This coupled with tuition fee waiver for SC/ST & disabled as well as extremely poor section will go a long way in equalising the social fabric of the country.

Thanks and well done IITs and the Ministry of HRD. Long pending demand met now.

The IIT council and the Ministry of HRD should take extra steps to expose themselves to rural population who have never heard of such institutions till date.

On the other hand, they should also respect merit and increase seats equally to accommodate the merit listed candidates.

Yes Sir,
Fees are doubled; but in any way, the prestigious IIT is still, less costlier than the capitation fee in the 3rd rate Engg. colleges.

completely agreed. On an average any engg. college in private sector is currently charging Rs.90,000/- onwards for their very poor infrastructured ill equiped illiterate colleges who do not evern have proper teaching faculty. They will now start increasing their fee also to similar level.

The only catch point is a student just out of Pvt. engg. college fetches Rs.6000/- onwards on BPO assignment and one from IITs fetches around a lakh per month.

A B.com or B.A student fetches more than double of this amount i.e. 10k onwards and are in great demand.

Many such things are not exposed by media channels, neighther a proper survey conducted over reservation and its benefits

Our private sector will further increase the pay packet of IIT graduates.

Increasing the fees of general candidates will make the students heading abroad for studies and settling will pay fully for their education in india,

IMHO , those enjoy concessions -either general or SC/ST should be bonded to serve govt for a minimum period.this is normally done
