Adapting is individual choice and is never pleasant to give up a lifestyle you are accustomed to. you have made a statement for all ladies when you say I will not adapt. keep it up. good luck

Dear Sir,

I like the spiritual aspect and the jnaana aspect of religion..I somehow do not like to participate in rituals..even sitting for the wedding ritual I was wondering 'when is this going to get over!LOL

When I was child my parents used to get scared seeing my behavior which they felt was not too religious but now when I am adult and after they see my deep interest in Sanskrit study and study in religious text they have understood that I love spirituality.

But not wanting to adapt sometimes can be mistaken for arrogance but for me I view it as being honest.

So whenever I am confronted by anyone I do not fight but I give them an explanation why I wont do something and give my valid reasons too and eventually people can see that I am being honest.

But at the same time I do not stop anyone from being themselves and never impose my believes on anyone..its a mutual respect with individuality maintained.

You know my lack of interest in rituals put me into difficulties when I got married the conventional way . Since I did not have a thread,my brother gave me a thread and told me that I have to touch my nose and ears or ears alone when instructed by purohit.Purohit was told to take care of me for an extra amount. I threw away the thread as soon as the marriage was over. I ceremonially borrow a thread on occassions such as children marriage and similar such occassions. only 4 or 5 times in one lifetime I wore one. Not bad. This is my compromise.with rituals
Spirituality and jnaana aspect,it might be a case of 'sau choohe khakar billi haj ko chali'. Out of curiosity I read all the posts related to it in this site

Dear Sir,

LOL! You are right about the Billi story..I wonder why Billi only went for Haj and not a Hindu Billi??

Anyway you know why Jnaana is important?? Otherwise how are we going to escape on technical grounds?

Like when someone tells me that "this should be done at this time..good auspicious time blah blah blah" I tell them the line from Narayana Upanishad where its says Kalascha Narayanah(Time is Narayana)..so that means are we trying to say there is a Bad Time Narayana and a Good Time Narayana?

So then everyone gets confused..I dont believe in all this good time bad time etc.

Thats why I pay lots attention to Jnaana cos we can always give valid reasons for us not wanting to follow any tradition.

Great reasoning for liking Jnana. When I require jnana justification I will call on you.Regarding Muslim Billis,
there is a possibility that it got converted from hindu religion. There is abundance of billis following the hindu religion

Dear Balu Sir,
Ultimately, P J Sir too says 'nAn avanillai'. :clap2:

you posted nice lyrics of kannadasan from sumaithangi. The 3 hour film was made by dirctor sridhar based on 3 page short story in kumudam magazine by ra.ki. rangarajan. Is PJ sir follwing the same approach converting a small interraction with a muslim girl into a love story with kaadhu and mooku to appeal to tamil ladies who have been posting songs to add to his story. Probably his grand children would not like to hear his stories anymore and he has changed the audience to produce a blockbuster
