Covid Vaccination

Bjp ruled states are managing corona well
No shortage of medicines or essentials
BBMP the local municipal set up is delivering vegetables at apartment gate at reduced prices
Online sites like amazon or bigg bazar are making supplies efficiently.
I find difficulty only finding postal services.Forced to use private couriers .A bit expensive.
Hospitals manage patients well .
Only emergencies are managed by ward boys and interns.
Specialists stay home .T hey give online directions.
They charge a bomb
1600 to 2000 rs for online consultation
There is no shortage of these specialists though.
They play safe , recommend a lot of tests before prescribing anything.
Once one is in medical cycle one ends up with lot of expense and minimal relief

Bjp ruled states are managing corona well
Such tall claims cannot be accepted in toto.

For example, take this State, where there was no election recently, but it is reported that there is exponential rise in corona virus cases across the State and adding fuel to the fire is shortage of beds, shortage of ventilators, shortage of Oxygen, etc etc

There is lockdown for 14 days across the State from Tuesday !!

It is reported that well managed State has another biggest single day spike of 34,804 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total caseload to 13.39 lakh, while 143 related fatalities pushed the toll to 14,426, the Health department said on Sunday. Bengaluru Urban alone accounted for 20,733 cases.

Some jumps in haste to declare biased judgement while the actual ground realty is quite grim.

Lot of relief materials from wester countries ,US gulf is pouring in . Armrd forces are roped in for movement of supplies and setting up of covid treatment hopitals in delhi and some other places.
Slowly india is getting its act together.
Vaccination is in full swing
Supply gaps are getting attention.
In a couple of weeks I hope state and the centre will coordinate smoothly for treatment and relief
India has sufficient goodwill to get support of world powers.

My aptmt gruop MC is headed by a BJP activist
She ensures supply of vegetables from BBMP in their van at gate at low prices.
We are getting vaccinated at doorstep.
What more one could desire?
It is better life than normal times.

Bjp ruled states are managing corona well

If BJP was capable then it would not be spreading in Madhya Pradesh

If the other Party was capable in then it would not be spreading in Chhattisgarh

If the Ruling party was capable, then it would not be spreading Maharashtra

If the AK party was capable, then it would not be spreading in Delhi, the thread opener need not have come over to Bangalore seeking safety

If the Ruling party of was capable, then it would not be spreading in UP

What is the case of US…..? The world learnt lot of lessons during Coronavirus Outbreak in the U.S

Why it spread like anything at Sweden, Greece, Belgium, etc..???

Some crave to jump into issues heart first – mind later. LOL

hi

i think...the delhi hospital system toataly collapsed...my relatives having covid 19 in delhi...

a lot confusion in delhi......system failures of the govt...

It is only a relative comparison.
Bangalore is far better than delhi or mumbai
If one is in an apartment complex managed by someone with politcal connection all facilities become available. We get vaccination at doorstep.
Anyone with covid gets isolated at home itself.
Top hospitals accept residents on priority .
Being in an elite society has its plus points.
It so happens that it is a bjp ruled state

Many of the residents are working for mncs or big four IT..IT majors have got their employees and their families vaccinated on priority irrespective of age.
Some global MNCs are helping to relocate their employees in another country. Many hold dual citizenship. It helps them to go to another country if there is a crisis.

Since many earn big money they get maids and cooks paying them much more than the market rates. But they insist on timeliness and efficiency in return.
Most house helps get sundays off
What more can they ask for?

Admtting children to school is a major concern.
Most would like proximity and education which makes it easy to go to get schooling in any other country .Most do not mind the higher expense if it is an international school .State board or central schools are av oided. Most go for ICSE .
In the process most get into english language scbools and kids can speak in mother tongue only home.

The Delhi high court on Thursday asked the Centre why Madhya Pradesh was allocated more oxygen than what was demanded while Delhi's demand was not met. "We are not saying that people in the other parts of the country should die. But if the demand of a particular state is x, then why did you give it x+y? Why don't you give y to Delhi?" a bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli observed. The court, however, clarified in its order that it's not making any finding and it would be done only when the Centre has given its submissions.

The court was told that Madhya Pradesh was allocated 540 MT oxygen while it demanded 445 MT. Maharashtra was allocated 1661 MT, while the demand was for 1,500 MT.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said the Centre will respond to the court's query and will give the reasons for giving more oxygen to Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. He said there are other states, including Gujarat, which have been allocated less than the demand.

