A give and take approach will solve the prolonged reproach
Revered Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq on Sunday said that Muslims should give up their claim on the disputed Babri land if the Supreme Court verdict goes against them.
"Muslims should peacefully accept the decision of the Supreme Court of India even if its verdict goes against the community," he said while addressing a world peace and harmony conclave in Mumbai.
Later, talking to TOI over phone, he said, "I would rather urge the community to give away the disputed land to Hindus whose feelings are so deeply attached to the place."
Clarifying his view, he said, "By giving away a piece of land, the community can win millions of hearts."
Citing wisdom from the Islamic literature, Maulana Sadiq added that one who knows whom to give, receives the benevolence of the almighty.
"If a person gives away a thing close to his/her heart, one receives a thousand times in return," said Sadiq who is also the vice-president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
His words assume importance in the wake of the UP Shia Waqf Board's dramatic shift in their stand before the Supreme Court in the decades-old Babri Masjid land dispute case.
On August 9, the board reportedly told the apex court that the mosque can be constructed away from the disputed land.

The tragedy that struck children in Gorakhpur hospital in Uttar Pradesh:
At a press conference on Saturday, CM Adityanath had stressed that lack of oxygen was not the cause of deaths at the government hospital. He said during his visit to the hospital on August 9, he'd not been apprised of shortage any kind of, including oxygen.
Instead, he blamed Principal Dr Rajeev Mishra for not making timely payment to the gas supplier even after the government had released funds for the same on August 5.
The principal of Baba Raghav Das Medical College Dr Rajeev Mishra resigned from his post late on Saturday night, taking moral reponsibility for the death of 30 children within a span of 48 hours in the hospital.
Mishra stepped down mere hours after being suspended with "immediate effect" by the state government.
UP medical education minister Ashutosh Tandon, who had visited the BRD Medical College earlier in the day along with state health minister Sidharth Nath Singh, said Mishra was suspended for his "irresponsible act" of allegedly delaying payment to the supplier of oxygen cylinders.
Health minister Sidharth Nath Singh confirmed the news of Mishra's resignation and added that an inquiry into his "misdoings" has already been initiated.
This is A SERIOUS CASE OF NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE MEDICAL FRATERNITY AND SEVERE ACTION SHOULD BE INSTITUTED AGAINST ALL THOSE RESPONSIBLE.
In most government departments throughout the country, passage of bills to contractors and suppliers are delayed inordinately as a consequence of which work suffers. And people know why bills are not passed within a reasonable time. For the passage of every bill officials concerned expect "something back"

A violent tradition followed during Rakhi in Uttarkhand
The members of four tribes in Uttarkhand would hurl stones at one another till the blood spilt was equal to that from a human sacrifice. This would take place on the day of Rakhi. Thus began the violent tradition called Bagwal that continues to this day. The clans claim that the ritual brings them prosperity and saves them from ill health and natural calamities.

Sticks and stones on Rakhi day: violent tradition in Uttarakhand
And the goddess said, the blood spilt must be equal to that from a human sacrifice...

NEET exemption is not a neat exemption.
The Centre is willing to grant exemption from NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for one year to Tamil Nadu in terms of government college medical admissions to help rural students, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said.
Speaking at the sidelines of an event on Sunday, she said the State needed to pass an Ordinance seeking exemption for one year, which should specify that the exemption was being provided to help rural students to get admission in government colleges.
Are there not rural students in other states? They are not asking for exemptions for them. Then why Tamil Nadu alone?
IS IT AN ADMISSION OF THE FACT THAT TAMIL NADU STUDENTS FROM VILLAGES ARE LAGGING BEHIND ALL OTHER RURAL STUDENTS OF INDIA. ARE TAMIL NADU RURAL STUDENTS SO BACKWARD? That speaks for itself the standard maintained in Tamil Nadu. The government does not want to improve their standards, but wants exemption from everything, every time. Shame.

