Historical development of Hinduism
[This is in reference to kunjuppu's views on hinduism and the related historical development of the same on which my present studies are focussed.
While many of our swaimijis with ashrams spread across the globe have similar classrooms on yoga, meditation, vedas, upanishads, gita etc they do not have ones on the historical aspects connected with the development processes of hinduism or on ones involving the movements in various parts of the country covering a few centuries commencing from vedic era.The documentary by Michael Woods of BBC on History of India seem to reflect british views as we were under them for many years and the history of hindu religion has not been properly narrated fully and completely. The loss of Pataliputhra and Nalanda libraries during successive invasions has costed us very vital links! Can our Indian Swamijis who earn so much can spend some time and effort on this aspect which also will rejuvenate our hindu reliogious studies? Any one can give some valid inputs will help me in my studies tcQUOTE=kunjuppu;29951]everyone and geetha too,

geetha, i think you are the first anthropologist that i know of, in this forum. that does not mean there are none.
also, there are many who are familiar with historical hinduism, without acknowledging their anthropological roots.
