Opinion column writers are putting in writing what they want or what the some capitalists (crony or otherwise) expect modi to do, even though modi never said or subscribed to that. Birla, adi godrej, kiran shaw of biocon, tata are satisfied with the progress and direction of modi government. Modi's election ghoshana was the upliftment of the poor, education, skill development, and infrastructure - power, water, roads and railways - as enablers for all sections of society, especially the rural and village folk. He has virtually eliminated lobbying, favouritism and corruption in government projects, and did away with most of the hurdles that delay approval of projects and accompanying bribes.

He is on his declared path, and will deliver, despite the dirty house he got from the previous government, biased media well fed by the anti hindu previous powers (local and foreign).

There was no power cut in delhi this summer, at least not highlighted by the media. Good news is not news of course.

"Cheers, tears and fears" are how one can summarise the first year in office of the Narendra Modi government with the promised ‘achche din [good days]' still a distant dream for the scientific community.
Mangalyaan brought cheers and the monsoon unfortunately could be playing truant for the second year in a row that could bring tears. However, a worrying factor is a certain fear among the scientific community instilled by the summary dismissals of top boffins like the head of defence research, Avinash Chander.

Good thing is only 0.4% of the indian population reads english media, and a signiicant percentage of the group does not agree because of lies, bias, and paid journalism.

Modi govt has removed those people who were deliberately and wantonly violating the rules and conditions set for the organization, and some in fact were there because of flouting the norms by politicians in putting them there. This applies to avinash chandar. The writer is silent on who were the other top boffins!

Other similar cases in the last year, where set rules and norms were flouted.

1. 4 year degree course in delhi university, set up without approval of UGC and chancellor. This was revoked by HRD minister. Since the degree is not recognised, 20000 students will face a bleak and uncertain future.

2. Replacement of samskrit with german in kendriya vidyalays in violation of the constitution, and the rules of education board. German is not an indian language as per our constitution. This surreptitious move by kapil sibal to please some was thrown out. The samskrit teachers were threatened to learn german (had a week long crash course) or lose jobs. Some babus and lucky ones visited germany, that is a different story.

3. Delhi IIT director opened an offshore centre in maldives, without the approval of the chancellor, president and against the constitution of IIT. The project was scuttled and he was grilled the education ministry. He offered to resign, but not allowed.

4. Kakodkar, IIT mumbai director threw tantrums that his recommendations were ignored in the selection of directors for new IITs. He offered to resign, but he is still there. There is a 4 step process for selection of IIT directors by a committee. Kakodakar bypassed or short circuited the process and came out with his own list. Union minister Irani intervened and ensured that his list was thrown in the dust bin, a full list of about 30 candidates was prepared, and the selection committee went through the full process of evaluation and selection. Kakodkar opted out as his ego was hurt. But still he is holding the job, and not thrown out nor his resignation accepted.

Simple regurgitation of of articles does not help the cause, because some are lies, are full of biased opinions and 'vanmam'.

What is very interesting though that most of these stocks have nothing to do with the policy push that the Narendra Modi government can give them.

One can understand an infrastructure company like L&T rallying 50% on hopes that the government would provide an infrastructure push. But, out of the 5 stocks we have analysed, four are from the pharma sector, not much push the government can give the sector. Black money campaign results in info flow from Swiss, others

Let us hope the trickle becomes a flood. Slow and steady.

"NEW DELHI: It isn't just Switzerland but several other countries — including tax havens which were earlier stalling the government's efforts to share information on Indians with unaccounted wealth — that have now indicated their willingness to disclose data following vigorous persuasion by the tax department over the past few months.

"It's the result of a sustained campaign that information flow has started. The new black money law and the benami bill have been very positive. Foreign countries recognize that combating black money is no longer just a slogan but is something that India is extremely serious about," said a source.

The disclosures go beyond the HSBC list with several cases on which independent probes have been conducted where the government is now hoping to get information. There is already evidence of that in some of the names which have been published in the Swiss Federal Gazette.

Sources in the government feel that with the new black money law which provides for up to 10 years in jail for those keeping undisclosed wealth abroad and with the G20 information sharing agreement set to kick in, those with illicit assets will be squeezed if they don't come clean.

PTI playing mischief. It did an interview of Sri Modi, but posted the interview in bits and pieces in its website, perhaps to edit out sections which it did not like. Modi showed its place by releasing the transcript first. Shameless presstitutes! Sonia is still pulling strings. Before modi became pm, doordharshan did some similar misquotes and amplified by the media, but then too modi released the video of the interview to expose the shameless media.

The Prime Minister today released the full text of his interview to PTI after bizarre behaviour by PTI which had released only in bits and pieces. A full 4 hours later PTI also released the full transcript through its website but not before several questions were raised on its behavior.

It is my personal feeling that Shri Narendra Modi gave so many assurances and promises to the common, poor people of India, about making their lives a heavenly bliss of sorts (கண் அல்லாததையெல்லாம் பொன்னாக்குகிறேன்-kind of promises) that now the people have become impatient because such a heavenly existence does not seem anywhere nearby. Hence what Shri Modi and his entourage-on-blitzkrieg should do now is to give a realistic "road-map" of exactly what the government plans to achieve in the next (i.e., second) year.

I wish somebody from our membership who is close to the BJP/Sangh Parivar/ Modi gives this suggestion.

Otherwise, my feeling is that Modi government is working extreme-strenuously (looking at how some of the ministers have been reduced to straw-size, that there is a real danger of many of the group finding themselves in hospital by the end of the second year!