On the day of Gokulashtami, let us meditate on Him and seek his divine blessings
We may have heard people say, “Do what Shri Rama did and what Krishna said — not what He did.” This sounds as if there is oneness in what Shri Rama said and did, but not in Shri Krishna. Every statement should be looked at from its own standpoint. It is not that Shri Krishna did something wrong, but if someone were to literally do what He did, there will be a problem. It is said that “Shri Krishna is the Lord Himself”. Think of Him and meditate on Him as God; then whatever He does is seen only as His divine sport (lila) and not as actions of an individual (jiva).
So do not try and copy what He did. One may say “Shri Krishna had 16,008 wives. Is it wrong if I have two?” Can we make even one fully happy? Remember the Lord kept all of them happy and manifested as many forms of Himself so each had her own Krishna. Can we do so?
Shri Krishna drank poison. We, on the other hand, fall sick with food poisoning! Shri Krishna had no ego. Even though He was the king of Dwarka, He willingly drove Arjuna’s chariot.
We should follow the actions of Shri Rama who was a manava avatara, a human incarnation, who demonstrated how we should live an ideal life of dharma as the best of human beings — Maryada Purushottama. Maryada is required to live in harmony with others. These limits are set as rules, government laws, social norms and so on.
Shri Krishna did not follow manava maryada — human laws, but He did follow dharma maryada. Both Shri Krishna and Shri Rama not only set the highest standards of dharma but they did so perfectly. We too should follow dharma as both of them personified dharma alone in all their actions either as lila or maryada.
Shri Krishna was lila purushottama — the highest sportive incarnation. What is lila? Everything that a child does is called his lila (play). It is free of all notion of doership. What is acted out on the stage in a drama is also called lila. The performers are called “actors” not “doers”. What Krishna did was His lila. He assumed a human form and acted out His own scripted role without any notion of doership or enjoyership. His lila is indeed inscrutable — some become enlightened and some get deluded.
Shri Krishna’s divine sports are meant to detach our mind from worldly preoccupations and develop love for God. Even those who hated Him thought of Him day and night. Even the single-pointed hatred towards God blesses that person, then what to talk of single-pointed love for Him!

"Save the Men" Day
Yesterday was the International Men's Day.
It seems that about 5000 complaints have been made by men against their wives in Chennai this year alone.
10% of them were falsely accused by their wives and dragged to all- women police stations.
20% of the wives were fighting over living in a joint family.
10% of men were beaten up by their wives
Most men complain about nagging and abusive wives, unable to bear with them anymore, having put up with them for many years.
So there seems to be a justification for the Men's International Day to safeguard the interests of men against the many SHREWS.

Hailing country's vibrant democracy and secularism, the Chief Justice of India JS Khehar said on Tuesday that every citizen should take pride in one's religion, region and ethnicity as Constitution confers same rights on them and all are equals —"neither inferior nor superior".
Speaking at the function to mark Independence Day celebrations on the Supreme Court premises, Justice Khehar said India is a unique country as it provides equal opportunity to all citizens and the current President, Vice-President and the Prime Minister are living examples of how people from humble backgrounds can rise to hold top constitutional posts in the country.
"All citizens are equal, they are neither inferior not superior to others. That is why we have a President who is a Dalit and who spent his childhood in a mud house, a Vice-President who was an agriculturist and used to put up posters and a Prime Minister who used to work as tea vendor. I was not born as a citizen of this country but when I became a citizen, I became equal to others and finally became Chief Justice of the country," he said.

When millions are starving for want of food, it is a SIN to waste food.
The amount of food wasted in our country per day can take care of a large section of the starving population.
Ours is a country which has a staunch belief that of all Dhaanas, Anna dhaanaa is supreme
At 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, while many Mumbaikars were still waking up to a lazy, weekend morning, archer Sanjeeva Singh, Olympic rower Dattu Bhokanal, three dozen dabbawalas, and other citizens ran 35 km as part of the Indo Torch Run to create awareness about food wastage.
The Mumbai Dabbawala Association (MBA), whose Roti Bank collects leftover food for the poor, had joined the run organised by Morpheus Creations India (MCI). The Zero Food Waste campaign appealed to hotel owners to keep their establishments open for 15 minutes after 11 p.m. and distribute leftover food to the needy. A group of junior roller sportsmen also took part in the run.