As the high court was hearing a case related to the Capital's oxygen shortage, it asked the police to release oxygen cylinders and Remdesivir they seize as they can be used in the treatment of Covid-19. The police should not seize cylinders from individuals as they may have bought them at an exorbitant price in an emergency situation, the judge said. "Whenever any seizure is made, the IOs (investigating officers) should immediately inform the DCs (deputy commissioners) and also ascertain the genuineness of medicine. The medicine should also be immediately put in a refrigerated environment. We also direct the Delhi Police to not seize any cylinder or medicine from patients or attendants. It goes without saying that Delhi Police would be bound to conduct an investigation with the cooperation of the public at large," the court said.

Essential medicines and oxygen cylinders cannot be kept as 'case properties' and instead should be put back into circulation, the court observed.

Being in an elite society has its plus points.

Being as an elite, has its minus points too which one cannot be overlooked

COVID-19 has its impact on elite

With the pandemic spreading, it is reported that the lawyers Offices are attracting clients more particularly the elite ones for consultation to write last will and testaments, estate planning and details about bequeaths

It is reported that they are more worried about both mortality and wealth erosion.

Wealthy are reported to be breaking their head to make sure that those they want to take care of do not suffer.

It is said that some of the elites worries about business losses and stock-market volatility as both have led to many more wealthy seniors writing their wills as well as revisiting earlier plans after Covid-related wealth erosion.

They seemed to have felt the urgent need to be well prepared with a documented and updated family will.

They are NOT definitely relaxed

It is said that restrictions in the parts of the country took a toll on Dallal Street and Investors were reported to have lost several crores during the session.

Fear of inevitable is compelling many to plan the succession, which preferably should be done in good times when there is enough time to plan it.

Some seemed to have realised that the absence of a will can causes great inconvenience to their family members

India’s rich are really busy in completing this exercise with great urgency

Thank God, there are sections which really enjoy their peaceful life without any such worries even in times of crisis like this.

Some wealthy families trying to flee the country by private jet

One-way economy-class trips to Dubai are going for the equivalent of more than 10 times the regular price.

And that shows how desperately people are trying to get away.

Thank God, there are sections which really enjoy their peaceful life without any such worries even in times of crisis like this.

They are blessed in deed.

There is no glory in being poor
Many like to boast about their poverty as something holy.
They wait for doles from govt and other agencies.
India is full of such people.
Politicians live off them and make them their vote banks.
Our economic management makes possible breeding more of such types.
The gap between rich and the poor is only widening.
Any economic downturn is a blessing for the political class..It is a golden chance to increase their vote bank as more fall below poverty line

It is a misconception that indian stock market is not doing well. While there is a small downturn it is considered the best time to buy quality stocks .
Pharma shares are doing well because of covid.
FMCG is getting advantage of captive home delivery. Supply chain shares are up.
Our farm sector is largely unaffected.by covid. So minimum growth is assured.Only some industrials are taking a hit with shut down and lay off.
IT and work from home is catching up to spur growth.
Only rupee is weakening against dollar. So it might help exports.

Many companies are looking to hire experts to become technologically more competitive. They are restructuring to implement cloud and AI in their company. These subject professionnel are in demand.
As usual indian techies are in forefront .They charge a pittance and work long hours to meet exacting schedules. Our women techies are sought after most. Many earn tens of lakhs rupees per year .This is considered cheap by international standards.
Indian big four IT companies pay little and pocket most of the money employing these techies.

With future in mind one can invest in shares dealing with AI, Cloud computing, 5G,^ genome testing
Some I think off arr Biocon ,Dixon technologies,Route Mobile,TCS Tata elxsi
Professionals in these field are likely to be getting good offers
We need to be thinking of future.
Covid times will pass.
Those who invest in these areas will be winners.

With rapid covid spread and home quaratine and working from home shares catering to biotechnology AI cloud 5g of small companies might be more sought after. My favorites are biocon, dixon technology , affle ,Route mobile,. T tata elxsi .There are many more .One can fish in the market for such picks.
It is like buying vegetable .You cannot distinguish good from bad by looking at it online.
Only when the share tanks one tries to minimise loss and sell.If it goes up one has picked a winner.
It is good to pick a share which is quoted 3 or four times yearly earnings .

