A jovial story on Tamil pronounciation.A foreign couple in Chennai were
learning Tamil from two different teachers. One day the wife was telling
her husband that in purananuru a lady drove away a tiger without any
weapon and such was the courage of tamils. The husband in turn told
her that he has personaly seen brave tamils by himself. The teacher
was telling son in tamil " ai! Malai varuthu kudai eduthu po" He told
his wife the meaning as he could make with his elementary knowledge
Since " mountains are falling protect yourself with an umbrella. ( The teacher
refered to rain as malai instead of mazhai.)