Safety has become a rare commodity in our country
Delhi resembles fortress with 70,000 men on duty. News
Leaders used to address mammoth gathering without any special safeguards. Today no leader can address a public meeting without proper security.
In due course, I am afraid, all our railway stations will turn into airports and the passengers have to go through "check in". The days when people travelled safe are over. Safety and security seems to be everyone's concern today.
Did we ever dream that we may have to pass through security checks while going to temples?
Tomorrow it may extend to schools, colleges and all public places.
There is so much of insecurity around us today, that mere survival itself has become a risk and a challenge. So violence seems to threaten our day today lives.

Loosing weight can be extremely challenging for many. A lot of people find it hard to stick to their goal.
But Charles Pask is not one of them. The 37-year-old successfully completed his mission and lost 7.5lbs.
He celebrated his victory by taking his first bath in 20 years, as he was unable to fit in his tub before his weight loss.

Two year old boy rescued from bore well in Guntur. News
It is a good news. This is the 'n'th time that such bore well tragedies are occurring in our country.
Why call a two year child, two year OLD child instead of calling it a two year YOUNG child asks my neighbour's boy.

Pakistani cricketer Ahmed dies after being hit by a bouncer. News
It is said that you must develop killing instinct to win a game. I am sure the one who has said it does not mean this. Take all precautions and play the game. Wear safety gears. Never take it lightly even if it is not test cricket.

A good article on the condition of the average, above average and below average people who have to float on sewage which causes enormous damage to the environment and to our day today living. As one specialised in this area, I join the author in expressing my concern.

Water crisis, sirji
The issue is simple. Inveterate urban development and concretisation of cities, coupled with growing population, is preventing the replenishment of the water table. If we don't plant trees, soon we will have nothing to drink and bathe in but swill.

Modi wanted to become a Sanyasi
It’s true that Narendra Modi came to Late Swami Atmasthanandaji maharaj, the 15th president of Ramakrishna Math and Mission for initiation.
During president maharaj’s stay at Rajkot ,Gujrat, Modi used to regularly visit the ashram and converse with maharaj . He was deeply influenced towards monastery and he was adamant to be a monk.
However, maharaj could see him do enormous works for the nation. He pitched his vision to him and told him that he has great responsibility to take over for the well being of the countrymen. He had asked him to give it a thought and rest is well known history !!
I myself being initiated by President maharaj had the privileged to converse with him about his Rajkot days and Modi .
Here I quote PM’s exact words to Maharaj in one of his visit before the elections to Belur Math, Kolkata :’Whatever I become in future, know that all credit is yours, because, had you not not turned me back home, I would never have traveled in this path.’
Just a magical coincidence :- Vivekananda’s childhood name was NARENDRANATH.

Turbid water causes Acute Gastro intestinal Illness
Acute gastrointestinal illness could be caused by waterborne pathogens like norovirus, Giardia, or Cryptosporidium and carry symptoms like diarrhea and vomiting. Cases linked to water systems have been estimated at between 12 and 16.4 million annually in the United States alone. Since turbidity in water is caused by material floating in it, the thought is that undissolved particles may actually provide some protection for harmful pathogens against disinfectants. Additionally, turbidity could be evidence of runoff into water sources, which could contain not just sediment but also harmful pathogens.

THE DANGER OF OPEN BORE WELLS
The tragedy of children falling into bore wells and losing their lives have been a regular occurrence in several parts of the country. THe repeated occurrence of such tragedies reveals the lackadaisical vie the administration takes, If the guilty are punished seriously, such accidents will not recur. Once a bore well is constructed, its opening must be covered or a dwarf wall around should be provided to prevent accidental falls inside the bore.
: The Hyderabad High Court asked the TS government what measures it had taken, in line with Supreme Court guidelines, to prevent small children falling into borewells
The court directed the principal secretaries of revenue, panchayat raj and home department to file affidavits detailing the number of permissions granted for digging borewells and what action had taken against those who abandoned the borewells.
A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Ramesh Rangana-than and Justice J. Uma Devi was dealing with a PIL by High Court advocate B. Prakash, seeking to hold officers and people concerned responsible for failing to cover unfilled and defunct borewells.
The bench asked the home secretary whether a chargesheet had been filed into the death of Chinnari, a toddler at Vikarabad who fell into a 40-foot uncovered borewell recently.
The bench inquired about the incident in Guntur where a two-year-old boy fell into a borewell on August 15. Mr Satya Prasad, senior counsel for the petitioner, said that the boy had been rescued.
