This world is more a cruel, hazardous and dangerous place and seldom it is a gentle, safe and peaceful place..

Human/Girl trafficking seem to be never ending. I am a member of Awaaz.com. Couple of months before I got a email from this group to sign a petition to support "STOP HUMAN TRAFFICKING FOR SEX" . Some leading 5 star hotels who are supposed to be fulfilling the norms are violating and remain a potential demanding segment of the trade to pamper their elite guests.

It is too sad to find a human to be a Hero fighting such gruesome atrocities of fellow humans. I mean to say that, when a person gets emerged as a eminent personality/hero to make us understand what's the value of being a Human and his/her life is, is really a pathetic realization that there are many cruel animals in the form/shape of human and we humans got to safeguard ourselves from such fake humans.

dear Mr. Ravi,
The only way to put an end to such inhuman activities is to IMAGINE the girl/child to be one's own daughter. No parent could or would allow such things happen to his/her daughter! Human mind should expand so as to include others as his own family and as his own kith and kin to become human and humane!

with warm regards,
Mrs. V.R.

That's what is the issue with some sick minds, that can never consider girls as their own daughter/sister/wife/mother.

Other than this lucrative, glittering, marvelous world of beauty, technology and amusement, there is a DARK world all along. In this Dark World, there are two sets of humans. One is the set that is living a life of Hell. A life of misery, poverty, torture, humiliation, and many nasty things that we can't think about even. The other is the set that is masking themselves as humans. Can we ever expect the later set to imagine/think/consider girls as the same as the females of their own family? In fact, they have no family values and family system. They are absolute demons in the guise of humans. Such demons would keep sprouting in this world, that’s looking lovely to fortunate humans like us.

Dear Mr. Ravi,

For some people anything is O.K. as long as they are happy.

We hear about Casting couch for actors and actresses .

Models are said to lead a life of debauchery as revealed by the diaries of a few models who have met with horrible and sad ends.

The Good and the bad in the guise of good have existed all along. But still it is great that some people like Anuradha Koirala are able to bring sunshine in the life of a few thousands of the suffering lot!

May we have more of her kind in this miserable world!

with warm regards,
Mrs. V.R.

Dear Sri Ravi,

Well said. Human mind is strange mixture of good and bad. There are two sides in Human Nature a "Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". Given the opportunity and temptation even a good person will be tempted to do harmful things. Our behaviour is moulded by circumstances and surroundings. Here comes the importance of the control of Society over the individuals in the form of Religion and Law. Fear of punishment is the only deterrent against wrong doings. Religious codes of conduct help a lot to direct people tread the path of good living.
Great seers have appeared in the World time and again to cleanse the Society of these scourge. But the effort should be continued by all right thinking people.

Dear Mr. Brahmanyan,

You have put it in a nutshell as you usually do!

Self control is WHAT we NEED most and is scarce to be found among the educated and the illiterate or to say in Tamil 'Pandithargl' and 'Paamarargal!'

As usual the human mind is behind all the mischief!

with warm regards,
Visalakshi Ramani :pray2:

It is amazing to see the Dharma Sastras written thousands of years ago have analyzed the human behavior in various situations and circumstances, how a man falters in each of the situations. The sastras clearly underline the right behavior and action that is appropriate to the situation so that the man never goes astray from the right path of morality. If only people take some effort to go through these grandhas and follow the principles enunciated in them, our Bhulogam will definitely become Bhulogaswargam.

Dear Mrs Visalakshi Ramani,

Indeed Self Control is the primary requirement of good living.

In our religious literature we have an important word "Dharma". Literal meaning of this Sanskrit word is "to sustain or uphold", धारयति इति धर्म, upholding the values.
जगत: स्थितिकारणं प्राणिनां साक्षात् अभ्युदयनि:श्रेयस हेतुर्य: स धर्म: । - श्री शंकराचार्य
Dharma is that which accomplishes the three tasks of keeping the social system in an excellent condition, bringing about the worldly progress of every living being and causing progress in the spiritual realm as well. - Shri Shankaracharya.

'According to authors of the scriptures the word ''Dharma"" is not simply defined as a sect but it also incorporates the actions that an individual should perform and the restrictions that he has to observe for the sake of his individual progress and that of society of which he is a part and parcel.'

