That is a good initiative! Chennai is the safest for women! Hope they are taught self defense techniques..They should also carry pepper spray to protect themselves!

CHENNAI: Customers of e-commerce major Amazon in the Guindy area will soon have their deliveries made by delivery ‘boys’ of the fairer sex. The city is now site to one of the first women-only delivery centres in the country.
Located in Guindy, the Amazon Women-only Delivery Centre is one of the only two such initiatives in the country - with the other in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Both delivery centres were launched last week, with the Chennai one operational since Thursday. According to Amazon representatives, the delivery centres are an attempt to throw open vast employment opportunities in the logistics sector for women. “The initiative is an attempt to support women in our country to explore and succeed in what was otherwise a very male dominated sector,” said Samuel Thomas, Director, Transportation, Amazon India.
These dedicated Amazon India women delivery stations are completely managed and run by women. More stations are set to come up in other locations.
Women at both the Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram stations will deliver packages on two-wheelers, covering a radius of 2-3 km from the delivery station. There are also plans to offer self-defence classes alongside a dedicated helpline number to ensure safety to these associates.
