quite weird liking for autopsies in the mortuary. there is something final about death.
very rarely we hear stories that those given up for dead wake up on the way to the burning/burial round.
You dont know how much easier it is dealing with the dead then with the living.
Really..with living patients..you have to keep hearing them out non stop..some are fussy and never listen to advice given..some are argumentative too and dealing with humans day in a day out can get on your nerves at times.
With a dead person in the morgue..the waiting queue is less unless some major accident..but the advantage is patient is not fussy..patient does not talk..patient does not have to listen to us too..we just do our job and patient is sent home...the silence of the morgue is very peaceful.
Its not becos there is something final about death..its just that no one talks in the morgue!LOL
But believe me I have seen even Police Officers scared of entering a Morgue.Once I had to do an autopsy for an accident case and the Police Officer had to accompany his Police Photographer to witness the Autopsy and boy was he scared!LOL
He said 'doc can I wait outside..I have a new born baby at home..I dont want to go home after entering the Morgue cos my baby might get some disturbance"
I told him 'as you please"
I was thinking "what a coward! I was at that time 6 months pregnant and did not fear the morgue and here a Police Officer was scared"
But you know out here many people wear all sorts of amulets for "protection" and some have rigid rules that they cant wear it to a Morgue or a cemetery cos it might be rendered ineffective ..so I was thinking most probably that Police guy was wearing one of those amulets and did not want to render his amulet ineffective.