Watching cricket matches online is a pastime in covid times. Foreign players are finding it difficult to return home. Their countries have banned flights from india .C
Couple of them have donated 50000 thousand dollars for covid relief.
Some players like Ashwin and two umpires have quit as their families want them back
It must be frustrating to play in empty grounds in far off locations like delhi or ahmedabad.
The game has become totally commercial
Most would like covid to end soon.

i got this article from the guardian.com from USA...very sad story of COVID IN INDIA....written by

Arundhati roy....
Long before the corona was even heard of, I personally felt that Modi was an arrogant big mouth and I was never his admirer or supporter though I still support some of the decisions (which Ms Roy has criticised) like CAA and Article 370 while being against many like Ram Mandir and Patel Statue which in my opinion are just waste of time and money. And I am saying this about the Patel statue while being a very great admirer of Sardar Patel as a man who thought of the welfare of his followers/ supporters and was indifferent to his own image in the eyes of the world (the exact opposite of Gandhi and Nehru who were very image conscious and more obsessed with their own beliefs and blind and deaf to ground realities particularly in the matter of deep rooted religious differences and hatred). After Nehru and Mrs. Gandhi, Modi is the most powerful prime minister and can get things done with a snap of his fingers if only he wants to. But, Modi has managed to shock even me by his utter indifference to the sufferings of the people/ corona victims. I say even me because I have obviously and very greatly underestimated his level of arrogance.

Ms Roy's assessment of Modi may be accurate but is it comprehensive with regard to the cause for the current situation. Not in my opinion.

Rahul Gandhi and many others not wearing masks and where is the required social distancing?

I am not endorsing the statement of the former CPM MP, Joyce George. I have inserted the link only for the photo (proof) which clearly shows that RaGa is violating all safety norms while mudslinging leaders of other parties. This school visit was sometime in March 2021 but the article by Ms Roy is about a month later as she mentions events of Apr 22 and Apr 25. She is all praise for RaGa as the first person to alert the Government about the potential threat of corona. Is it enough to just warn and then go about business as usual holding mass rallies and aggravating the problem by adding the virus propaganda to his political propaganda? Even if Ms Roy claims that she has not seen this pic, surely she is aware of all the gatherings organised at the behest of Rahul. I may independently feel the same way on this issue but I will never be influenced by her writing. I have read many more articles by Ms Roy and while she may speak the truth she will never speak the whole truth.

There was a short program on 'India Today TV' where they had slammed the centre, states, all the parties (ruling and opposition), public and even many scientific establishments (for underestimating the destructive potential). I felt it was a fairer assessment.

I am aware that writing about Patel, Nehru and Gandhi in this context is a digression but then the great Booker Prize winner has written about many more things which are irrelevant to the corona crisis.

I have read about someone by the name of Samuel Pepys, who maintained a diary where he recorded the daily events in the time of the 'great plague' of London and then the 'great fire' of London (which followed the plague).

Krish44 sir, no offence, but after seeing several of your posts in this thread, are you just keeping a record of what daily life is like in this second wave of corona?

Today I got my first covid shot right at my doorstep due to initiative of the apartment complex in bangalore.
It was covishield .Though iI was diabetic and had allergy issues .no bad effect after 3 hours.Hopefully I do not get any temp
I am armed with dolo 650 .Let me see what happens.Keeping my fingers crossed.
All the best sir. Take care .

Slowly more families within the apartment complex are testing positive and getting confined to their flats.
Others are isolating themselves morr than before.
Even lifts are becoming unsafe due tocovid.
Prefer stairs with masks on.
House helps are thoroughly checked at gate of complex.
Shut down curfew are observed strictly.
TV show sad stories of some dying due to oxygen shortage or medicines.
Now cricket matches are getting cancelled as some players have tested positive.
I hear about some people I know in delhi passing away .
How to stay sane in this pandemic.?

I am wondering how indian stock market is stable when fundamentals do not support it.
Many support the idea that it will crash but it does not happen.
Now metals and pharma are doing well.
I casually keep playing with many shares more to occupy myself than making any money.
Since I keep shuffling my portfolio with strict stop loss and selling even on 5%gain I have not lost or gained much.
It is now more of a sport than serious investing.
In these covid times it is a way to keep oneself occupied.
