Yes what your aasthana vadhiyar told is correct. When doing the pratyapithia srarstham we do pithru karma only to three thalaimurai of to whom
thesrartham is performed. I.e if app srartham appa. thatthya and kollutahtar are offered pindam. If amma srasrtham we offerpindam to amma, appa vazhi patti and appa vazhi kollu patthi only. But in Gaya srasrtsham more over this all our gnathi varga pitrus, Karunya pithrum even ovur firedn who dosest not belong toour community,. thic and thins and for pet animals also. Apart from thahat if those who are not having mother we can offer 16 pindams tomother especially for the difficulsts and dustunbances
given by us at the time of pregnancy, delvery and for early goroth of child hood. etc. Also it is beliededd that when one can dogaya srsatham 14 thalaimurai before his birth and seven thalasimurao including him after his birth are get rid of naraha vaadhani.
So gaya sratham is to be done with o nly guidance of Gayavali prohits with gayavali brahmins and the pidam is offered as 48/64 at three places 1. at palguna nathideeram 2.at vishnu paatham and 3. at Akshyavadam.also withbhojanam of 2/3 brahminds. I hoope vastram is not offerd in contact srarham if we wsih we can offer vastram seperately.
