The holy book Ramayana tells the tale of the victor Rama, the incarnation of God who slew Ravana the evil demon of darkness. It is the story of the victor.

Is there a different story to be told by Ravana and the asura people who are the vanquished.

There is a book by Anand Nilakandan -tale of the oppressed- story of ravana nd his people.

Has anyone read it?

In Asura Dharma there is no ID or Password Mantra Deeksha.

No need to be given a new identity.

There is no Asurananda Giri or Asurananda Saraswati.

Asuras just go by logic.

Why embrace a new name and add on to a new identity when we actually need to shed our identity eventually?

So feel free to be part of Asura Sangam..no rules to follow...so there would be no rules to break either.

I have not.

I have not read the book but I feel Rama and Ravan had a Divine Bromance..that is both cared for each other deeply in a very Divine manner.

One fine day I should write a book called The Divine Bromance An Asuras point of view.

Unless we know the exact meaning of 'Asura' and 'Sura', forming a Sangam may be one more in the cupboard of so many Sangams.

There was no sudden provocation to go the Asura way.

I was always in the Asura camp.

Today let me give you some gyan about Narakasura.

Narakasura was a great devotee of Goddess Kamakhyaand king of progjyotishpur now Gauhati capital of assam.

His grand daughter Bhanumathi thru son Bhagadutta was married to Duryodana and so bhagaduttas sena fought for Kauravas.

Narakasura was son of varaha[boar] incarnation of Vishnu and mother earth reared him.

He fell into bad company of vanasura son of King Bali and went astray molesting women , insulting indra and stealing earrings [kundali]of mother aditi .

He tortured all holy men who prayed to Goddess kamakhya who returned to earth along with krishna [avathar of vishnu] and krishna eliminated him.

It was the goddess kamakhya who was instrumental in punishing him with krishna aiding her.
