By early cyclone warnings of Phailin by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)and timely evacuation of close to one million people from the coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra the Governments of Odisha and Andhra along with National Disaster Management authority (NDMA) have done a yeoman service...A similar cyclone but of slightly more intensity had killed an estimated 15000 people but in Phailin only 23 persons perished

Let us salute our Governments for this monumental task...Our Meteorological predictions, for a change,were also dot on target

In such an emergency situation, the cordination exhibited by all the concerned, more especially Meterological, Police, Civil Defence and Municipal Authorities deserve Kodus. It is nice to note that there were shelters to accommodate the civilians. A well planned Preparedness on receipt of Early warning system and execution of Evacuation have saved lives. Congrats to the entire team of Officials/staff involved in the exercise.

like this..if the same management strategy...we can save in a lot of ppl in MP temple tragedy.....we learn from our tragedy.....but

we just forget after sometimes......we have to preapare like this in all festivals in temples/worship/public places....emergency

Unfortunately we did not have any early warning systems for birds and animals...About 1000 Siberian birds seem to have perished in the cyclone in Andhra
