ?"

Dear Renuka

Cause of birth : Accident [ failure of contraception - residual karma]
Cause of death: Accident [ road/rail/industrial - precipitated karma]

The period between the 1st accident and the 2nd accident, incidents & co-incidents [ volatile karma ? ]

Please elaborate

Yay Yem
in the world of accidents,
all are met with common accident marriage where we are left with permanent bondage

Dear NainaJi,

That's duality...the pairs of opposite.
GOOD and BAD is just a perception.
The DEVIL is our own evil thoughts.
The RAT carries even Lord Ganesha on its back.

devil is reversal of lived(vazhinthu mudinthavan)like dog is of GOD

Dear Renuka

Have you heard of " Raja Veettu Kannu Kutti " ? Maybe we can, in today's context call him
" Sheikh Beyt Camel Kutty " [ SBCK ] - that speaks a lot for his stamina and sustenance -
having lived through the worst economic times in that part of the world. Camel has been the symbol
for endurance and hope in the worst of geographical conditions for centuries now.

SBCK also seems to be loaded with excellent music - he has uploaded some terrific stuff.
He'll be back once he's found his new oil/gas wells .

Yay Yem

yes . when situation warrant it will be killed to take out water for the travellers in the desert.so camel live in a dangerous company .
guruvayurappan

Dear Sri Guruvayurappan

Contrary to common belief, the hump of the camel is no water storage tank. Sure camel
meat is eaten but then that is just like eating other flesh like mutton / chicken / beef.

Camels are certainly not killed to extract drinking water ! If you so care, I can narrate an
experience of mine, when Arab Bedouins "made" water - we were a bunch of Riggers, Engineers
watching awestruck as it happened.

Most generic medications works as well as the proprietary medication.
It depends on the brand too.
Patients here swear that the generic Kamagra from India works better than the original Viagra!LOL

Some companies do bio equivalent studies before they market the generic drug.
But in Malaysia only when the patent of the proprietary drug is over only then generic drugs can be marketed.

In India as far as I know the law is different cos in India if I am not wrong only the process of making the drug is patented and not the drug itself.
So generic drug companies make a drug with a different chemical formula and come out with the same drug.

Out here in Malaysia both the drug and its chemical process is patented.
So we have to wait for patent to expiry before generic drugs can be marketed.

Generic drugs works as well, cost less for patient and also a good profit margin for doctor.
So everyone is happy..manufacturer,patient and doctor..so its Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu in the medical scenario.

Pl permit me to correct this misstatement. In India too the product patent is now enforced since India joined WTO a couple of years ago. A condition for doing so was to honor the product patent as well as the process. Previously India honored only the process patent (that is the exact starting materials and the chemical route to make the final product). They changed the process by a couple of steps and thus circumvented the original patent. Not anymore. India has to abide by the product patent as well.

Regarding generic prescriptions it is the same chemical formula (structurally speaking) and the same process as the original patent can be used without violating any rights. It is because the original patent expired. Before the patent expiry no generic medication can be made.
