It is not only offensive humor but also any offensive attitude or behaviour that can be fended off if one develops the defence well

One can build an impregnable defence system which even the mightiest nations might find difficult to accomplish for its citizens.

Good thoughts have great potential for great power but the power gets actually manifest when you are able to implement them as actions.

When you are able to consistently implement your good thoughts, the process becomes spontaneous at some point and this is the genesis of the power to create spiritual energy which is nothing but possessing the ability to do mental as well as physical work.

This is the secret folks for acquiring spiritual power. But trust me it does come only after a long long fight because getting good thoughts by itself is not easy and implementing them consistently is a lot more difficult.

Why do we need power?

Once you reach a point where you develop spiritual power, your responses and reactions begin to become spontaneous and appropriate.

We will come back to humor again now as part of our objective to be good. When you cant defend against your opponent's attack you cannot be good. It is necessary to keep humor as part of the defence system. It is a frontline defence mechanism and can be very effective.

The most frequently and easily happening reaction to an offence is anger or hate. Equanimity is the most difficult. Humor is easier but still difficult.

Remember I am talking of reaction to mental pressure and one cannot be humorous when the offence is physical.

Equanimous reactions should not be confused with cold reactions. The latter are perverse versions of equanimous reactions.

The way to developing humor is this. You consciously and assiduously inject into yourself, the thoughts of the power of being good and how being wicked cannot match the power of good and will be conquered by the good. Belief in an omnipotent benevolent entity helps a lot.

After a certain point the thought of good being overwhelmingly more powerful than the wicked becomes subconscious and when some one unjustifiably uses offence against you, you get a amused response spontaneously. The important point is that you take off the force of the offence by making light of it and have the potential to respond naturally and appropriately

This is about the first step of getting the right thoughts but how do you make them work under constant pressure from environment?

In fact it is very likely that the two parts, that is getting the right thoughts and being able to implement them proceed together, though in a gradual way.

To prepare a proper defence to the pressures of the environment, you need to understand very well the techniques your opponents employ and then dumb them down.

The important point to note throughout is that your responses should reach the level of spontaneity for them to be sustainable.

Spontaneity requires making subconscious thoughts work and this requires constant and sincere conscious efforts

Malicious attackers typically focus on parts only such as your physical appearance or your wealth without any connections and deprived of a higher message. Such attacks are destructive in nature.

Many times, your opponent who uses offence knowingly or unknowingly conveys a veiled message. When he perceives you have an upper hand, it is typically opposite of what is overtly conveyed.

Here are some of what your attacker might target:

1. Demeaning your physical self and aspects
2. Demeaning your intelligence and accomplishments
3. Demeaning your character and personality
4. Demeaning your associations

As I mentioned earlier the basis of defence for these attacks, is the subconscious belief in good over the evil.
