Of late, we come across regularly news on harvesting of important organs like heart, kidneys, liver, lungs from brain head patients and are being used for the needy ones. However, the success rate is not known in such transplants.

What does brain head mean for? Will the heart of brain dead patient work and, if so, will the patient experience any pain while removing essential parts?

Experts can explain.

This is just unbelievable!

The Beating Heart Donors

''Shewmon compiled 150 documented cases of brain-dead patients whose hearts continued to beat, and whose

bodies did not disintegrate, past one week’s time. In one remarkable case, the patient survived 20 years after

brain death before succumbing to cardiac arrest.''
