when the thithi ,month, paksham of father and mothers annual ceremony one is asked to perform two srardhams on the same day.some say that one srardham can be done as hiranyam and the other as anna srardham . what is correct is not clear.
also if you are doing both srardham as anna srardham, then say afirst yu perform fathers srardham by igniting the fire and performing the oupasanam and after feeding the brahmins and completingthe fathers ceremony one should take bath and then ignite the lowkigagni (not oupasanagni) and perform the mothers ceremony. and thewn perform the tharpanam
what is he correct proceedure. I find different sasthrigal give and conduct such srardhamin different ways

Unless both the parents have passed away on the same month and thithi, I don't think the srardham for both of them have to be performed on the same day.Learned people may clarify pl.

On the srardham day, which one takes precedence srardha karyam or nithya pooja or vice versa ?
dear sir,
On pithru day let it be ammavasya, mahalaya or annual srardham, till the tharpanam is over, deva puja is not to bre performed. on ammavasya day , till the tharpanam is over as per our tradition (famous Mudikondan village) even the light before pujaroom is not to be lit. hurther on mahalaya, pithru/mathru srardham day even 'rangoli will not be put on the frontage of the house, It is ithat on suchday the importanceis for pithrus and as such pooja can be perormrmed in a simple manner after srardham only
maha periaval has said in deivathin kural that one can be be with out dsoing the deva pooja, but should not fail to do the pithru pooja.
What I have asked is about performing the srardham of pitha/matha who have expired on the same thithi ,same paksha, same month, same ayanam, BUT ON DIFFERENT YEARS

If the death occured on the same day a single shrardham with 4 nimanthrana brahmins and with ekagni(single agni)and one cooking is sufficiant. But as quoted if the death is on differnt period shrardham has to be done seperately. Refer Apasthamba gruhya suthram and Hiranyakesi gruhya suthram.A book in tamil by name "VAIDHYANATHA DHEEKSHADEEYAM with eloborate Bhashyam by Nadukaveri Srinivasa Sastrigal is available in the Madras Sanscrit College Library. An abridged version in seperate volumes is available at higginbothems published by LIFCO.
