Sir,
Namaskaram. Please advise on the following doubts.
1. Can a Son in law,sit as one of the brahmin(Vishnu,Vishva deva,Pitru and Pretha)on the 12th day function,post death,for his Mother in law.?
2. Which one of the above,is advised,being son in law ?
3. If yes, Any pariharam to be done.
please advice.

Sir,

None of sambandhi's or near realatives can substitute for a brahmin. This is because the obligations are given to the Departed by calling unknown brahmins. In fact in many places the concerned brahmin should not be seen while departing from the house. Since in these days brahmins have become rare, as a substitute a single unknown brahmin would perform double role.As for pariharam, none of original texts calls for the same. I think its human creation. A mistake is a mistake and cannot be retrospectively corrected. The only consolatation you can get is that the mistake was done out of if ignorance (Agyantma). What Lord wants is pure mind, total devotion and doing one's duty to the best of capacity.

same thithi on which the (deceased) person,passed away.?.Please advise.

Which are the functions or rituals should be done compulsarily,after death till I year (Masiyam,
Oona Sraardham etc ), If we miss,which can be done to gether.

ஊன மாசிகம்:-- நாள்27 முதல் 30 நாட்களுக்குள் முதல் ஊன மாசிகம். 40 நாட்களுக்கு மேல் 45 நாட்களுக்குள் இரண்டாவது ஊன மாசிகம். 170 நாட்களுக்கு மேல் 180 நாட்களுக்குள் மூன்றாவது. 340 நாட்களுக்கு மேல் 355 நாட்களுக்குள் நான்காவது ஊன மாசிகம் செய்ய வேண்டும்
வெள்ளிகிழமை; ப்ரதமை, சஷ்டி, ஏகாதசி, சதுர்தசி,அமாவாசை திதிகள் ; க்ருத்திகை; ஆயில்யம், பூரம், கேட்டை, மூலம், பூராடம், பூரட்டாதி ; த்ரிபுஷ்கரம், த்விபுஷ்கரம் ஆகிய நாட்களில் ஊனமாசிகம் செய்யக்கூடாது.


த்விதியை, ஸப்தமி, த்வாதசி, என்ற பத்ர திதிகள், ஞாயிறு, செவ்வாய், சனி என்ற மூன்று கிழமைகள், புனர்பூசம்,உத்ரம், விசாகம்,உத்ராடம், பூரட்டாதி என்ற த்ரிபாத நக்ஷத்திரங்கள், --இவற்றுள் மூன்று சேர்ந்து சம்பவித்தால் த்ரிபுஷ்கரம் எனப்படும். இரண்டு சேர்ந்து சம்பவித்தால் த்விபுஷ்கரம்.

தோஷமற்ற நாட்கள் கிடைக்காவிட்டால் அந்தந்த காலங்களின் கடைசி தினத்தில் செய்ய வேண்டும்.

கர்த்தாவின் ஜன்ம நக்ஷத்திரம் வரும் நாளிலும் ஊன மாசிகம் செய்ய க்கூடாது. ஆதலால் ஊன மாசிகம் இறந்த திதியில் வராது. ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் இறந்த திதியில் மாசிகமும் அதற்கு முன் தினம் சோதகும்பமும் செய்ய வேண்டும்.ஒரு வருடம் முடியும் வரை. மூத்த மகனுக்கு மாத்திரம் தான் மாசிகம் சோதகும்பம் செய்ய அதிகாரம் உள்ளது. மற்ற மகன் களுக்கு அதிகாரம் இல்லை

ஊன மாசிகம் . செய்ய முடியாமல் போய் விட்டால் போனது போனது தான். வேறு நாட்களில் செய்ய முடியாது. மாசிகம் சோதகும்பம் செய்ய முடியாது போனால் அடுத்த மாதம் சேர்த்து செய்யலாம்.
