Its not a surprise I would say. All the Baniya's I've met in life would rather save even a paisa if it can be. But the thing is that they are only accumalating wealth and not spending it.

I have never seen a baniya who would openly offer to pay for food in case of get togethers or small office parties for an example. Its in the genes.