Our epics also try to spread the message on the importance of the code of dharma by various examples.

Warm Regards,
Brahmanyan,

நாம் தர்மத்தைக் காப்பாற்றினால்
நம்மையும் தர்மம் காப்பாற்றும்.

என்னுடைய வாழ்க்கையிலேயே
ஏன் என்று அறியாமலேயே கூட;

The thread started with how Auradha Koirala singlehandedly saved 12, 000+

young girls and IS taking care of them after saving them from flesh trade.

Human help IS necessary! No man is an island. No one can get done

everything he wants by himself.

Even Divine helps comes through human beings.

A news item in The Times of India, Chennai Edition today:

The 21year old Buddhist nun from one of Nepal's most disadvantaged Adivasi communities, who was gang raped by five men last month in a public bus, now faces the additional ordeal of being stripped of her religious habit and turned out of the nunnery where she had been apprenticed for almost 10 years. The young woman can no longer be considered a bhikshuni-budhdhist nun-after the rape, Nepal's Budhdhist organization has said.

Another news from Aval Vikatan:

R.Choodaamani-A kind hearted writer:

Choodamani was born in Chennai in 1931. She was one of the three girl children of the family. She had a brother too. When she was young she fell sick and had to contend life long with a bone related disease. She studied Tamil, English and drawing&painting at home with the help of a family friend. With this education she became a great writer in Tamil. She became a popular short story writer in Tamil. In her writing she never allowed her sufferings or the bitterness in her personal life to reflect. She has written more than 600 short stories and won many awards including the Kalaignar Porkizhi. She is one of the Tamil short story writers who is finding a place in the league of great story writers in the world in various languages. She lived a life of contentment with total detachment. She used to wear only spotless white saree and spent a good part of her time daily in reading out books for the blind. She never married and spent all her life time in her ancestral home in Chennai. She bequethed all her assets ( not a small amount-worth more than 10 crores INR.) to the orphanages of her choice before her death. She passed away a few months back.

Dear Mr. Raju,

Both the news items given by you wrung my heart.

While Choodaamani could overcome her physical challenges and shine like a star among Tamil writers,
the poor Adivasi nun got her life thrown out of gear for no fault of hers- except that she is a WOMAN and could not fight off five human animals.

It is a pity that no one came to her help -even though the incident has taken place in a public bus!

I really doubt whether it is good luck to be born as a woman. But I must also admit that but for the presence of women in the world, the atrocities committed by men would be unbearable indeed.

It is said that a woman is the Rudder controlling the life of a man in the right direction. Presence of children make it even better oriented.

with warm regards,
Mrs. V.R.

In a recent unfortunate incident involving the Principal of St.Joseph's college and a Christian Nun,it was the Nun who had to suffer. She was removed from the position of
NUN,while there is no news whether the Principal was removed from the position of
Jesuist Fathers.

Referring the post no.2 of Shri.Ravi and post no.3 of Smt.VR madam,
I wish to state for beastly persons one's own kids are no exception.
Long time Back,I read a book"Morarji Papers".When the book was published there was furore in Indian Parliament.Shri.Morarji Deasai as PM of India maintained certain papers
to be published in the form of a book. The book contains a letter from one MP
accusing one cabinet minister(Shri.H.Bhaguna) of a number of serious Charges.
One of the charges was that he as Chief Minister Of UP protected the Chief Secretary when he killed his own daughter studying in Miranda College New Delhi. For more details one may read the Book as it is not worth mentioning in a Forum.

Dear Mr. B.K.M,
I am reminded of the poetry's line
"A sight to dream of, not to tell..."
The modified line should read
"A horror to dream of, not to tell"
We hear stories about the father of a girl fathering her children
(reminds you of Vikramaathithyan's riddles ?)
A father confined his own daughter in the dungeons and gave her seven children!
Another man was better(?) since he had kept his daughter confined to the attic and gave her several children.
All sorts of unimaginable things keep happening all the time. We ladies must be thankful to God that we were not born in those houses!
with warm regards,

Mrs. V.R.

My faith in the power of a single human being to make a difference in the world is reconfirmed. :rain:

Some do it by their presence :bump2:
while others do it even more easily by their mere absence. :bolt:

Either way is welcome as long as it does good to humanity!
:amen:
