[h=1]Man hooks up with girl on Facebook, only to find she's his wife[/h]Bareilly: Some unions, clearly, are not made in heaven.

A squabbling couple which had gone their separate ways, unable to deal with unending fights, took to Facebook to find new love and a fresh start to their shattered lives. However, little did they know that even after using pseudonyms to hook up with a partner they would end up with each other again.

Cops said chances of this happening were "very, very negligible" in the real world. But as a policeman chuckled, "Such things happen when your luck is bad."

It so happened that a husband and wife in Bareilly (names withheld) changed their identities on FB to hook up "with someone better". After browsing on the site for months, the man found somebody "very interesting". Around the same time, his wife too met an "exciting prospect" on the net. The chats started soon and, about three months later, the "boy and girl" decided to meet.

A day was fixed, a time set and a restaurant agreed upon. It was an old favourite at the Aub Khan crossing in Bareilly. But when the hour arrived, and as luck would have it, the two were aghast to find out that they had in fact been chatting with each other.

There was a film 'Mitr-my friend' starring shobana and nasser abdullah where shobana drifts away from husband to find relief in online friend only to discover that the

online friend is none other than her husband.

Nice film that talks of need for space between man and spouse and women needing it to fulfill their own interests and aspirations.

These sort of incidents became very common when internet started and people were using only emails to connect and meet . There was one case a father and daughter met using fake names and giving fake ages .

It seems that one “understands” the other one when they are unknown and far away!!

The same one “misunderstands” the other one, while they are near and dear!!

We have to be careful about strangers..Our enemies could be there on the other side...The recent case of an ISI mole befriending an Air force man to part with secrets is a pointer to such nefarious activities!

When I was young, My family was reluctant to accept a brahmin girl into my family for marriage as she was working in american embassy.

There was generally an anti US feeling as we had a regime which had socialist pretentions ruling in india .

It is just a phobia where we think every girl on internet is a mole wanting to lead innocent TB to part with dark secrets.

Get over it my friend.

Internet friends could be far better than real life relatives.

They can relate better if you have transacted long enough to understand them

Wise always think and act. And it is fools that get trapped.

[h=1]"Facebook Stalker Traps 80 Girls[/h]HYDERABAD: His name: Vedika, Shriya, Rishika, Jhanvi, Sufiyaan... His targets: teenage girls. His demand: Nude pictures of girls.

A youth, who befriended girl in the city using fake Facebook profiles and blackmailed them threatening to release private conversations and pictures, was arrested by Cyberabad police Friday.

Abdul Majid, a B Tech Computer Science student and resident of Banjara Hills, created multiple fake profiles on Facebook, posing himself as a girl, and encouraged girls to involve in private talks, to trap them"

In the 1970s there was a hit song called Pina Colada.

Here is the song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5_EIikdFr8

The lyrics are funny

I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long
Like a worn-out recording of a favorite song
So while she lay there sleepin', I read the paper in bed
And in the personal columns there was this letter I read

'If you like Piña Coladas, getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight in the dunes on the cape
I'm the love that you've looked for write to me and escape'

I didn't think about my lady, I know that sounds kinda mean
But me and my old lady had fallen into the same old dull routine
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad
And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half bad

"Yes, I like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon and cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O'Malleys where we'll plan our escape"

So I waited with high hopes and she walked in the place
I knew her smile in an instant, I knew the curve of her face
It was my own lovely lady and she said, "Oh, it's you?"
Then we laughed for a moment and I said, "I never knew"

"That you liked Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain
And the feel of the ocean and the taste of champagne
If you like making love at midnight in the dunes on the cape
You're the lady I've looked for, come with me and escape"

If you like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain
If you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain
If you like making love at midnight in the dunes on the cape
I'm the love that you've looked for, write to me and escape

Yes, I like Piña Coladas and getting caught in the rain
I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne
I've got to meet you by tomorrow noon and cut through all this red tape
At a bar called O'Malleys where we'll plan our escape

Imo, we have to be careful with online friends who are not known to us personally. In facebook, when one adds a friend, the question is asked if we know them personally. I wonder what leads these individuals to answer "yes" to a profile whose real face they have never met or seen before. Point to ponder !

Nowadays, face to face conversations are slowly drying out. It seems the choice of pastime to use whatsapp, facebook, play games or watch tv/movies, than reading books, or having a jovial/pleasant conversation, or some joint activities. I meant the younger and middle generation and not those who are above 50.
