This is unacceptable (at least to me). How can brahmins be asked not to enter a forum in Tamilbrahmins.com? To me, this thought is outrageous.
Siva, if I may, I think you are overreacting.

If I remember correctly, it all started with a request for everyone to accept other members, and not to try to silence the so called "BB" just because this forum is called TamilBrahmins. This led to the exchange you are referring to, one in which Y suggested the orthodox "need not" come to General Discussion, which is not the same as asking them not to come, IMHO.

You may still disagree with my analysis of this controversy, but at least consider it as a possible மெய்ப்பொருள் of the குறள் that did not show as your signature.

Cheers!

Naraji,

Yes. I disagree. To suggest BBs (this BB stands for Brahmin Believers), whom Y refers to as "orthodoxy", "need not come" to one of the forums of Tamilbrahmins.com is not at all acceptable. It is outrageous.

I am a believer of the Kural
எப்பொருள் யார்யார் வாய்க்கேட்பினும் அப்பொருள்
மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்ப தறிவு

But with my little knowledge, I don't see any "மெய்ப்பொருள்" in Y's suggestion. It only has "பொய்ப்பொருள்":smokin:

I actually expected you too to be critical of that suggestion. Y knows I respect some of his views. I am not against anyone. You would remember my passion for the quote of Shakespeare "Condemn the fault and not the actor of it".

Shri Siva,

Please permit the Brahmin Bashers at least the surety of an acronym. :) You may bash their notions as much as you like.

I receive anti-brahmin/anti-Hindu posts and posters with rational mind and then apply the Kural in my signature.

Hello Siva:

What I wrote was an answer to another post that the General Discussion should not be critical of Believers and Brahmins...

My position is GD should be open to ALL.. but if some or all of the orthodoxy is uncomfortable, then I suggest that they need not come to the GD!

That's all.

Cheers.
