A Tamil Brahmin Dilemma

One way out is keep having children every year if possible until quota of four is fulfilled.

Not a good idea...too close..no spacing..mother's health would be affected.

Also age difference is too near..4 little devils at one go is not easy to handle.

Children these days seem a little more hyperactive as compared to those of the past.

Also when age difference is too near..they would be entering school at with just 1 year apart from each other..financial problems might arise.

Better to have a minimum of 3 years spacing if one really wants more than one child!

A huge bonus to be offered to any couple who meet the 4 child rule in 5 years or less.

We can say 4 se kam kabie nahin [ never less than four].lol

Why 5 years.....and one by one; why can't all in one!!

I feel polygamy should be encouraged in cases of dwindling population.

That too all wives in one house..automatically the Mother In Law too will "behave" cos she wont be able to handle multiple Daughters In Law!LOL

Dear Renu,

May be, the guy will have to send his mom away and be attacked by ALL his wives and mothers in law!!

The support system of servants plus girls parents reduces girls to only one task - bearing children.

It is like an assembly line operation.

See our slum types.

They have children at least every alternate year if not every year.

They carry it off with aplomb.

Since these girls are career types, the company they work for takes off the burden of finance.

You have a closed mind.

There is a bonus year to make up the shortfall if any at the end of 5 years.

These are days of high performance every where.

No one puts up with lethargy in any thing including bearing children.

Sounds a bit perverse.

But what other way [I know multiple wives is an option. We do not recommend immoral things. we are brahmins].

Even surrogacy is an option. Some think of it in india

Dear Krish Sir,

Please get a list of payments for school children in reputed institutions.
Then you will know why many educated couples opt for 'We two; ours one!' :decision:

Rajiramji

One member here was recommending that brahmins should have four children at least to increase their numbers.

I was only wondering regarding the feasibility in present day context.

How can people suggest such things?

It is just a male mind set which think of such things without seriously considering its implications.

When brahmins were in rural framework, they thought they could have more children .

They had all the time in the world to bear them over a number of years.

Single child if it is a girl can be a big issue for parents who might have no one to fall back on after the girls marriage if the girl settles in a different city or country.

Most of these girls if they are career types have a permanent guilt feelings about their parents whom they are unable to permanently support. This is the reality.

Hence they think of matches in same town as parents and forced to compromise to be near them

LOL!

Since when multiple wives is considered immoral for Brahmins?

Sage Yajnavalkya himself had 2 wives..Katyayani was the simple housewife type..the other was the intellectual one..Maitreyi with whom he had various intellectual discussions ranging from metaphysics to introspection.

dear Krish ji,

Slum dwellers have a different mindset...for the poor a higher number of children is mainly due to:

1)A high infant mortality rate
2)Lack of education
3)Failure of contraception.

Also not all are too hell bent of the quality of life they provide for their children cos for them its day to day survival.

So its not accurate to compare a slum dweller with a non slum dweller also the poor ladies in the slum face abuse from males and are not treated with respect most of the time..she suffers at the hands of a male.

In the educated scenario these days..the story is opposite..if a male does not behave himself he is bound to get it proper from his wife!LOL

So you see ..making a wife a baby factory is not as easy anymore.

As females we have the right to decide how many children we are willing to bear.

Frankly speaking 4 kids in these times is just too much.

practice polygamy.

Why 5 years.....and one by one; why can't all in one!!......................meant for all the four in one delivery!

When 4 children are aspired in 5 years what is wrong in aspiring for ....... hitting a boundary!!......get 4 in one delivery!!

renukaji
your thinking about slum dwellers is flawed.

slum dwellers having more children is because of

1.Non availability of electric power in their slums.

2. Lack of other entertainment facilities in slums.

3.Proximity due to lack of space

Not many use contraceptives.

Social welfare groups may distribute contraceptives free. They do not like to use them as women and men like to enjoy after a day of manual work.

They consume alcohol also for the same reason.

The slum dwellers are free with both women and men being economic entities.

Marriage is also a simple union and separation has no stigma attached to it like middle class.

wife beating has no economic barrier.

many men in all strata of society are wife beaters.

Bossy women also exist in every class.

Rights talking women are either separated or spinsters.

Happy married women with hen pecked men also talk about equality. What they do not say is they consider themselves superior to their husbands and more than

equal to their men. In fact equality sign exists only in maths.on paper.

Most men in middle class due to modern day stresses are unable to enjoy female company . Even one woman is one too manyfor some what to talk of children.

So many prefer gay men to women.

Please visit the slums in Sing. Chennai, Mohan Sir.

Each house either has an antenna or cable connection for a TV!

That is why Amma gives free TV sets to the poor. :D

There is no reason for sexual offence.

Weather might have something to do with it.

When temp goes down , one looks for warmth.

Returning to the subject of the thread on how to resolve the issue of finding suitable matches

we can as test cases try to help those post their profiles in this forum by applying our collective wisdom.

Many are despondent and do not know how to go about finding matches.

The response to profiles posted is dismal.

We can offer our valuable wisdom and contacts and be enablers for a good cause. Why not?

I have not come across any success story .

when someone posts a profile, he has expectations for getting a match. He gets despondent when he does not get any response. Can someone suggest a recipe for

getting a match in quickest possible time?

Bs support to Krishna, Dasaratha and Janaka, who had multiple wives, have enormous. Hence, your statement lacks justification.
